Best to use a cast iron grill pan for grill marks and sear

Here’s my question. In the video- you seal it then go straight to the instant pot and set it... what is the step in between? Do you put the package in the instant pot? If so how? Do you hang it or drop it in water? Otherwise great video!

Great question! Yep, you just drop the bag in the Instant Pot. Since it has been filled just to about 3/4th , the top of the bag will stay above the water. Thanks for watching!

When I can get excellent results in a contact grill with 5-10 minutes warming up followed by around 3 minute (depending on the thickness of the steak) cooking (as both sides are cooked at once) I can't help but think that this comes under the category of a solution looking for a problem.
My contact grill has reversible plates to give the contrasting lines, so a visually much more pleasing result too.
P.S. I would have thought that the steak should have been on a rack to take it nearer to the element.

Hi, this was good but noticed the missing step like someone else mentioned before. Instead of buying a vacuum sealer, could I get away with a ziploc bag and sucking the air out with a straw and then ziploc'ing it closed fully? Thoughts?

Would it be ok to do 2 steaks 1 lb each of my strip to sous vide at the same time? I own a insta pot duo crist 8 quart

If they can fit in the Instant Pot it shouldn't be a problem. I would only flip the position of the two steaks half way through the cooking just to make sure they are cooking evenly.

Never foil a steak after cooking.
