Galaxy J7 Prime here, best smart phone I ever had even if it isn't near the best on the market. Plenty of space, quick enough to load anything I want and decent sized screen. Only odd is how the music plays outside the side of the cell and you can't change it to blast out other speakers or all of them. Other than that the only minor problem I have with it is close up photos/videos are blurry as fuck. You need to be at least 5-7 inches away as any closer wrecks the image completely. Last cell before that was a ZTE tiny ass smart phone lol Had that for a good 3 years, and before that? A flip phone that I had for probably 5 years. Yep, I am one of those that don't need the newest gadgets though admittedly that is mostly because of how insane the prices are without even considering buying new things at that cost pretty much every year.

The reason for the half and half is that sometimes the exynos processor is actually more powerful like in this case, but they dont want to outright switch to either or, because of performance differences each generation. It would be kinda awkward if they had a super power exynos chip that curb stomped the snapdragon, and fully committed to the exynos chip, and then the following year the snapdragon curb stomped the exynos chip. It better to keep qualcomm happy by buying there chips and then just underclocking whichever is the higher performing.
My s10 plus has an exynos and I cant feel the difference that much, but yes at least it should be cheaper then the snapdragon. Samsung is being samsung.

To be fair, I have a 144Hz monitor and even if it's snappier and a great improvement at gaming, I could live with my 60Hz display (my 2nd display is 60hz). And if I could trade battery for speed, I would probably go for the battery.

(unless it has huge front facing stereo speakers like those weird gaming phones, then the compromise is kinda acceptable for me). Not only do bezelless phones look better, but smaller bezels means that they can fit a larger screen into a smaller form factor.

I get the irony howevet it does make sense, i havent used a tv in like maybe 10 years, so it would never occour to me to drop a large amount of money on a proper tv, unless i didnt have anything else to spend money on. I've had my S20 Ultra since it came out. I love it! I've used 100x for space shots. Takes awhile to learn but 100x takes great sky shots, however I prefer using 30x. I bought the phone for the camera but the phone has been dropped many times and it still works great.

The zoom camera is fantastic. I am left speechless by how every reviewer says the zoom is a gimick. I use it constantly as it completely replaces a need for a pocket camera. No way I'm giving this ultra back
I bought the Ultra with 128 GB. Don't recommend it for video recording. 8k and 4k60 can only be saved to internal memory. Even with fast SD cards up to 1 TB in size, you'll be limited to record 4k30 directly on sd. I would love to know it before the purchase. Go for 512 GB instead if possible. By the way I liked the way 4k videos are recorded on an entire file all at once. S9 and S10 save huge videos split in many pieces due to the size. I am recording many camera tests with it ultimately. Compared to my old S9, a huge improvement!
I've got a $20 case for my S9, I've had it for 2 years and dropped my phone many times, phone still looks brand new when I take it out. Had an Otterbox for my S8 and it fell apart after a few months.
He switched the display's refresh rate to 120 hertz, not fps. The refresh rate of the display is how many times the display updates what's being displayed on it per second. The fps is how many frames the gpu can produce while your phone is doing something. You can't change the fps your phone produces unless the app or something has a fps limiter, but you can't manually increase it because that is a function of what your gpu is capable of. Also even if you are watching the video on a 60 Hertz screen (which you likely are if you are on a pc and definitely are if you are on a phone), you can still observe the difference in speed between the 60 and 120 hertz mode.
Just ordered one and watched this video, seems like I can get along with its flaws, but I'm deeply saddened by the lack of Snapdragon in my country. I really only want the giant HDR screen and 120hz though, so it should kill the S10+ I'm going from.

Had my S20 Ultra about a year now. It's still holding up vs the iphone 13 Pro (compared it last week with a friends brand new one) and I'd argue it's better, but that's mainly because I hate the iphone interface and just apple products in general. The 100x zoom is still so much fun to use, especially when taking shots of the moon, iphone and other android users are always blown away. Not really a fan of how the iphone always makes pictures look 'warm' so in that aspect I am extremely happy. I paid a lot, it's my phone (not on a data plan) and I plan on keeping it at least for +6 years. Considering my previous phone, the S4, lasted about 5 years, I am confident this will more than 'pay for itself'.
Except who has more than a few notifications at a time anyway? Im not saying it might not need fixed, but as long as your notification is there its not that big of a problem. If you have that many notifications that you cant find them, then start turning off notifications and dismissing them when they come in.

Bought the Exynos variant of the S20 5G a few days ago. The battery life is extremely bad, worse than my 2017 OnePlus 5 it was supposed to be replacing. I've already gone through disabling apps I don't use, removing a lot of Samsung and Google bloatware via ADB shell commands, enabling power save mode, screen resolution to HD+, disabling 120hz etc. None of it worked. Absolutely disgraceful. The phone came with 300+ system apps by default, which was only part of the problem. The Exynos chipset just doesn't seem to be very power efficient.

I worked at a big box retail store in the claims department many years ago, handling writeoffs and returns to manufacturers either due to damage or customer returns. I can still remember the permanent RMA number assigned to the company for sending back RCA TVs, because no day was complete without shipping out at least one of them. It is mostly money. It was cheaper for them to make their own chip and easier to negotiate a better price with snapdragon because it's not like they wouldn't survive without them. Having a fallback might also be one of their reasons.

I remember when flagship phones had just the best processor, a great screen, a decent battery, waterproofing, a very high quality camera, good speakers, a headphone jack(!) and that's it. No gimmicks. Although I like multi cameras, under-screen fingerprint scanners and high refresh displays, I don't think it justifies the price going up from $600 to $1100@
oren ben altabe finger print sensors aren’t as secure as you think. Only a very select amount of people have the same face, and the whole “every fingerprint is unique” thing has been debunked.

I've had my S20 Ultra since it came out. I love it! I've used 100x for space shots. Takes awhile to learn but 100x takes great sky shots, however I prefer using 30x. I bought the phone for the camera but the phone has been dropped many times and it still works great.

I bought the Ultra with 128 GB. Don't recommend it for video recording. 8k and 4k60 can only be saved to internal memory. Even with fast SD cards up to 1 TB in size, you'll be limited to record 4k30 directly on sd. I would love to know it before the purchase. Go for 512 GB instead if possible.
By the way I liked the way 4k videos are recorded on an entire file all at once. S9 and S10 save huge videos split in many pieces due to the size. I am recording many camera tests with it ultimately. Compared to my old S9, a huge improvement!

I've got a $20 case for my S9, I've had it for 2 years and dropped my phone many times, phone still looks brand new when I take it out. Had an Otterbox for my S8 and it fell apart after a few months.

He switched the display's refresh rate to 120 hertz, not fps. The refresh rate of the display is how many times the display updates what's being displayed on it per second. The fps is how many frames the gpu can produce while your phone is doing something. You can't change the fps your phone produces unless the app or something has a fps limiter, but you can't manually increase it because that is a function of what your gpu is capable of.
Also even if you are watching the video on a 60 Hertz screen (which you likely are if you are on a pc and definitely are if you are on a phone), you can still observe the difference in speed between the 60 and 120 hertz mode.

Had my S20 Ultra about a year now. It's still holding up vs the iphone 13 Pro (compared it last week with a friends brand new one) and I'd argue it's better, but that's mainly because I hate the iphone interface and just apple products in general.
The 100x zoom is still so much fun to use, especially when taking shots of the moon, iphone and other android users are always blown away. Not really a fan of how the iphone always makes pictures look 'warm' so in that aspect I am extremely happy.
I paid a lot, it's my phone (not on a data plan) and I plan on keeping it at least for +6 years. Considering my previous phone, the S4, lasted about 5 years, I am confident this will more than 'pay for itself'.

Bought the Exynos variant of the S20 5G a few days ago. The battery life is extremely bad, worse than my 2017 OnePlus 5 it was supposed to be replacing. I've already gone through disabling apps I don't use, removing a lot of Samsung and Google bloatware via ADB shell commands, enabling power save mode, screen resolution to HD+, disabling 120hz etc. None of it worked.
Absolutely disgraceful. The phone came with 300+ system apps by default, which was only part of the problem. The Exynos chipset just doesn't seem to be very power efficient.

I worked at a big box retail store in the claims department many years ago, handling writeoffs and returns to manufacturers either due to damage or customer returns. I can still remember the permanent RMA number assigned to the company for sending back RCA TVs, because no day was complete without shipping out at least one of them. @@BenjaminAster slack ain't that great either. honestly quality and feature wise discord tops every single chatting app. the only issue is that it was mainly built for gaming so subscriptions are individually paid instead of being managed by the company. slack, teams, zoom and every single one out there are what we call "best effort". that's all.

Yeah, it just unfair that most top-reviewer country get the snapdragon so they got positive review while it's unclear for exynos version of samsung (I didnt bought samsung s10e because this problem)
@@dedoyxp I think a big part of it is that Qualcomm equipped phones may not be allowed in some countries, or perhaps Samsung and Qualcomm just don't have a deal to allow SAMSUNG to use snapdragons in that market

@@torunsmok5890 Literally every other android uses Qualcomm or in some rare cases Mediatek. It is not Qualcomm fault it is Samsung's.
It is mostly money. It was cheaper for them to make their own chip and easier to negotiate a better price with snapdragon because it's not like they wouldn't survive without them. Having a fallback might also be one of their reasons.

@@andrewmontague9682 I picked up my old 3T the other day after using my Oneplus 7 Pro for the last year. The 3T feels soooo good. It's so much thinner than current phones and so light. I love the metal feel. I wish oneplus would make something like the 3T again.

I'm short sighted so I can watch my phone right in my face without straining my eyes (without my galsses of course). It's very practical, feels like a big TV.

I bought the s20 (Snapdragon) and I'm quite happy with it. I don't see the need to buy a bigger phone you would barely be able to hold or fit in your pocket, while still being able to do the same things as the cheaper model.

I remember when flagship phones had just the best processor, a great screen, a decent battery, waterproofing, a very high quality camera, good speakers, a headphone jack(!) and that's it. No gimmicks. Although I like multi cameras, under-screen fingerprint scanners and high refresh displays, I don't think it justifies the price going up from $600 to $1100@
none of the things you listed are gimmicks. these are all going to be standard in a year or two.
You can still only pay 600 and get just that.....but now there's more options, if you want more and are willing to pay for it you can also have it :)

oren ben altabe finger print sensors aren’t as secure as you think. Only a very select amount of people have the same face, and the whole “every fingerprint is unique” thing has been debunked.

For MS Teams, did you check Settings>Notifications>"Always, even if active on desktop" in the Teams app? This fixed my issues with Teams on my Android phone.
