    What’s up guys today we are going to be looking at the TOPDON bt100 Battery tester and yes I will be doing more videos on his features but today we were just focusing on testing batteries, but here is the kicker I’m going to be putting this tester up against the The snap on battery analyzer and hopes to give a broader spectrum of how this TOPDON tester operates and it’s features

    I like the video. One thing though, the resistance is measured in milliOhms not MegaOhms. Mega is a denoted with a capital M and milli is denoted with a lowercase m. With any battery the lower the internal resistance the more Amperage the battery can put out. A low internal resistance doesn’t mean the battery is internally shorted because the cathode terminal is not connected to the anode terminal.

    Too funny. I investigated many battery analyzers this last summer and decided on the bt100. I have been very pleased with it. I like it’s ability to determine if your alternator or your battery is the issue.

    Hey, Jeremy! Based on this video I purchased the Topdon tester at that time. Tried to read the manual but it was difficult to understand.
    Yesterday I finally got it out to test the battery on a lawn tractor and just started hitting buttons. It took me no time at all - really easy to use and a good size and weight. Readout super easy to see. Worked great and I’m very happy with this tool. It’s a relief to send out a machine in which I have confidence that the battery is healthy! I wish more tools were this good and at a price I can actually afford. Thanks, dude! 👍🔧

    Nice review. I keep dipping my fingers into the cordless/electric equipment simply because the market is getting bigger not a lot of shops are willing to touch them and I love stress and headaches. right now have a Ryobi lawn tractor a $3000 tractor that loses power and my first thought is to separate all the batteries record all the values then fully charge as intended separate them again and record values and see if we've got any out to lunch I think Ill be buying this tool right now.

    The high resistance (36.59, should be around 4-8 m-ohms) is a good indication high sulfation. Top off fluids, run a charger with pulse tech, check it again in about three weeks, I bet it recovers!

    @gratzbuck9882 Před rokem +1

    Jeremy good video. But at the risk of being classified as a keyboard cowboy, I believed you miss spoke when calling out the internal resistance, you said megaohms which would be real high resistance. One megaohm is egual to a milliom ohms. The instrument measues in milliohms. One milliohm is one-thousandth of an ohm.

    Hi again. Snap on is asking you in/out vehicle; it is asking you top/side post. Topdon just goes straight into the test. Previous version of Topdon did ask the same questions as Snap on.
    Yet the results are nearly identical. So, what's the point of in/out vehicle and top/side post. It seems answering such questions lead to nothing. It makes no difference. It is very very strange.

    • @THEMOWERMEDIC1
      @THEMOWERMEDIC1  Před 2 lety +1

      It makes tons of difference such as parasitic draw and other factors that will pull amperage on a battery when installed in the vehicle

      @@THEMOWERMEDIC1 The reason why a car battery's resistance is measured in mili-ohms or one millionth of an ohm if it was 3.5 mega ohms that would mean the resistance would be 3 million times larger that 1 ohm, meaning that battery could not conduct any electricity. I brought it up to give you feed back so you can sound like you know what you are talking about. Which in the video hearing this could make some one think you are not educated. Which I highly do not think I think you know what you are doing and I want you to be great.
