The Native Americans were not a monolith, some truly were the peaceful and kind with relatively good tech. And then their were cannible tribes that raped and pillaged... then ate.
Even in the current US... the states aren’t all the same. People from LA would be the first to talk about that. No way they would say Alabama is just a different culture like their own.

Mexico is insanely safe, believe it or not. Cartels want none of that tourist smoke.
They accidentally kidnapped a black guy from the US not long ago and learned real fast not to make that mistake. Returned him immediately when they realized he was American.
My mother has lived there for damn near a decade. Mexico is honestly a really nice country.
People just hear about the bad. It's like if you were from Austria, and all you read about America was from the Detroit and St. Louis newspapers.
Ya'd probably think America was an absolute trash fire and incredibly dangerous; which it can be. But obviously not everywhere.

I wish I would've made it more of a goal to travel when I was in my 20's. You get some great experiences when you let loose and enjoy the ride.
South Africa was incredibly welcoming, believe it or not. Same with Uganda, Somaliland, Niger, Morocco, Chad, Sudan, Tanzania, Egypt was a little sketchy though.
The best time I ever had was when I was in France for a month, then stopped in Andorra for about a week, and then was in Spain for my cousin's wedding in Salamanca. Got to hop down to Madrid to check out some in person Goya's after that at the Del Prado. Best time of my life.
Andorra is probably one of the most gorgeous countries I've ever seen in my life though. Smaller than the state of Maine, but absolutely incredible.
Also, I think Taylor would be surprised about Eastern Europe, Moldova was a surprisingly nice stay. But even Estonia and Latvia are pretty interesting countries to check out. The Baltics aren't bad. I really want to check out South America at some point next. Never been there and I'd really like to go.
Edit: To answer the most beloved french leader question; a toss up between de Gaulle and Napoleon from my understanding. Maybe Voltaire or Louis XIV in the running as well.

If you are not into stalking Moscow could be boring, but if you like blue chew, you have to go to St Petersburg, "White Nights," and nude beach, I don't know about now but they had white pages full of exotic affordable escorts way back, and streets use to be filled with sex and drugs.
