The European Train Odyssey - from Waterloo to Warsaw

Back in the old days, when we could travel and go places, I decided to travel around Europe by train for a few weeks, to see places that I had not yet seen, and to have a chat with Europeans before we left Europe, to find out what they thought about things.
These are a few snapshots of the first stage of that odyssey, images from a two-day train trip from Waterloo to Warsaw, a journey that I could have made in two hours by plane.
A certain climate activist from Sweden had planted in my mind the seed of the alternative choice, and as the miles passed at a slower speed, I could see the attraction of seeing how the landscapes changed, rather than passing overhead at 30,000 feet, and with a lot less CO2 consumed too.
