    my ac wasn't working, it stop working right before winter started so i decided not to fix it for now, but when summer came i had to fix it, i went to a mechanic and had it checked , they charge me 50$ just to tell me it was the compressor, the guy said the compressor was 500$ and few more prices and in total it would cost me around 800$ , i the back of my head i knew that shit didn't cost 500$ , i left and decided from now on, i will learn from CZcams and fix my own damn car

    so if the solenoid is bad, will it keep the 2 fans from kicking on when you hit the ac button??

    Is it possible to just take the (solonoid?) out and replace it without taking the whole compressor out?

      @@danstar3391 you have to empty the gas if you're ever doing work on the AC system. There's a lot of pressure in the system

    Hello , I’m confused on where to start to see what’s wrong with my golf Mk5 golf tdi 2.0 the climatic control wont blow cold, had it regarded, it didn’t make a difference but was advised it was holding pressure. No cold air other than what the blower does but it’s not cold . Is it a way I can check what’s not working , the fans don’t kick in and I can’t hear the clutch kick in.i have seen your video on the solenoid is this the high pressure switch or something different, if the high pressure switch is different , where is it. Can I bypass the high pressure switch to make the air con kick in so I can test it seeing if the switch is faulty. Any help would be appreciated

    does anyone know where the ac relay is located??

    • @SystemUser76
      @SystemUser76 Před 7 lety

      im not sure there is one. Ive been all over looking for it. I think the AC compressor solenoid does that. No one mentions about a relay ever, only up to the B5. I got a real good doc on the entire fuses and relays and it doesnt mention one for the AC but there are two regular fuses.

    can you replace the selenoid without taking the freon out?

    • @jfcjr4584
      @jfcjr4584 Před 4 lety

      No, has to be evacuated 1st to a tank by a certified mechanic, otherwise freon will spray all over you and into the atomosphere.

    Please help. Last year i had car accident. plastic head with connector of preassure valve broke from valve. we putted it back in glued together and refill the ac. you would know the ac did not work. this year i have drained the ac, bought a new valve and filled it back. still doesnt work. after watching your video i went to the car and tried to manually spin the clutch. it cant be moved. its stucked to puley. i also see no gap bettween the clutch and puley. after i turn the car...there is no click sound. what amazes me that the clutch is spinning with relay all the time, even though my ac is off inside the car. so it runs and stops with the car, no matter if i have the ac on or not. ...no cold air of course. i will buy new compressor but let me know...would replacing the compressor work or is there anything else might not be ok. thanks.
    i have 1k0820859f sanden. its the same as yours in the video.
