I've wanted to read the Bible from cover to cover for many years. Every time I start in the Old Testament I get to Numbers & stop. However, listening & reading along to this Audio has been great. @@jaysonb.6669 you are right! I made it to KINGS 1 and paused there and started Matthew the other day and I’m so glad I did. I intend on finishing after the NT. I view the OT as getting a better understanding of the powerful creator and his chosen people. Sort of a history lesson in some ways. It can be a cold, hard read sometimes but important nonetheless. But in matters of redemption, soul saving, love and expectations I need our savior!! God bless you

I was today's old when i learned that ACTUALLY THIS 40YR OLD JOURNEY was in fact a punishment and not the Lord's intention.
Yes. We have a chance listening to the Old Testament Books to see God is righteous, but his standards are extremely high. He does not show partiality to any man. Not even Moses, or Aaron, or even to the people whom he saved from Egypt. Setting them on a path to wonder the desert until they all died.
Sending his Son Jesus to die on the cross to meet our sin debt is a gift that no human should refuse. These Old Testament Books on audio really explain these standards and the gift we have been given by Jesus's sacrifice (to be "free" from the obligations and laws) so we can maintain a relationship with God.

Every time I read the Bible even as a kid I always think the lord is eaither Satan or The lord just seems like some guy who led a bunch of ignorant people out of Egypt and just takes advantage of their ignorance using smoke and mirrors.

I have really been enjoying these videos, and has been my go-to for the last week or so. Love listening to the bible, for me I have a hard time reading and listening helps me so much. Also I have enjoyed this particular version it is quite like the NLT, NIV, or any other paraphrased bibles. I enjoy the old-school synth music playing since it reminds me of playing old GameCube, and PlayStation games. I also enjoy the scrolling text and peaceful scenery. Also gotta' love just laying back and letting this play on a big screen while you just soak in the word, good for your neck!! Great job, Praise Jesus!! and God Bless!!!

This is giving me such a broader understanding of these scriptures. In particular, when other God names are mentioned such as Asherah, the Goddess of Nature and fertility. I never knew about Goddess mentioned in the Bible. I understood that there was only one true God. But apparently, there were many other Gods. Not false ones, but heavenly ones. When I researched about this Goddess, I was stunned how powerful and mighty she was. How she was worshipped alongside God or “Yahweh”. How she was viewed as the Queen of Heaven. As a Christian, I understand that my religion or most religions are very patriarchal, at least that’s how I feel. However, it peaks my interest why this Goddess was stripped from most the Bible. How different the world could’ve been if this powerful celestial being were celebrated semi-equal to God. Can you imagine? A Male and Female being ruling the heavens? Like a husband and Wife holy union?
Please don't get seduced by the other gods.. they're false gods. And these false gods are the fallen angels. God doesn't need any other gods to function. If you read the Bible properly from the begin to the end, you'd have your questions answered

Wow. This book has everything. Obviously, the Levites wrote the first half of it so they could monopolize power. Then you've got a talking donkey, and the strangest thing about this encounter isn't that the donkey is talking but that it won't follow Balaam's orders, as Balaam concludes in 22:30 (This is the whole bit where the Lord messes with Balaam saying it's ok to go to the Moabites, then throwing a hissy fit and sending an angel to block the donkey, and finally concluding that it's ok for Balaam to see the Moabites after all.) Then you've got divinely sanctioned genocide (except for the virgins who are kept as spoils of war). And then it all winds up with Manasseh (or more like "MacNasseh," given the voice actor's accent) persuading Moses to intercede with the Lord to suggest that daughters marrying within their fathers' clan should be sanctioned, effectively institutionalizing incest. Nothing can possibly go wrong there. What a fun ride this was!
Yeah Numbers is effn bonkers. The whole sacred tent thing and some other parts from exodus where no one else can be around while Moses talks to god smack of Joseph Smith and the golden plates.
