Diamonds are not as expensive as the diamond cartel would have you believe. Finds like this and other places around the world have flooded the market with diamonds. The cartels are sitting on huge stockpiles of them. And under their control will release only a certain amount to keep the prices artificially high.

I’m Brazilian and my god this hursts to watch. So for anyone wondering the road that’s being build is the Trans-Amazônica a road that began construction in the late 19th century, the road was not finished and very little of it was paved. The newly elected president in 2018 decided to retake the repairs and construction of the trans-amazônica . For the people wondering if it’s going to hurt the Amazon it’s not. It’s a 4 lane road and 2 lane in some parts that just cutting through the Amazon and linking the major cities. It has nothing to do with diamonds and the story he told is probably not true.

The poorest, least.productive, very acidic soils. Almost no mammals, 90 inches a year of rainfall leaches the few nutrients that do exist, right into the river, & eventually to the bottom of the Atlantic. Why do you think they set the place on fire every year. You don't need to let decent soil rest at all, bad soil might need 1 year on, 1 year. Off, with a cover crop. There is one supplier in the US who controls like 80% of the market. Gold and diamonds have a 1000% mark up, because they look nice. Lab diamonds cost like a fifth of “natural”, and can be more easily made and tracked. But people perpetuate this lie that there’s a difference, when it’s almost impossible to tell the difference. If you’re gonna buy a diamond, get a lab one.
