      @Ton Chawit - So happy to see you learning this for yourself; Cheap, fast fashion makes each new generation less likely to sew. My mother also didn't sew, but I was lucky to start learning with my grandmother at about 4yo (now 50yo) & I sought out people to learn more from as I got older (it was pre-internet). It's not just practical, it's creative & fun. Now that you have a valuable skill, be sure to enjoy it. Best wishes.

    I make placemats and have to do a slip stitch as my placemats have batting inside. I sell my placemats but noticed that when I closed the seam with my sewing machine, it doesn't look nice and professional. I decided to learn how to close up the seam with the slip stitch. I have watched a few videos on the slip stitch and I must say your video is the best!!!! Very clear on how to come out on the other side of the seam with the needle as before with other videos, my stitches were very visible and looked like small x's all the way across. Now my placemats looks so professional and you can barely see where I sewed up the opening! Thank you so much for posting this video!!!

    We looked at one website of the professional stuffed animal repair shops just for even an invisible stitch and ladder stitch task; except the price they charge is ridiculously expensive ranging from eighty to three hundred dollars for a stuffed toy depending on size. We cannot even think about sending in the stuffed toy with a hole in it to those professional plush repairmen/repairwomen because of the high price and the high shipping to be paid at our expense. By at these videos (our proficiency level of sewing is beginner), it can save us lots of money. Excellent demonstration, by the way.

      loose*

    • @MadetoSew
      @MadetoSew  Před 7 lety +7

      Hello, it won't come loose if you have sewn over yourself a couple of times or knotted the thread. This will hold everything in place and stop the thread from coming undone. You are simply loosing the end of the thread (after having secured it). Does that make sense? Thanks, Aneka :-))
