    My experience with a continuous glucose monitor and oatmeal is that when it was just plain with salt and butter my blood glucose went way way way up! When I simply added a decent amount of cinnamon, it stayed very even. This was a repeated result from doing it repeatedly.

    Thank you so much for your video! I have been so torn if I have to give up oatmeal because what all the “experts” say.
    For those that don’t know….I know it may sound weird but if you add in a scrambled egg into oatmeal you will get the creamiest oatmeal you have ever eaten! So good. 😋The trick is… when your oats are almost done cooking add a 1/4 cup of cold water in one spot, in that same spot pour your egg in and start stirring like crazy. This way you don’t end up with scrambled eggs in your oatmeal. You will start to see your oatmeal become a creamier consistency as you stir and it cooks. Only takes a minute. It won’t taste eggy either.
    I’d love to see how adding the egg would change your results.

    • @chiefengineer488
      @chiefengineer488 Před 5 měsíci +1

      I just fold in the raw egg when the hot oats are almost cooked. The egg will cook perfectly. Don't forget to add salt and black pepper, real butter (or a bit of olive oil). I also love to add a finely chopped clove of garlic sometimes. Be adventurous... try a spoonful of Chinese oyster sauce or a dash of soy sauce.

    Steel Cut oats with flax meal and chia seeds , along with a hard boiled and a bowl of blueberries levels out my glycemic index . Or switch the oatmeal for plain yogurt and you should be fine !!

    I had to give oatmeal up. I didn’t want it without raisins and walnuts, so I do avocado toast.. 1 Slice ..two slices of low sodium bacon… I run the bacon through the microwave and water in a small bowl for one minute and drain it..and 1 boiled egg…. What would you say about avocado toast one slice?.. this keeps me full 5-7 hours ..

    Being a savory person, rather than sweet, I add an egg, onion, spinach and a bit of tomato. All in a bowl. It’s a truly filling breakfast.

    I add 3 egg whites, tablespoon of grass fed, organic butter, pecans, walnuts' and cinnamon or allspice, 1/4 cup of organic grass fed whole milk and about a 1/4 cup of mixed dried fruit. Sweeten with stevia and it is awesome! Last me about 3-4 hours, no pangs!

    used to have oats all the time but I've noticed all the oat products seem to be getting withdrawn from shelves over the last year. Has the price become too unsustainable for supermarkets to buy?

    I always put an egg in my oatmeal. After the oatmeal is done cooking, I stir the egg in there. The heat of the oatmeal cooks the egg. It's so yummy.
