Said it a million times over, Sabu needs a full fledged documentary Blu ray set 🤘🏼
DVD’s 4 loosers
Atleast a dark side episode
He is right...when someone dies people automatically make them out to be saints
I remember that was a big thing when Kirby Puckett died.
As I get older and get more real world experience I understand this
And I get it but you just wanna remember the good things , pretty sure everyone knew he was a dick
Yep
What about Kris Penwa? Saint
You can tell Sabu is a straight up dude. Seems super honest and super fair.
Yeah you can tell he's not scheming or trying to keep his lies straight, he just gives the answer.
also RVD likes him. And he doesn't put up A..holes
Thats funny cause Sabu says RVD is a dick tho bit theyve known each other forever and are like brothers lol
Sabu was definitely influenced by his uncle, who was well known for being ultra professional and taking wrestling seriously
Seeps super crack addict.
I love Sabu - he's such a solid dude. He's a non conformist, doesn't kiss ass. He could of been a much bigger star than he was, but refused to sell his soul or compromise his integrity.
@@timbow1356 Not everyone is as holier than thou as you apparently
@@timbow1356 I don’t care about his personal problems or his personal life. Since you’re the one who made a stupid remark for some reason, I’d say you’re the uneducated mouth breather. You’re just another annoying, delusional wrestling fan who forgets he’s a fan.
Am I the only person who thinks Sabu is a little bit tweakish?
@@Slickshapiro13 Probably a combo of countless concussions, nerve damage, past drug usage, etc. He was also shot in the head when he was around 18 or 19.
@@Provos7777 I feel a bit pedantic since it's not much better, but I believe it was in the face not the head. He was incredibly lucky given the circumstances. I'm only going off his version of what happened but allegedly someone was at a party firing the gun, hit his friend, Sabu chased him and pinned him down and got a bullet in the cheek for his trouble. Hell of a story.
Im glad guys like Sabu and Bret Hart credit Bam Bam as the best big man they went against. Gives Bigelow all the credit he deserves
Sabu is awesome! I met him in 2007, when I was brought on several shows in the Iowa area. I did not know my way around and Sabu went out of his way to take me to Dusty's office, all the way around the other side of the arena. Very nice guy. I was also surprised when I got to that arena and Sabu and Sandman were changing outside of the locker room. I couldn't believe it; Here was this incredible worker and veteran being forced to change outside of the locker room. Unbelievable
Why did they get forced out of the dressing room?
@@TheSteel101 they may have chosen to do that, maybe they did not want to be around a bunch of independent nobodies
Love Sabu for his honesty.
When sabu says your crazy that says a lot
I agree with Sabu if someone is an asshole just because they die shouldn't change your opinion of them.
I've said the same thing for years, as well.
If you were a prick in life... you're still a prick in death.
No, but you don't need to broadcast it either.
@@Nepthu Well he was asked about it and he answered the question honestly
Like New Jack. Everyone seems to think he was a legend and not a complete degenerate like he actually was.
@@codesm96 Yeah with zero examples.
GOAT ….Sabu is so funny and brutally honest. RVD and Sabu are the best. Always loved their work.
ECW legends
Love Sabu. Rare when some has integrity and speaks the truth.
Man this was great…Love Sabu and he was very comfortable here and it shows.
7:32 everybody's reaction summed up hearing that 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great conversation. It felt like a conversation rather than an interview. Great stuff. Rare
Sabu Speaks his mind
Ill watch ANYTHING Sabu related !!!! I just totally love the guy and all hes done in wrestling . Im a fan of wrestling since 85 , Ive seen it all from Memphis to Japan etc.. but there is so much i love about this dude ! I bet HE dont even understand how much fans really appreciate him . We need to start a fundraiser for no other reason than he deserves it ! Not saying he needs it , but id love to see him flourish in the money he deserves . again i say RIP millissa . We love ya SABU !!!!!
Back in the ECW heyday, I was friends with several of the wrestlers, they used to bring me to the shows with them and I'd hang out backstage, and I'd hang out with them after the shows. I was good friends with Raven, and he and Saturn used to hang out a lot. Because of that, I had been around Kronus quite a bit. One afternoon, I was at the old TGI Fridays on 2nd Lombard, Kronus came walking in with a young lady, I approached him to say hi. He gave me a very friendly greeting, but it was obvious he had no idea who I was. I told him we had met many times, and I was friends with Raven and Saturn, he just smiled and said "Oh! Ok!" but still had no recollection of me whatsoever. I just said; "well, I just wanted to say hi, I'm a big fan", and he thanked me and went to join his companion. I guess it's possible he was ribbing me. But why? Who was I to be ribbed? And unless he was that good of an actor, the look in his eyes said he was completely oblivious. I was telling one of the guys this anecdote and they told me not to take it personally, "He aint all there." But for a crazy guy, he was super nice.
4:04 Kurt Angle
This was hilarious lol no fks given. Shooting from the hip! 🤣🤣
Sabu shaking that dinner plate sized watch right in our faces lol
Sabu comes across really well in these interviews - personable, polite, honest, quite self-deprecating.
I would love to be able to hangout with Sabu & just chill. He's such a great guy. Crazy as hell in the ring though Lol
I'm with Sabu just cause somebody dies doesn't make them a saint
But it wouldn't hurt to not call them an asshole right? It's not like Christopher was like Hitler you can say nice things about him
@@speedking7224 that depends on if you have anything nice to say about the person or not, the people I don't respect or like or get along with in life I still feel the same way in death, I believe you are confusing this with condolences to said person's family, I can give my condolences to the family of my enemy because they have lost someone they care about but personally fuck em.
@@speedking7224 If he doesn't have nice things to say about him, why lie?
@@Stjurgeon he could have refused to answer the question. Or just said that he didn't want to talk about him something like that
He’s too honest and we love him for it
All those years un ecw i never heard sabu talk, its so cool to see him speaking and being so chill, kind of expected him to be stiff and jittery but he seems laid back.
Thank you very much! I always have time for Sabu!
"Bigger than mine" with a laugh tells you Sabu is a stand up dude.
Lol
9:15 Finally, someone who is willing to confirm the age old question.
Sabu is a fuckin legend. One of the best, underated and underpaid.
great interview man, sabu is a legend
My favorite memory of Sabu is....
Scotty (Raven) was having a get-together at his house on South st. A lot of the boys were there. Scotty was sitting and talking with Sabu. I went over and sat down next to Scotty. I did'nt think anything of it, having been around the boys so much. Sabu stopped talking, looked dead at me, looked at Raven and said; "is he smizart?" Raven chuckled and said; "yeah, he's ok, he's a friend of mine. Sabu, Brooksie, Brooksie, Sabu." (Scotty insisted I had to go by my last name when we hung out because there could only be one Scott and he was the alpha *lol*) Sabu reached over, shook my hand, said "nice to meet you", then went right back to talking with Scotty. I felt so cool in that moment.
Smizart. In the 90s? Sure..
Nice imagination. Too much information=lies
@@Mark-eg2yd ...aw, poor "Mark" is hatin'. I'm sorry your life is so sad and uneventful that you need to call mine a lie. But that's nothing, I've go WAY more stories, and photos, that would make you absolutely furious!
Mad respect for the man , Sabu
King Kong Bundy said it best on his KC interview with Sean Oliver. He said when I die and you thought I was an asshole, go ahead and say it.
Nice to know that there’s good dudes in the business and that Sabu is one of them. Prolly one of my favorite ECW guys, and that will never change.
Sadly Sabu is a hardcore racist. I hated to find that out about him. Made me view him differently.
@@YTC1234 he can't be a racist he's not white.
@@YTC1234 makes me like him more
*probably
Too funny you trying to get Sabu to nail down and remember dates and years. 🤣😂😹 I mean it's Sabu
You have to love Sabu. The only thing I can think of to describe him is legitimate. He's not a phony the dude is legitimate
"Why is Sabu mad at the table ?" - Jim Cornette
I remember the first time sabu ever did a shoot........rf video had to fly to Detroit, camp out in a hotel by the airport and wait until the middle of the night for sabu to show up......it was groundbreaking because he had never talked on camera before......great shoot...
Pure respect for Sabu
Sabu has always been my favorite wrestler.
brian Christopher was a awesome guy... dude caught a lot of heat but he was surgical in the ring.. rip legend brian Christopher
The fish tank fill of needles is insane!!
His book is worth a read if you haven't read it yet
James you always seem to some how randomly pick names of people your guests got heat with lol Also respect for Sabu for speaking truth. Him and Christopher had heat, it is what it is. He shouldn’t have to deny it or act like it was what it wasn’t.
That was legit random as well! Picked names from Cagematch from across the years.
A spade is a spade
What a great interview, Sabu
is a straight up guy
An absolute legend in our sport.
I never thought about it that way with Horace Hogan. Poor dude. Vince wanted a "personal relationship." Yikes! Sabu seems awesome. If he doesn't want to see you he avoids you. I can relate.
"but when someone dies theyre a saint" fuckin exactly
I now need to see the Pittsburg / Sandman show
Wow, I've got a new found admiration for Sabu after watching this.
Particularly the deadpan way he went "........he's got a big dick?" 🤣🤣🤣
Amazing 😄
Also just want to say your style with these interviews is brilliant. So respectful, asking genuinely interesting questions and having clearly researched your guests, never trying to get yourself over etc. Really good stuff 👍
Sabu Rules!!
I would love to see all the Sabu VS New Jack matches, if there are more than a few.
Sabu vs. The Sandman match refetenced in the video took place at ECW House Party 1998.
You forgot To ask about Jaime Dundee lol
What’s the heat between him and Sabu?
@@bodhi8297 I dunno if there's heat but Jaime Dundee is an absolute lunatic. Check out some of his shoot interviews. It's hard to imagine how someone can turn out like that haha
@@bodhi8297 no heat just everyone seems to have a Jaime Dundee story. He's like a junior Iron Shiek

Cool picture haha
Thanks again for another great interview. I love Sabu.
sabu most underrated superstar HOF renovator
Sabu is one of the greatest and he explains why bill demot cut Kenny omega from WWE. Nuts
Sabu has always Ben anti social but he's a great guy
Sabu is the man
Imagine no one liking you because your Uncle is Hulkamania but also no one likes you because you aren't Hulkamania
Sabu is the most underappreciated wrestler in history.
To be fair even Scotty Too Hotty didn't really get along with Brian 😕. Did feel like he was maybe a good heel for a reason. Probably no need to make jokes after he died mind you.
Jimmy loyd diff boy
Big win lol
Bummer that he gave high praise to Janela. Easily one of the biggest dorks in wrestling. Impossible to take that guy seriously and that was before Enzo punked him out. He would’ve been eaten alive in previous decades.
Sabu is one of the coolest guys to talk with in this business I would say. What a legend
Lizard lizard lizard is hilarious
Sabu is the best
Brian Christopher had a serious problem with drug addiction. It definitely affected his personality.
Right
2 Cold Scorpio, yeah rumors are true. Bigger than me. Lol
Where can I order the thing Sabu wears on his head? With the colorful braids on it too.
Sabu got a cool voice, but nothing like what I imagined it would sound. No wonder he didn't talk on the mic 😂 he would have lost all his heat
sabu is so cool , grt wrestler and says it how it is ...
Lol… pretty sure Sabu WAS NOT describing “promoter’s kid syndrome” in regard to Horace Hogan.
In Brian Christopher's case, not necessarily defending the guy as he did come off as a bit obnoxious, but he was in the shadow of his father Jerry Lawler throughout his career. That could have played a big part in him being an asshole because he never achieved even a quarter of the success in the wrestling business that his father did. Often times, living in the shadow of a much more successful parent or close relative can take a toll on someone mentally and cause them to snap.
Sabu seems like a cool dude
Edge was right kurt didn’t fit in at all in ecw
He could’ve of if he would’ve worked for Paul E back in the day. Plenty of great technical wrestlers got over in ECW
True he should’ve joined back in the 90s
@@bodhi8297 its not his wrestling that would of been an issue (he's fantastic in the ring, always has been), but his personality....he just wouldnt of ever melded with the ECW crew, kurt in his early career, was just too clean cut and goody 2 shoes (which is understandable, as an olympic gold medalist), yeah, sure later in his career he partied and ate piles of pills like the rest, but the "real" ecw (not the remake nonsense), wouldnt of been a good home for kurt AT ALL, lol
He didn’t fit in with the 2006 ecw crew neither
Sabu is badass
For a crazy guy, Kronus was awesome to watch lol.

Sabu never wrestled for Otto Wanz... that was 1 Match in Hanover for IWW/Stefan Haupt
Sabu💯✊🏽
Undertaker vs Sabu would've been a cool match.
Damn right! I’ve been wanting to hear what Sabu thinks of Taker or if he’s had any interaction with him. No luck whatsoever.
HONEST !!!
The Rock was friends with Brian Christopher when Rock broke into the business I'm sure there's good n bad in everybody it's not fair to make a complete judgment on the guy
Rip to dead ones but dont mean were a good person sad but true
I hate when people ramble. Especially these shoots. I love how Sabu gets to the point.
Lol you didn't ask him why.
Ok. The hypodermic needle thing was always a Jim cornette running joke about hardcore wrestling. The fact that a promotion signed off on it and two wrestlers were stupid enough to do it....WHAT THE HELL
I get that even in Hardcore wrestling you have to do stupid shit. Said stupid shit ultimately safe (or at least way down the line life threatening ala mercury in the fluorescent tubes). But like Needles can almost lead to an embolism right away. FUCK THAT.
Do you know what w*ing match he was talking about?
Jimmy.... Jimmy.... Jimmy Fuckin Lloyd!
Legend
Has anybody asked him about the Yakuza incident in FMW? Onita and Awesome allegedly were involved.
No and I wished I did now
@Patrick Price i thought they couldn't leave the arena for hours or was it both?
There’s an episode of “dark side of the ring” where the topic of the episode is FMW and they talk about it on there.
I forget what the conflict was over, but Sabu got attacked by several members of the Yakuza in the locker room and Mike Awesome came in and beat the holy heck outta them (per Sabu's words on Dark Side of the Ring).
@@Splattermelt it was over the fact that the yakuza had a section in the front row and the wrestlers were supposed to avoid it well maybe sabu didn't get the message and in his match tumbled into that area after the match well you know the story
SABU 👆🤘🤘🤘🤘
Billy Jack Haynes absolutely best the hell out of Brian Christopher in a real shoot. Christopher won a battle royal, and was holding the trophy up in the ring. Billy jumps in the ring and just buries his elbow into the back of his head, then picks him and choke slams him, then busts the trophy over his head, then just legit beats the hell out of him. Check it out, it is amazing...
Ya that was awsome Bill Jack didn't like jerry said he was a pedophile and i believe him Billy Jack was abused as a kid so he didn't like jerry.
