- In a groundbreaking move, the UK has returned migrants rescued in the Channel back to France, highlighting increased Anglo-French cooperation on the small boats crisis.
On Wednesday, after a call for help from France, a Border Force Ranger catamaran and an RNLI lifeboat were dispatched from Dover. The French ship PSP Cormoran picked up 59 people, while the British vessel rescued another 13.
Tragically, one migrant died after their small boat deflated near Calais, but the remaining 71 were safely returned to France.
This makes it the first time a British vessel has rescued migrants in French waters and taken them back to France.

@Dazzle627 It has been completely ignored by the MSM but there are videos of protests outside some schools where girls that age have been "attacked" by clearly older men who are attending the school as boys of the same age and no action was taken because "they are from a different culture and where they come from that is normal behaviour and you need to adapt to it" - protesters were girls and their parents. The only laughable thing was it was the native boys being criticised for "not helping the girls" - LMAO, native boys and men have been getting demonised for atleast the last thirty years by girls/women.. why would they "help" and risk getting arrested? Sad but a classic example of reaping what you sow. As our country will.

Correct, but if they are in French or International waters then they can be - in fact International Maritime Law mandates that those rescued MUST be taken to the nearest safe harbour - the RNLI and Border Force often contravene this law.

Absolutely. Our boats rescuing them and returning them to the french boats??? The French boat follows them to our waters to make sure they get here and do not fall in the sea, they are there to rescue them if they do.
They do not show us this, just take pictures of them in the dinghies, but it was shown on a video where Nigel Farage was filming them coming here. There was a French boat in the background. Maybe Starmer should go and arrest them for 'people smuggling' because they are clearly escorting them over here. Why do these Politicians think the public are dense? Most of us, not all, know what they are really up to.
Why was the UK border force involved at all? The sinking boat was in French waters so call out the French coastguard and border security.

More than 300 arrived. But the ones that were turned back get the headlines.
We are often told that the UK cannot return immigrants to France because we left the EU - this is true but it is conveniently overlooking another law - International Maritime law which states that a vessel MUST go to the aid of those in distress on the sea and MUST return them to the nearest safe harbour.
This is the issue I have with the RNLI and Border Force vessels, not that rescuing immigrants in trouble at sea, they have to do that by law, but that they rarely take them to the nearest safe harbour.
If the immigrants are in UK waters then the EU law kicks in and International Maritime Law is consistent. But if they are in French or International waters then they can be returned to France, because it is not conflicting the EU law and may be legally obliged to do so if France is closer.
The RNLI, in particular, have been contravening the International Maritime Law, in one case they rescued migrants just a mile off the French coast and then instead of taking them the 1 mile to Calais they brought them 20 miles to Dover.
Totally agree, these boats are in danger the moment they leave France so I don’t see any issue with picking up the illegal migrants in French waters and taking them back. What are the French going to do, not allow the boat to dock? Matteo Salvini tried that in Italy and was sued. The solution is staring us in the face it’s quite incredible, if these politicians would just show a bit more back bone. They have treacherously let down the British people and should be behind bars. It really breaks my heart seeing our great country being destroyed by illegal and legal immigration 🇬🇧

The boat was in French waters. The RNLI got a lot of backlash the last time they picked up migrants in French waters and brought them to England. So well done RNLI for returning them to France

I'm French but I grew up with famous stories and British history like Excalibur, the knights of the round table, Richard the Lionheart, Robin Wood, the Royal Family, Patrick McNee or Patrick McGoohan or Thunderbirds. i love Britain and we have a common history, so do not tell me how things are doing, look at the actual disaster, it is UKistan now. we also have our own problems in France, for sure, but i think the situation is worst on your side, wake up and do something or you will disappear for ever. Pushing back the immigrants to France is not a solid solution, just keep your money but wipe out any attractivity for Britain for all immigrants, period.
