According to her biography daughter of a German father and Brazilian mother; I find this such an incredible combination of beauty and unique voice that i am hooked, never till this day have I ever heard anyone sing like her, she is a true crown jewel

What an elegantly and flawlessly beautiful woman she was, and what an exquisitely soothing voice she had -- none of us can live forever, but in her case, I'm thankful that she lived in the age of recorded music so that her uniquely lovely voice can live on for as long as future generations of humans care to preserve music from these times
It is amazing that her live performances sound just like her records.
If I am correct, she sounds Just like the récord because she is not really singing, it is Just a natural tone for her.

Natural talent doesn't require much effort. Her vocals just flow witj the rhythm and her memory is flawless. Clearly she loves her music and enjoys her performing. So beautiful 😍. I love her Spanish interpretations.
Amin's suspicion is misplaced, and other comments are right on target. The beauty of her singing is the rhythm and rime of the color and sound of her voice. she is truly a rare jewel of the intellectual side of music. It is not just the athleticism of a great voice there is so much more to singing than high extended notes. I love the love we feel for her art because it is in the nature of our nature.
Why do I tear up when I see this lovely lady and hear her soothing vocals. I was raised on Jackie and Roy and I couldnt be happier my dad didn't burn me out on bossa nova.I hope I'm going where you went! R I P Astrud!

I first heard Astrud singing on a gramophone in a café in Lourenco Marques in Moćambique, I was about 14 years old. Her voice made such an incredible impression on me, while my friends where all listening to the latest hits of the day, I found myself totally captured by the sounds of Brazilian Jazz.
A voice of her time, for me she is the girl from Ipanema. RIP Astrud, you have left your mark.

In the early '60s my Mother had the Astrud Gilberto album playing in the background. In my early 20s I asked my Mother about the album. She told me it was in a box in the rafters in the garage. I found it, and fell in love with it all over again. I have quite a bit of her music now. I recommend Getz au GoGo!

Astrid Gilberto is a legend, and her amazing voice is "INCREDIBLE" you guys should hear the song "Tú Mi Delirio" it's done in Spanish, but man when I heard her sing, "it sounded like an angel singing" AMAZING!!
en realidad la cancion se llama solamente "Delirio" del excelente compositor cubano César Portillo de la Luz, su interpretacon es buena, pero si escuchas la version de Olga Guillot, o de Lucho Gatica, podrias notar la gran diferencia en la interpretación, y te lo digo desde mi muy grande admiración a Astrud Gilberto, que es una interprete increiblemente maravillosa, pero bueno, al final es cuestion de gustos, saludos
