I also didn't talk all that much, but I was the DEP member who knew everything. Did my research, so was also over prepped. Also was in DEP for a while. That bit about Covid was super accurate. And oh man... those JROTC kids... Had some kid from JROTC doing facing movements all the time in MEPS. Reporting statement, everything. Then they get to basic and have no idea what they're doing and are so lost. But that'll be for the "Types of people at Basic" video for sure ;D
The 4 v 6 enlistee is so accurate.. I was a 4 originally, now on my 5th year and looking at a full career possibly.. While most of the 6-year enlisted people thought they were gonna do 20 didn't even make the 6 years.
@@AirmanVision Always keep your options open. Never think Air Force is the ONLY way to go, thats what a lot of senior enlisted leaders will drill into your head. Its definitely great for many things, but there are many other great options. Biggest upside from the Air Force, I think, is all the doors it can open for your future in whatever it may be.

I had to wait almost 12 months in DEP back in 2007....and I was picked up for 2A7X3 Aircraft Structural Maintenance. I did want to work on aircraft though. I later retrained into 1N4X1A Cyber Intelligence Analyst and has been a roller coaster since.
I guess I'm the over prepared one. Like I seriously march into DEP office (CAUSE that's what the paper the recruiter gave me said to do). The Recruiter was like T'Challa in Wakanda, "We don't do that here"

I got my fourth choice(Special Mission Aviator) and I was stoked. Half way to BMT and I’ve only been in delayed entry for a month. Either the timing was perfect or I owe my recruiter big time.
I was like, none of these seem to fit... Until you got to spec ops.... And how I feel bad when I only do 100 push ups in a work out, and then my man came back and said 100 more... Dudes my spirit animal

A lot of people ghost their recruiter! They change their mind and instead of telling them, they just ignore them OR they chose another branch and ignore them OR they get in some trouble and ignore their recruiter instead of letting them know about it
