I worked some years ago in Palais de Justice and I used to go regularly to Sainte-Chapelle when I have time. I loved to seat near the entrance upstairs. I have seen so many tourists crying with emotion when discovering the splendor of this upper chapel. No film or photo can do justice to this beauty.

Coming back can be sentimental. It’s like a mirror into your past making you remember just who you really are. Paris will always be home to me as I was born and raised in Passy (16th ARR.) I was born and raised in Paris but left in the 80's , just came back from there 2 weeks ago after and absence of nearly 25 years.......It is still the same except for more crowded now (of course it is springtime :))

The whole species range and shades of Parisians' existence are too well known, too replicated in films, songs and magazine photographs. I was obviously more accustomed to the current Paris than to the current London... But it is also obvious that a special style, charm and romance cannot be taken away from Paris and Parisians ...))) I wonder how a young American woman, even more precisely, a girl from New York, perceives Paris? For a New Yorker, this city does not seem architecturally sophisticated, but overly pretentious, cute, slightly provincial, an outsider pensioner in comparison with the largest American megacities? There are no analogies with the aging prince, whose time has passed, and he has not become an emperor?)))
