Worked great on my 2015 C300! Connected red to red/white wire and black to brown (ground). Light stays on as long as daylight running lights are on. Thanks!!
Does the brightness of the star change during the day or night? The DRL brightness changes so I'm curious to if the star's brightness changes too.
I recently purchased the Mercedes Benz LED star and at first it looked difficult but after watching your YOU TUBE video it wasn’t difficult at very easy and everything was just as you said very good instructions and easy to follow

AfzaMoto, thanks for this video. I followed it and it has worked on my 09 C200K. However I do not have DRL, so I wired it to the fog lights below in the same spot, and when I unlock the car the star lights up. And I can also turn the star on and off, just as I can with the foglights. It's really addictive modifying the MB, can't stop! The easiest place to wire the emblem to are the orange / yellow side marker lights.
There's only two wires attached to the bulb a ground and a power. It's super easy and easily reversible.

@@JuiceForJuice you're welcome the other way, is too complicated and so many things can go wrong.
The worst case scenario you have to replace a side marker indicator over a fried headlight.
09 C300. I wired in to right/passenger side headlight as there is more room. Strip away some of the protective covering. Black to brown wire. Red to smaller gray/red wire. It lights up when you first press the key fob on entry and when headlights come on at night. My car has fog lights and not the day time runners.
The star lights are LED and the main car headlight is hologen lights. Wouldn't this put too much power to the LED star light?
NO. There Are Resitors In The Star.

Thanks! Did this on my wife's 2013 C250 and the video was invaluable! I still don't understand when the lower LED lights that we tapped into are on?! I could only get them to come on with the engine running and never really noticed before. But thanks. The 2013 is not the screw out type and we needed to know to remove the grill to get it out.
last year i wired some daylight lights to my sidelights myself and car has been fine - today i decided to fit one of these badge type on the grille - it works with my headlights but i noticed my glow coil is coming on while diving then dissappears also the engine management light is permenantly on. so i dissconnected this grille light but still same errors - so i had to get the codes cleared and car is fine now.
Good video. Would want to do this to my e550 but I think I'd rather it be connected to my headlights. You don't need the star to light up during the daytime. Just would be a waste in my opinion.

When I purchased my 2015 E 350 4matic a few weeks ago, I worked the illuminated led star in the deal. They had my car for several days thinking they had the wrong harness to hook it up but they discovered the had the correct one. I believe they haven't installed too many of these lights... My question is... My light does not illuminate very bright (you can barley tell that it is on). It there a way that I can adjust the illumination of the lights from behind the star? Cutting with the cable is not professional. I did it that way and unfortunately the fog lights are now smoking. I have to go to the workshop tomorrow. 🙁
I had the illuminated star installed on my 2010 C300 yesterday, and the only time it will work is when I use the fog light (the one that shines brightly in the rear...I actually have to pull out the car light knob to activate the star) . I don't want the emblem illuminated with my daytime running lights, but when I drive at night with the regular lights, I want the star illuminated. What do I need to do to accomplish this? What do I need to ensure it's wired to?
used park lights but was a lil harder then it sounds, finding the right wire. I'm guessing the headlights have a relay inside them
im trying to find the parking light wire. can you help plz ?
i even bought the fuse tap but it doesnt look safe to connect it to the fuse box specially regarding the earth wiring. so ive tried to look for the parking light but cant find it ... any suggestions?

Hi Richard, Thank you. I would try Amazon or Ebay and just type Star Emblem for CLS550. After that you may wanna double check the dimensions, if dimensions are same if should work. Good Luck and thank you for watching my video.

this is a incorrect installation. you use the LED driver located on the passenger side firewall, it has two open wago like connectors, just strip and push in to install. this method puts I'm proper load on your leds, by splitting the mili/amps incorrectly. this is on the 2018's I'm not sure about 16,17's
Why can't you just run a fuse tap to the ignition fuse box to power the LED star? Your star would then come on when the ignition is on and would avoid any wire splicing or messing with vehicle lighting.

My car is 2012 C300 4 Matic black.This Mercedes is your car?Do you change the halogen bulbs interior or exterior with led?I just change the reverse one with Philips 1156 led replacing the 7056 halogen yellow but I received error message on the dashboard because I don't use the Canbus warning canceller 21 w,I love the bright white of Philips but I need to returned because I don't know what cable to punch in order ro instal the canceller and I found on aznoptics a led bulb canbus ready but now is out of stock.So,the star stay on all the time or only when you press lock-unlock button?
mine is 2012 bluetec 1.8L turbo, no I have not changed the halogen bulbs. Mine works with the daylight, yeah it works with the daytime running lights.
I need to removed all that parts in order to put that cable until the DRL?
+Diana Liu I am not sure if you have the same parts. Try not to force anything out. Take your time and do one thing at a time. Watch my video and see if you have similar parts.

continued do u or anyone know if this caused by light or pure coincedence as car was fine before install no errors. the computer said 3rd glow plug o/c surely if its a glow plug then error will come back again straight away

I am not sure but maybe you can use parking light connection.
I just used T-taps on my side parking lights. Why bother stripping wires when you don't need to. Also, why connect to DRL's? Makes no sense when they dim when lights come on. Connecting to parking lights has them on at full/normal brightness anytime the lights come on. Don't make things more difficult then they need to.
So would that fit on a 2017 sprinter van?

Hi Erik, You can use parking lights or fog light connection, but you will need to turn on the fog lights to turn on the star light. Thanks and good luck
I connected it to foglights and it still works, and yes, need to turn it on manually. But when you unlock the car they turn on anyway!

+Nick Blinow Hi Nick, my day time running lights stay on all the time when I push unlock button on the remote and when the car is on/running. Star is not connected to the headlights. So it does not matter if the head lights are on or off. It is connected to the daytime running light only. Please let me know if you need any other info, thanks for watching my video.

Does anyone know where i can find the illuminated star for that year and model? and is there any chance you and do a diy vid on connected it (or any other illuminating device) to a switch within the cabin. Preferably something that looks stock or just classy?

no problem but i have another question. After i installed the emblem i my car would not start and i started seeing the srs warning and a abs warning in the dash. Would the emblem have something to do with it or did my battery go?

Lmao it's a good video except for the electrical tape and razor blade part .. don't get me wrong it will work but you should always have the proper tools and materials for a clean job that you never have to go back to other than that good shit

No, star is different on it. It's a twist kind.

+Abdullah Gondal, wiring configuration can be with the daytime running light, or any other light that can provide 12 volts, such has parking light etc. Its a low amp light so you don't need too much amps. It can also be connected in the fuse box. It also depends on the light you will be purchasing. In any case here is what i recommend.
1. Figure out how to install the star by removing your existing emblem, hopefully its the twist kind and you won't have to take the grille out. If not procedure might be same as mine. Try it and let me know.
2. Figure out if you want to connect it with a light, such as daytime running light or parking light or any other, assuming that you have a two wire connection like mine, if so, double check if you can easily access and connect the wires.

+Brandon C, it will not look anything like your daytime running light. So basically at night time it will look good and bright. My car was parked in the garage, I made the video at night time. Try it in a dark area and check. If it looks dim then return it and use some other vendor.

The wires should be soldered, and traced better through the side lining , plus battery should have been disconnected for safety, poor video😔
