Near godlike yes, but only when she was practising her rituals. Fiona, a supreme capable of the seven wonders, is simply more powerful because she doesn't need preparation for her magic. Look at Hanks attack on the salon, Fiona could have just set him on fire or convinced him to pull the trigger on himself, Laveau is a powerful witch but that scene shows who has more power, in fact she only survived because of Queenie, a Salem witch. I loved this whole season. Metaphorically speaking to women harnessing their own personal power, while simultaneously working together because they are that much more stronger when they do so
I love Kathy Bates and she was most definitely deserving of the Emmy she won, but I really wish they had given the Emmy to Angela instead. Angela is one of the finest actresses of our time and she's never been given the recognition she deserves. And we all know that's because she's black. I still can't believe that they managed to get so many talented actresses in one season. Angela, Jessica, Frances and Kathy... it can't possibly get any better.
Sue Shaleh I'm sorry but Kathy got that emmy fair & square her embodiment of that monster lalurie was uncanny and should be the premisee of all inspiring actors to learn what acting really is. Angela did that as well but let's not downgrade Kathy acted her ass of like no other this seasons
Aaron Williams...Kathy was good but Angela was better. Her scenes with Bates and Lange were epic, and let's not even mention her ritual scenes. Glorious acting with insane depth and she should have gotten it over Bates.
a purely thrilling interaction between two legendary equals who didn't have to be physically powerful to get their point across (yet they still are) , but their biting wit and hatred for each other plays off really well in this scene. i always come back to this just to watch two amazing actors duke it out just by undercutting each other and by making their threats so credible, I was certain that Angela Bassett and Jessica Lange were born to play these parts (can you even imagine anyone else playing Marie or Fiona other than these two?) honestly Ryan Murphy peaked on Coven in terms of writing and constructing a story of and about strong women (Feud was just heavy-handed in symbolism and also just completely factually inaccurate)

At the end she said that she didn't like the hairdo like that wasn't the only hair style she was rockin the whole season... 😂😂😂😂😂
angela Bassett = Black don't crack....What à lioness! Superb!
"No more spray" got me.
The level of acting these two are delivering in this one scene is acting at its best. Both fully understood embraced and became the characters. Just enough to keep you invested and keep you locked in the scene and moment
And if Fiona really wanted what Marie had, she should’ve been a bit smarter than to come in there being disrespectful and talking shit.
She couldn’t help herself. Fiona’s arrogance has no boundaries or limitations.
She wants melanin 😂😂😂
Noble Ammar Fahim El FACTZ🤣🤣💯💯
IM SCREEEAAMMIINNGG 💀💀💀💀
Lmao right
Exactly Lmfo I was thinking it
i dont think so, Jessica Lange was 65 during this season looking great, Angela was 54 during this season.
"No more spray!" 😍Ugh what an icon. Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson. What a cast! The chemistry and acting were brilliant this season.
Marie looked at her like "This hoe really trying me, I may have to flick a lighter between this can and her damn head"
Don't forget Frances Conroy!
I love how she stops what she is saying to say “No more spray.”
@@josephstewart187 agreed! Also, looking cute btw 😏 haha
0:56 - "I think when say good black, don't crack they're not wrong. What's your secret?"
"What's yours? Your manicure cost more than my rent."
I'm so inlove with this scene, both of them just praising each other. You know damn well they will end up teaming together 💅
"The hammer wants the nails magic...ohhhh that is rich..?" ONE OF THE BEST LINES IN THE WHOLE FRANCHISE...these two beautiful actresses are gold...
Oscar-caliber acting. They should have given both of these women Emmys for this scene alone!
"And what is your wish..witch"..damn said that with so much depth I almost answered back "I wanna be Becky with the good hair"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
dont u dare bey would kick your ass
Coven is the BEST season...by far! Jessica Lang and Angela Bastett are both astounding.
Sue Shaleh Roanoke has even more talent
Sue Shaleh I wonder how Asylum would have been if Angela Besset and Kathy Bates were there too.
The budget must be unreal, cause I know those actors billed the hell out of them lmao
Aaron Williams...Kathy was good but Angela was better. Her scenes with Bates and Lange were epic, and let's not even mention her ritual scenes. Glorious acting with insane depth and she should have gotten it over Bates.
I could watch this season a thousand times and never get tired of it
yes.... oh lord yes, these two Read each other like Hell, Amazing actresses Love them, the Shade the shade of it all !
I love them......
The chemistry between these two characters and actresses is very unique, one of the best tv duos in media history imo.
The way Marie says “Witch” Pure Hatred 😍 I could smell her Rage from here
your not use to having a white woman in your chair lhhhh the rap music plays and Fiona's looking like WTF LOL
Classic!
Looking just for this comment😂
XOEY FreemanWorld what magic? Lmao

Facts, ain't like she Indian
Jack K ain’t nothing wrong it’s just flat and thin...not the type of hair you’d want for extensions
They are both so iconic in this season
They gave these two some of the best lines in the entire show and I absolutely love them for it
To me, this was the best scene in Coven. The acting and chemistry was really good.
“Out with the trash....give papa my regards”
She needed da help of a poweful voodooo queen
@@beeznhoney9768 but that ain't you SIS
STILL THE VERY BEST SEASON EVER!!!!
Hands down the most iconic verbal exchange in the whole series
Angela is so beautiful. She just owns the screen.
man marie laveau read ms fiona from new Orleans to Africa
Fiona slayed Marie!
lyle bobert bitch where?
lyle bobert she doesn't even have Marie power she wants it. Yeah right.
that power comes with sacrificing a innocent soul so i dont think it is something to brat about.
bobo caster shut Cho ass up
When the two of them finally became friends, the world wasn't ready... I loved it 😂💯♥️
THEY ATE THIS UPPPPPP
Angela Bassett would’ve made great cast member in Black Panther......wait, she was casted. LOL!
"Well I didn't expect you to like me"
These two are iconic.
PLEASE GIVE US ANOTHER SEASON LIKE THIS ONE 😩!!! this was the best one out of all of them 💯
This back and forth they're having is a classist conversation..they're both insulting each other with every line it's amazing
hilarious how uncomfortable fiona looked
She looked more comfortable when she and marie were talking than she was listening to the music
It's hard to believe that Angela's in her mid 50's, yet she looks 30.
"No more spray" 😭
a purely thrilling interaction between two legendary equals who didn't have to be physically powerful to get their point across (yet they still are) , but their biting wit and hatred for each other plays off really well in this scene. i always come back to this just to watch two amazing actors duke it out just by undercutting each other and by making their threats so credible, I was certain that Angela Bassett and Jessica Lange were born to play these parts (can you even imagine anyone else playing Marie or Fiona other than these two?)
honestly Ryan Murphy peaked on Coven in terms of writing and constructing a story of and about strong women (Feud was just heavy-handed in symbolism and also just completely factually inaccurate)
They are a dream duo of acting genius!
the ice and shade in this scene, two brilliant ass actresses, queens!
My body can not handle the insane amount of talent that these two Godesses posses. I love them to death.
