As someone who cuts hair I personally suggest anybody who hasn’t touched clippers in their life, just start by cutting you hair down to a 1 or 2 (depending on the style) and then lining yourself up, from there you’ll get more comfortable

DaDirtyTroll I don’t know any videos that do specifically that but I can tell you if you brush it down good and cut it down with the grain 1 gaurs open or just a 2 gaurd, then just try to be as precise as possible when you line it up, take your time

I been cutting my own hair since like 12 when my mama bought me some clippers and liners for Christmas...never looked back and I even started off decent af. Thing is I never cut the back like that and with a mirror. This vid and a couple more convinced me to try last week, I’m low key glad I did it. I actually used my phone for most of it because I got a small ass damaged mirror. I actually did decent even tho I fucked up my first fade 🤣💯 now ima ease into it now that I gotta clean canvas (fade grew back into a 1 guard level thank god. For now ima just line up the back and graduate into fades. I put puffballs on the hair that I wasn’t going to cut to not just dig in and fuck up. (Had a small afro about 3-4 inches so it’s harder to fade and separate the hair)

this is my first time trmming my hair and i messed up. I was doing a low fade and skinned the sides but forgot to adjust the gauge from 0 to 1 to do the fade and ended up taking off more than i wanted to, so i just settled for a high fade instead. Thanks for the tutorial though. Ill try again in 2 weeks when my hair grows back.
