@@ELBoomerTV Darius is easily lvl 1'd and in silver/gold. I have no problem fighting him 1v1 any Champs that I play at all levels of leaning phase. They make valid points. Don't get hit by Darius outer q. You automaically lose the trade if you do. He gets a fat heal and lose a fat chunk. Don't go over extend in early trades unless you're at the point where you can straight murder him because his passive gives him dot PLUS huge AD steroid. Avoid these things and come out on top on each trade. If you are the one coming out with the most health on each trade, you will kill him or force him out of you repeat the process one or two more times. Easy concept.

The points they highlight anyone knows by simply reading the skill desc, the only diff between the firat dar and second dar in the examples they gave was the darius player himself not the orn at all, the cheese works fine in both cases.
@@ELBoomerTV I'm not saying it doesn't work, but the cheese only works if you don't follow these points. You only get run down with the cheese because you came out even on the trades and now you've overextended. The cheese does not work if you're in a winning position by winning the trades.
@@WanganAsura The 2nd darius didnt initiate any trade and that's the thing, entirely different situations. Plus the first orn was barely trading he ran back and darius didn't even use flash or ghost which guarantees the cheese to work even without a trade.

ngl, i only ban Sett or Mordekaiser cause I am a Jax main and their shield can be annoying in 1 vs 1. but if a Garen, Darius or Illaoi shows up in my match, I will take Vayne (don't judge me, constant kiting is one of the best and consistent way to counter champions like Garen, Darius or Illaoi (tanky, do damage, but immobile))

Whenever I play Kindred jungle and Illaoi is on enemy team, she's a free mark every time it comes off cooldown. You can quite literally run circles around her and she can't fight back, and I'm not even a good Kindred player.
Actualy she was really strong before the season, she was a secret op but now the games changed too much cause of items, she is kinda outdated in animation way too slow. There are too many champ that deal way too much damage both in burst and in dps and it often happen by the time you just try to E you are nearly dead you R boom die while animation... at least that happen if you pick illaoi carelessly into whatever champ and they do play a bit correct. Items got another problems, is that its easier to build for many champ now but illaoi in a way got even worst, because before you could just take like 2 item and you were good, BC into DD for exemple and then whatever you need to flex. But now all good effect are spread into many items so every item you finish with her doesnt gives you fully what you want or need, you allways have to make another item to complete your build and overall its never really have a good synergy. You are somehow forced to full build around a bit of AD/HP items but generaly meaning that you will never have AR or RM, its really hard to itemise her properly now
A lot of the shit they say makes no sense. "Darius is a low elo stomper" actually his win rate increases as you go up in rank. "Illaoi E is extremely easy to dodge" Not if you're a melee champ. You can basically never fight her if she holds E properly and pokes you down with her ranged tentacle abilities. I've literally been 1v3ed by a 0-5 illaoi before. Champ is definition of whats wrong with this game. Too much bs in the game designed for bad players to feel good. Like they keep saying how bad the champ is yet their only example is a hard counter matchup. Makes 0 sense. And their grandmaster example is clearly with an autofilled illaoi. I mean are you really telling me a top lane main in GM doesnt understand lvl 2 advantage? This illaoi never holds E either.
I've been saying this for so long. As an illaoi main, it is so difficult to explain to low Elo players why she is so bad, cause if you play incorrectly into her she seems over powered. thank you for making a video that says she is the worst champion so I can start proving my point

usually, darius players cheese. They simply look for an unexpected bush to hide and run u down with ghost. U flash? jungler is there for 5 min. U dont? u die and get frozen till u ff
What the other guy above me said mostly. Juggernauts snowball really hard and can easily statcheck almost anyone if they get ahead. Laning phase is pretty much the only point in the game that matters right now because most matches are decided very early on, so if you can get an early lead on a champion who practically can't lose lane once ahead, it's gg unless some major fuckups happen elsewhere on the map. The introduction of Hullbreaker and Anathema's Chains just amplifies this. Basically all you do all lane is look for a mistake to capitalize on so you can get that lead, and then your job is pretty easy from there. If the enemy plays perfectly then a lot of matchups become impossible for a champion like Darius or Illaoi, but even in challenger there is NOBODY who plays perfectly, no one is a true robot. You just gotta be good at spotting very small and subtle mistakes since they won't make big mistakes as often as low elo players do.
Darius players win in high elo because all of them are otp, it's impossible to main Darius and be consistent in chall, illaoi it's barely playable, if you understand how to play the laning phase properly she can't win
This was a REALLY GREAT idea for a new content type. I feel like I lose so much percentage in games because I just do not know what all 150 champions in the game are trying to do, so I just lose lanes I should have won because of lack of game knowledge. It would be great to see this same type of content for other low-elo stomper champions (Yi, Draven, Teemo, Zed, etc.) so I could have an actual game plan instead of just playing super safe and never going in because I lost the first trade at level 1 like the low-elo Ornn in this video.

She really looked surprisingly bad. I'm a low elo Illaoi main and I NEVER would have approached the fight like that. Much of those Qs and Es were never going to hit and anyone familiar with Illaoi would have known that.
Been playing illaoi for 7 years, and i agree. Tentacle setup isn't any harder after leashing than it is without leashing either (some comment said it is). The high elo illaoi was most likely an auto fill or random champ choice or something. The only darius' I've lost against were smurfs lmao
The darius matchup is considering he has tp not ignite and he is against the tankiest champion in the game- ornn. The sad truth is that against any other top laner darius with ignite could actually 1 vs 1 them in their minion wave at lvl 1.
My mind automatically thinks of Gold as high elo so judging on that I'm almost totally safe from high elo rules so this will apply to pretty much every match I play. This also tells me why Veigar feels almost invincible for me in most of my games when I play him because the low elo thing gives Veigar a massive buff.
I especially love the "Here's a game from grand master, this Wukong STILL doesn't know how to fully counter Illaoi but he's getting there (This is still only middle ELO after all.)" mentality. I'm assuming Tryndamere isn't in this video because you should get past the levels where he is wiping teams so quickly that advice against him doesn't matter.

Literally this. I played against an Illaoi once as Maokai and my jungler kept ganking and feeding her. I added the Illaoi after the match and she messaged me "you like, just walked away when I ulted or hit you with E" "no one does that" "shit's wild"
Not going to lie, as a jg main, I've made this mistake a few times before when I started playing the game and was so confused on what just happened. I now know not to fuck with an Illaoi if her abilities are up.
Dirtymobs (a challenger Illaoi main) often explains in his videos that when a gank is coming in you always E the jungler because 90% of the time they are forgetting about her E and don't try to dodge unlike the enemy to planer who has spent the past few minutes trying to avoid it.
Usually I ban pub stomp champions so my team doesn't feed them. I've had too many mids/tops hard feed against something and lose the game because of it.
this guide is one of the best ive seen! he very well pointed out how you get forced to fight all the time in low elo. over time this also becomes the most frustrating thing about low elo since youre busy punishing mistakes all game long to the point where your not playing the game properly anymore. i remember having to dump so many bad habits after i got out of silver/gold the first time, but only years later im starting to fully understand how i got them in the first place.
"You can outscale him through teamfights easily". This can't be more wrong in low elo. I have no issue winning lane agains him, but he can pop off in teamfights even when super behhind and oneshot my team :(
people forget to dodge the outer edge, similar to when fighting Diana, where sometimes to dodge her you need to run up to her as a ranged champion, giving up on your range advantage then pulling back after that misses
Low elo players are cancer, I'm so glad I climbed out of the depths. The teammates are still retarded but at least they don't let Darius get 5 stacks then Q the entire team thus giving everyone 5 stacks.
Never saw Illaoi as a strong champion except for her ultimate in team fights. Darius, on the other hand, is a real problem. But he is less of a problem now that the Stridebreaker dash is gone.
What people don't realize is that when Illaoi lands her E, you have two choices. 1) Stay tethered and take hits while she's at a safe distance, or 2) Walk away, get slowed and spend some time dodging/clearing tentacles. Both of these choices severely affects the point of laning phase. You're distracted and lose on minions. Illaoi hunkers down and makes you run away.
As someone who started playing league like a month ago I thought illaoi was so much fun and so strong because she was the first champ I started truly stomping toplaners with. Now my soul is crushed upon finding out she’s the worst champ in the game.

I'm no where NEAR that elo and I NEVER would have gone for several of those Es or many of those Qs. They were never going to hit and anyone familiar with Illaoi's animations would have known that. Except Tristana E is point and click whereas Illaoi E is a skillshot - and one that you have to stay in range for while she attacks it for it to be any use. Also , Tristana has mobility and a long-auto range, Illaoi does not. In a perfect scenario Illaoi can one-combo 90% of the champions in the game, it's your job to make sure that perfect scenario never happens.
Fun fact, if you have tr Illaoi curse on, this is a 100% way to do not being hit by the tentacles. Found a circular structure, as a tower, inhibitor, nexus, etc and then... just star walking around the circle. As it goes the tentacles only track your path once you activated his range, but if you still moves the tentacle doesn't change the trajectory
Darius is strong just running people down. The window to win trades into is narrower than the average top laners IMO and that's why us low ELO players struggle. It's apparent that many Illaoi players don't know her well. Last night our Nocturne was late to lane and missed a whole wave and still managed to run her down and kill her the moment Noc got to lane.
Illaoi is a very macro demanding champion, who is punished severely if over extended and misses E. Map awareness of enemy jungle and mid roam is critical. The key to illaoi is to have strong discipline when using E, only using it when it is free to land. Knowing matchups is also vitally important for illaoi. Some enemy team comps she can 1v5 while not even being fed. She has a very rock-paper-scissors type gameplay when it comes to enemy team comp. The value Illaoi brings to the table is being able to starve enemy top lane of gold/xp, forcing ganks to be focused on her while your team extracts value elsewhere on the map
Darius was nearly 2 years in every Tier List S or OP Often with a high win Rate and only against 2-3 picks a winrate under 50% With the recent nerfs to stridebreaker he dropped Out of s Tier So ist was ok the whole time to Ban Darius
When I start playing GP I was thinking that Darius was a really bad matchup, later when I reach gold (yup I was bronze), I understand if he miss E he can't do nothing relevant. Even better was when I realized how his Q works, every time he hits E just move near to him, you have more chance to dodge her Q AOE moving near to him than tryin scape It's crazy how champs that everyone in low elo hates (yes gold still low elo) are so weak when you understand how it works Anyway I have so much to improve to deserve a decent elo
The fact that u can just walk away from illaoi when she ults is like the most obvius thing to do but my entire team always gets one shot in team fights by it cuz somehow they dont understand it or they just play with their eyes closed
Against Darius, its not the playing lane that is hard, its that my team does not know how to play against him in teamfights, and just bring him back into the game after he just Quadras them after being 0/7
I'm an illaoi main, and honestly more guides should be made like this. It's very easy to basically afk as illaoi against bronze/silver players. That shouldnt happen for a champion that's a one trick pony

Honestly, i dont think a Q Lvl 1 for the low elo Ornn would be helpful either. Darius was behind the enemies minionwave, only the 3 casters would help Ornn. So either he would lost all 6 XP from the First wave or try to trade with W. Its an Lvl 1 Darius with probably conqourer and Passive. You dont want to fight as a Tank against this. You got no damage for long fights. The second Ornn got more luck. Darius doesnt cut his way of to the minionwave.
Definition of an OP champion: "It requires more of your attention in order to defeat them". It's not that "OP" champs are better by design, they just give you harder time to figure them out. And this is probably the hardest thing for low elo players. They don't focus and think deeply about mechanics. They just see spells, but don't think about cool downs.
It's the same reason grocery stores stock esoteric products that actually sell for a loss overall - customers with individual tastes that prefer that item are more likely to come to the store and buy other products. In League, more people that like playing Illaoi or beating her will play the game.
I have two things to say. One related to Darius having that high BR and one related to title but they are related. I am not hight elo, I almost dont even play ranked games ( just placements to get silver with few games if I get bronze ) but I played few games against smurfs and even specifically against 160K mastery Darius main from D1 limit testing at draft ( I will never ever forget that game ). Ultimately I got destroyed but he ran ignite and I faced him with phase rush rune as Fiora and both times he soloed me, before I got camped by angry nunu, he himself almost died ( less than 1% HP left ), so I guess that I do pretty OK when it comes to micro. Now here is the thing. Darius isnt necessarily banned because of LP but because of game experience and he is also one of these champions that lose to teamplay rather than individuals. Here comes second thing I think that its bit unfair saying that certain champions are noobstompers exactly for the reason of being noob as an opponent because as I said, there are bunch of champions that need teamplay to take them down. I have heart countless times from ppl at D2 and higher that Yi is busted and that they have no problem dealing with him at their own elo but its completely different thing when they are smurfing, especially when Yi himself is another smurf. So while I guess some champions are better at low elo simply because ppl are too lazy to read what their spells do, there are also champions who are held back by the fact that this is teamgame which at low elo is not inherently valid fact.
They dont require teamplay to defeat really unless they get fed. The problem with yi when smurfing or even in yout elo is that he always seems to get a random double kill at the start of every game and then even if YOU are playing properly someone will fuck up and die to him again and then he snowballs out of control.
not really. the garen matchup is completly different. let yourself hit by her e. and let het attack the soul and before the tentacles slam into it walk out of the area and regen. while its nothing to you cause of your passive she will run out of mana extremly quickly and if you want to trade with her then uee your q to run out a good illaoi wont even bother in trading against garen since how pointless it is and too expensive 😅😅😅

Can skill capped do a video on how people do game throwing mistakes without even knowing. But this time, focus on how much gold and experience they're missing out on. I literally saw the enemy Kah'Zix (jungle) get 2cs in 2 minutes. They walked passed gromp twice, walked pass krugs once.
Unless they revert Illaoi E to the old one that had counterplay other than "just dodge it bro lol" I dont see a way for riot to buff her, E is just too toxic of an ability. The issue with illaoi is that her E is impossible to miss if YOU start the trade on her so it puts all the pressure on her to throw it out and miss it for her to be even remotely fightable as if you do go in for a trade before she wastes it you automatically lose unless youre playing some champ with like 11 dashes. My frustration with the champion is that if I dont have a jungler that ever comes topside before shes level 6, I usually just have to farm because she will NEVER throw her E if its not guarunteed by me making the silly mistake of trying to fight her at all ever, so the lane just becomes a boring uninteractive farm lane waiting for her to get impatient and throw E. If she does miss the E for whatever reason 100% shes not a champion anymore, although if they max it first its cd isnt really very long. Also "just run out of the ult" is fine advice but the damage it deals on the first slam is often enough to just straight up kill you if not force your recall. Basically I feel like youre misinterpreting why she is banned. She takes away your agency to win your own lane assuming she does nothing other than farm and only uses her E to punish youre aggressive plays so that she always wins. Whats worse is you dont ahve the same outscale in teamfights/1v1 win condition you have against darius most of the time as illaoi at all stages of the game can pretty much 100-0 you with a landed E and an R. If illaoi had any real way to actually teamfight against ranged champions other than hope they run into her tentacles she would be 100% broken and pick ban in every elo.

I love playing Illaoi ( idk the reason ) but there is no match-up where I'm not scared to death . 1 gank from the enemy jg and Illaoi is basically a glorified minion in the laning phase .
Buffing her would make her unbearable in low elo, she's a pretty cancerous design who CAN'T be buffed without negatively impacting the health of the game because her mere PRESENCE in a match lowers the quality of gameplay for everyone. The strongest counterplay to her is to just IGNORE her because you literally can't fight her ever as most champions and she can't do anything about you simply walking away, and that's not good design for the Illaoi player or her enemies... or her teammates for that matter. She just needs a rework.

When I play against Illoai she is by far the most "just dodge" champion. The windups are so slow it makes it so easy to dodge. When I pick Illoai I have so much fun because it's so funny that they can't dodge the most telegraphed abilities in the game.
My first main was illaoi… as soon as I reached silver she became unplayable. I got so frustrated by the lack of mobility after they changed stridebreaker that I started playing champs with a shit ton of mobility like Akali and Yone, the complete opposite while still being as cancer to lane against
I'm in silver and I always thought her strength was when you shoved into her because she had tentacles set up, and so I just kept getting hard shoved and never wanted a gank because if she lands her ult, her lifesteal and DMG is so so high. But this makes sense lol
Yes and no. Illaoi is weak if all 5 players in your team know how to play her (which is why Illaoi is terrible in proplay) but in soloque most toplaners dont know how to counter her. So if Riot buffs Illaoi the players who dont know how to play vs her will make her winrate increase to 55% or something like that.

Darius is not weak after nerfs. He still counters a lot of peak champions like riven or nasus, or strong ones like irelia, fiora. Darius is banned because it makes the first 10-15 minutes of the game unplayable. You either lose hard or play even. You never win lane. And you want to be winning lane.

All Nasus got to do level 1-6 is just to chill behind his wave anyway, which is what he does vs 99% of all top lane matchups, so how is that any different to how he plays vs Darius? Once he gets his Sheen and is level 6, he can easily all in Darius though.
I think the hardest part about playing illaoi is that she is completely rng. Nobody knows what she does, I don't, you don't, the pros don't even the devs don't. She was made by chat-GPT before that went public and riot never bothered to check the work. If you watch really closely at an illaoi main playing her you will notice a confused face as he's shamshing the keyboard, pressing random buttons and hoping they do something only to realize that he doesn't really know what they should be doing ! 😂😂

ngl, i only ban Sett or Mordekaiser cause I am a Jax main and their shield can be annoying in 1 vs 1. but if a Garen, Darius or Illaoi shows up in my match, I will take Vayne (don't judge me, constant kiting is one of the best and consistent way to counter champions like Garen, Darius or Illaoi (tanky, do damage, but immobile))
But that's even more of a waste when you can beat her with 90% of the top lane roster

Whenever I play Kindred jungle and Illaoi is on enemy team, she's a free mark every time it comes off cooldown. You can quite literally run circles around her and she can't fight back, and I'm not even a good Kindred player.
Actualy she was really strong before the season, she was a secret op but now the games changed too much cause of items, she is kinda outdated in animation way too slow.
There are too many champ that deal way too much damage both in burst and in dps and it often happen by the time you just try to E you are nearly dead you R boom die while animation... at least that happen if you pick illaoi carelessly into whatever champ and they do play a bit correct.
Items got another problems, is that its easier to build for many champ now but illaoi in a way got even worst, because before you could just take like 2 item and you were good, BC into DD for exemple and then whatever you need to flex.
But now all good effect are spread into many items so every item you finish with her doesnt gives you fully what you want or need, you allways have to make another item to complete your build and overall its never really have a good synergy.
You are somehow forced to full build around a bit of AD/HP items but generaly meaning that you will never have AR or RM, its really hard to itemise her properly now

usually, darius players cheese. They simply look for an unexpected bush to hide and run u down with ghost. U flash? jungler is there for 5 min. U dont? u die and get frozen till u ff
What the other guy above me said mostly. Juggernauts snowball really hard and can easily statcheck almost anyone if they get ahead. Laning phase is pretty much the only point in the game that matters right now because most matches are decided very early on, so if you can get an early lead on a champion who practically can't lose lane once ahead, it's gg unless some major fuckups happen elsewhere on the map. The introduction of Hullbreaker and Anathema's Chains just amplifies this. Basically all you do all lane is look for a mistake to capitalize on so you can get that lead, and then your job is pretty easy from there. If the enemy plays perfectly then a lot of matchups become impossible for a champion like Darius or Illaoi, but even in challenger there is NOBODY who plays perfectly, no one is a true robot. You just gotta be good at spotting very small and subtle mistakes since they won't make big mistakes as often as low elo players do.

This was a REALLY GREAT idea for a new content type. I feel like I lose so much percentage in games because I just do not know what all 150 champions in the game are trying to do, so I just lose lanes I should have won because of lack of game knowledge. It would be great to see this same type of content for other low-elo stomper champions (Yi, Draven, Teemo, Zed, etc.) so I could have an actual game plan instead of just playing super safe and never going in because I lost the first trade at level 1 like the low-elo Ornn in this video.
The thing is, if you get smurf draven against you, you will lose and theres little you can do to change it

She really looked surprisingly bad. I'm a low elo Illaoi main and I NEVER would have approached the fight like that. Much of those Qs and Es were never going to hit and anyone familiar with Illaoi would have known that.
Been playing illaoi for 7 years, and i agree. Tentacle setup isn't any harder after leashing than it is without leashing either (some comment said it is). The high elo illaoi was most likely an auto fill or random champ choice or something. The only darius' I've lost against were smurfs lmao

The darius matchup is considering he has tp not ignite and he is against the tankiest champion in the game- ornn.
The sad truth is that against any other top laner darius with ignite could actually 1 vs 1 them in their minion wave at lvl 1.
My mind automatically thinks of Gold as high elo so judging on that I'm almost totally safe from high elo rules so this will apply to pretty much every match I play. This also tells me why Veigar feels almost invincible for me in most of my games when I play him because the low elo thing gives Veigar a massive buff.

Not going to lie, as a jg main, I've made this mistake a few times before when I started playing the game and was so confused on what just happened. I now know not to fuck with an Illaoi if her abilities are up.
Dirtymobs (a challenger Illaoi main) often explains in his videos that when a gank is coming in you always E the jungler because 90% of the time they are forgetting about her E and don't try to dodge unlike the enemy to planer who has spent the past few minutes trying to avoid it.

Usually I ban pub stomp champions so my team doesn't feed them. I've had too many mids/tops hard feed against something and lose the game because of it.

Never saw Illaoi as a strong champion except for her ultimate in team fights. Darius, on the other hand, is a real problem. But he is less of a problem now that the Stridebreaker dash is gone.
OMG a guide to play against certain champs, I needed this for many many more champs for example how to play against Shaco, Katrina, Senna, etc.

What people don't realize is that when Illaoi lands her E, you have two choices. 1) Stay tethered and take hits while she's at a safe distance, or 2) Walk away, get slowed and spend some time dodging/clearing tentacles. Both of these choices severely affects the point of laning phase. You're distracted and lose on minions. Illaoi hunkers down and makes you run away.
As someone who started playing league like a month ago I thought illaoi was so much fun and so strong because she was the first champ I started truly stomping toplaners with. Now my soul is crushed upon finding out she’s the worst champ in the game.

Except Tristana E is point and click whereas Illaoi E is a skillshot - and one that you have to stay in range for while she attacks it for it to be any use. Also , Tristana has mobility and a long-auto range, Illaoi does not. In a perfect scenario Illaoi can one-combo 90% of the champions in the game, it's your job to make sure that perfect scenario never happens.

Fun fact, if you have tr Illaoi curse on, this is a 100% way to do not being hit by the tentacles. Found a circular structure, as a tower, inhibitor, nexus, etc and then... just star walking around the circle. As it goes the tentacles only track your path once you activated his range, but if you still moves the tentacle doesn't change the trajectory

Darius is strong just running people down. The window to win trades into is narrower than the average top laners IMO and that's why us low ELO players struggle.
It's apparent that many Illaoi players don't know her well. Last night our Nocturne was late to lane and missed a whole wave and still managed to run her down and kill her the moment Noc got to lane.

Illaoi is a very macro demanding champion, who is punished severely if over extended and misses E. Map awareness of enemy jungle and mid roam is critical. The key to illaoi is to have strong discipline when using E, only using it when it is free to land. Knowing matchups is also vitally important for illaoi. Some enemy team comps she can 1v5 while not even being fed. She has a very rock-paper-scissors type gameplay when it comes to enemy team comp. The value Illaoi brings to the table is being able to starve enemy top lane of gold/xp, forcing ganks to be focused on her while your team extracts value elsewhere on the map

When I start playing GP I was thinking that Darius was a really bad matchup, later when I reach gold (yup I was bronze), I understand if he miss E he can't do nothing relevant. Even better was when I realized how his Q works, every time he hits E just move near to him, you have more chance to dodge her Q AOE moving near to him than tryin scape

Honestly, i dont think a Q Lvl 1 for the low elo Ornn would be helpful either. Darius was behind the enemies minionwave, only the 3 casters would help Ornn. So either he would lost all 6 XP from the First wave or try to trade with W. Its an Lvl 1 Darius with probably conqourer and Passive. You dont want to fight as a Tank against this. You got no damage for long fights.
The second Ornn got more luck. Darius doesnt cut his way of to the minionwave.

It's not that "OP" champs are better by design, they just give you harder time to figure them out. And this is probably the hardest thing for low elo players. They don't focus and think deeply about mechanics. They just see spells, but don't think about cool downs.
At what point does riot think that making annoying champions that are bad makes the game better
It's the same reason grocery stores stock esoteric products that actually sell for a loss overall - customers with individual tastes that prefer that item are more likely to come to the store and buy other products. In League, more people that like playing Illaoi or beating her will play the game.

I have two things to say. One related to Darius having that high BR and one related to title but they are related. I am not hight elo, I almost dont even play ranked games ( just placements to get silver with few games if I get bronze ) but I played few games against smurfs and even specifically against 160K mastery Darius main from D1 limit testing at draft ( I will never ever forget that game ). Ultimately I got destroyed but he ran ignite and I faced him with phase rush rune as Fiora and both times he soloed me, before I got camped by angry nunu, he himself almost died ( less than 1% HP left ), so I guess that I do pretty OK when it comes to micro.
Now here is the thing. Darius isnt necessarily banned because of LP but because of game experience and he is also one of these champions that lose to teamplay rather than individuals. Here comes second thing I think that its bit unfair saying that certain champions are noobstompers exactly for the reason of being noob as an opponent because as I said, there are bunch of champions that need teamplay to take them down. I have heart countless times from ppl at D2 and higher that Yi is busted and that they have no problem dealing with him at their own elo but its completely different thing when they are smurfing, especially when Yi himself is another smurf. So while I guess some champions are better at low elo simply because ppl are too lazy to read what their spells do, there are also champions who are held back by the fact that this is teamgame which at low elo is not inherently valid fact.
They dont require teamplay to defeat really unless they get fed. The problem with yi when smurfing or even in yout elo is that he always seems to get a random double kill at the start of every game and then even if YOU are playing properly someone will fuck up and die to him again and then he snowballs out of control.
Illaoi has always been a joke to me while playing fiora, I need to still learn the darius matchup but im doing my beat, this defo helps

Unless they revert Illaoi E to the old one that had counterplay other than "just dodge it bro lol" I dont see a way for riot to buff her, E is just too toxic of an ability. The issue with illaoi is that her E is impossible to miss if YOU start the trade on her so it puts all the pressure on her to throw it out and miss it for her to be even remotely fightable as if you do go in for a trade before she wastes it you automatically lose unless youre playing some champ with like 11 dashes. My frustration with the champion is that if I dont have a jungler that ever comes topside before shes level 6, I usually just have to farm because she will NEVER throw her E if its not guarunteed by me making the silly mistake of trying to fight her at all ever, so the lane just becomes a boring uninteractive farm lane waiting for her to get impatient and throw E. If she does miss the E for whatever reason 100% shes not a champion anymore, although if they max it first its cd isnt really very long. Also "just run out of the ult" is fine advice but the damage it deals on the first slam is often enough to just straight up kill you if not force your recall. Basically I feel like youre misinterpreting why she is banned. She takes away your agency to win your own lane assuming she does nothing other than farm and only uses her E to punish youre aggressive plays so that she always wins. Whats worse is you dont ahve the same outscale in teamfights/1v1 win condition you have against darius most of the time as illaoi at all stages of the game can pretty much 100-0 you with a landed E and an R. If illaoi had any real way to actually teamfight against ranged champions other than hope they run into her tentacles she would be 100% broken and pick ban in every elo.

@@Sepulcherdk I get what you mean but shes a lane bully, shes meant to be strong in lane. Other lane bullies that can get in and out of e/ult range are meant to be her weakness (which is exactly what you described). Taking away the agency of you winning lane is what makes a lane bully strong.

I love playing Illaoi ( idk the reason ) but there is no match-up where I'm not scared to death . 1 gank from the enemy jg and Illaoi is basically a glorified minion in the laning phase .

Buffing her would make her unbearable in low elo, she's a pretty cancerous design who CAN'T be buffed without negatively impacting the health of the game because her mere PRESENCE in a match lowers the quality of gameplay for everyone. The strongest counterplay to her is to just IGNORE her because you literally can't fight her ever as most champions and she can't do anything about you simply walking away, and that's not good design for the Illaoi player or her enemies... or her teammates for that matter. She just needs a rework.

When I play against Illoai she is by far the most "just dodge" champion. The windups are so slow it makes it so easy to dodge.
When I pick Illoai I have so much fun because it's so funny that they can't dodge the most telegraphed abilities in the game.
Aaaand then there is me. I suck at dodging her E even though I play her lol!

My first main was illaoi… as soon as I reached silver she became unplayable. I got so frustrated by the lack of mobility after they changed stridebreaker that I started playing champs with a shit ton of mobility like Akali and Yone, the complete opposite while still being as cancer to lane against

I'm in silver and I always thought her strength was when you shoved into her because she had tentacles set up, and so I just kept getting hard shoved and never wanted a gank because if she lands her ult, her lifesteal and DMG is so so high. But this makes sense lol

Yes and no. Illaoi is weak if all 5 players in your team know how to play her (which is why Illaoi is terrible in proplay) but in soloque most toplaners dont know how to counter her.
So if Riot buffs Illaoi the players who dont know how to play vs her will make her winrate increase to 55% or something like that.

Some heroes are "noob tube" by design. Having easy to learn/win with heroes at low level play and then they get wrecked at high level play.

Darius is not weak after nerfs. He still counters a lot of peak champions like riven or nasus, or strong ones like irelia, fiora. Darius is banned because it makes the first 10-15 minutes of the game unplayable. You either lose hard or play even. You never win lane. And you want to be winning lane.

I'm pretty sure all the champs you mentioned can beat Daruis. Even nasus+sheen at lvl 6 beats Daruis. There are worst champions to fight toplane smh.
All Nasus got to do level 1-6 is just to chill behind his wave anyway, which is what he does vs 99% of all top lane matchups, so how is that any different to how he plays vs Darius? Once he gets his Sheen and is level 6, he can easily all in Darius though.

I think the hardest part about playing illaoi is that she is completely rng. Nobody knows what she does, I don't, you don't, the pros don't even the devs don't. She was made by chat-GPT before that went public and riot never bothered to check the work. If you watch really closely at an illaoi main playing her you will notice a confused face as he's shamshing the keyboard, pressing random buttons and hoping they do something only to realize that he doesn't really know what they should be doing ! 😂😂
