Dang I feel so old, I remember being a young teenage hornball boy in 1991 and Kim Cattrall in her mid 30s was considered the "young" actress in Star Trek 6, when the primary actors were all in their 60s and 70s. Today Kim is 67.
Kim has a very sultry soft spoken voice. Amazing how she was the initial choice for saavik in wrath of khan but was unavailable at the time. I do wonder how her version of saavik might have been.
Some hypocisy here though as Nick Meyer wanted Kirstie Alley back for Saavik yet she was unavailable to do it. Robin Curtis has said publicly she wasnt even asked to reprise. Nick then wanted Kim for but she declined based on two other actresses had portrayed. Nick persuaded Kim given some creative changes would be met and were as to name from Saavik to Valeris and change of look.
Kirstie Alley also wore her Vulcan ears home but was never eyebrow shaved for Vulcan eyebrows. How ever Robin Curtis was not permitted off set to do so and was very suprised Kirstie's eyebrows were never shaved at all.
Quelle classe, elle a une voix magnifique et si douce une talentueuse et superbe actrice On voit bien quelle a aimé jouer dans star trek J’adore sa version du lieutenant Valeris j’adore star trek 6 merci pour ce post

She's 10 years older than the other 3 women, and those 3 other ladies had their own little clique....so I think that was one aspect of it. There were also salary beefs, as is common in any industry, not just acting.
Star Trek II is the best Star Trek movie by a MILE. It is the standard by which all the others are measured. Star Trek VI is not that good, but it is good, along with Star Trek IV and Star Trek: First Contact.
Didnt like Kim as the 3rd Saavik renamed Valeris or her look. I understand Kirstie Alley proved unavailable and Nick Meyer said it wasnt a contractual problem but ses he think's she didnt wont to do it for reasons unknown. But to ignore Robin Curtis back was insulting and TREK at their rudeness. Both Alley & Curtis were continuity for SAAVIK but no offense to Kim Cattrall who is so good as Samantha in TVs "Sex in the City" but frankly she was miscast as Saavik/Valeris. I get Nick Meyer wanted his casting choice of Kirstie whom originated the role and became an instant fan favourite but for non- monetary reasons this time around wasnt either interested or un-available. So why wouldnt you bring back Robin and flesh out her character more than her directed stoic perfomance from TREK 3 & 4. ? Affording the Saavik character to finally add some humor and emotion as she isnt strictly Vulcan but a Romulan hybrid which would have made her more appealing. Kim's performance was way too softly spoken and almost impish like a benign elf as a result and not believable at all. Still love this movie but not Kim in it. Hope explains
I thought Robin Curtis was serviceable as Saavik, but not incredible. Curtis was kinda wooden in her role as Saavik compared to Kirstie Alley. Curtis reminded me of 1st season Jonathan Frakes/Riker on TNG, very wooden, but Frakes grew into Riker. So if Frakes could grow into Riker, Curtis likely would have given a better performance in a second go around as Saavik (I'm not really counting that brief cameo in ST IV: The Voyage Home). With all this said, I think the filmmakers probably felt it would be hard for audiences to accept a beloved character like Saavik would turn traitor and basically set up Kirk and McCoy, exiling them to death on that Klingon frozen planet. Though I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Robin Curtis the person, that she loves Trek fans and is a frequent guest at Cons. The one thing about having Curtis be the traitor Saavik is that would have been a total shock, with Kim as Valeris, even 14 year old me in the early 90s knew right away she was not to be trusted. He behavior, that name "Valeris", it kinda gave it away. Curtis or Alley as Saavik being a traitor would have been a jaw dropping shock.
Her voice is so alluring. What a beautiful, wonderful woman!
One of the classiest women of our time.
😂😂😂😂 yeah ok
Love this hot & sexy woman
Couldn't agree more.

Cattrall quite rightfully didnt want to be the third Mr. Lt.Saavik
Kirstie Alley also wore her Vulcan ears home but was never eyebrow shaved for Vulcan eyebrows. How ever Robin Curtis was not permitted off set to do so and was very suprised Kirstie's eyebrows were never shaved at all.
R,I.P. Bobbie!

You are AMAZING GIRL 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Seems like a really cool person on the real world 🤔
Love her
Her voice sounds so different.
Michelle from Split Second
I thought it was Chloe Grace Moretz in the thumbnail
Catrall and Moretz should play family members in a Film together.
It would be cool if she played Chloe Mortez mother
I was 3 my father recorded star trek 6
Kim, why do they call you Lassie?
Lassie was her character's name in "Porkys"
Why does she have beef with her Sex and the City 🌃 co-stars ?
Calm down Gomer
Thats just a rumor. At least thats what your mom told me last night

They're jealous she took their role in Big trouble in little China.
