these guys act like Goncalo Ramos is prime R9 on the bench and Cristiano's ego is holding him out of the starting XI. Ramos has scored 14 goals for PSG in 2 seasons and 0 in the UCL. he had one flukey hattrick against Switzerland and they think Haaland is sitting on the bench. Ronaldo is still the best striker they have by a mile. most of Portugal's players around him - Felix, Bernardo, Leao, Fernandes, etc., have all not played well so far this Euros. i have hardly seen them produce any chances for Ronaldo to score from. like Bernardo and Leao have been objectively awful and yet they only focus on Ronaldo who, despite not scoring, has looked good, linked up well, and played pretty neatly. i've never seen a player get as much hate. so many people have been praying for his downfall since he left Real Madrid.

Due to three things: georgia was a more balance side and was fighting to stay in the competion. Also, they were more creative than portugal with less mistakes. We lost due to a young player who made 2 mistakes that led to the goals.

Portugal’s over-reliance on Cristiano Ronaldo is an issue and it’s the only thing that’s gonna truly stop them from winning the EUROs. During their loss to Georgia, he was supposed to have been fully rested since they topped the group and advanced to the RD of 16, instead he was on the pitch doing absolutely nothing other than whining about a penalty call and he ghosted throughout that game. It’s a great thing to have Ronaldo in the squad because he’s a great player and he has so much experience at the highest level, it’s very obvious to many people that he’s well past his prime and he’s not a difference maker for the national team in a way he used to be. No one is saying that to disrespect him, we have to come to terms with that. Yes there’s a difference in scoring goals in Saudi Arabia and stat padding against lower opposition teams in European qualifiers and international friendlies and translating that form into a major tournament and after 3 games at the EUROs, he has yet to score a goal. It’s the first time ever where he’s ended the group stage in a major tournament without scoring a goal. You can’t really expect much from him since the guy is 39 years old and he’s literally a poacher, there are games where he’s a passenger in the team he doesn’t really track back and his antics are absolutely frustrating to watch and he hasn’t changed it because he still complains whenever his teammates don’t pass him the ball he’s always shouting at them and then when he gets substituted he gets mad and this is the same sort of behavior that saw him benched at the last World Cup and given the options that they have in their attack, is it time for Roberto Martinez to make that big decision and bench Ronaldo which would hurt his big ego.
They have scored 5 goals in 3 games at the EUROs without him getting on the score sheet and even if he does find his shooting boots and starts scoring goals, it’s important for other players to step up and deliver even if they win this tournament. Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva are in their prime and they should be the ones carrying the team, Rafael Leao also needs to do more as in the first 2 games he’s had more yellow cards dives and suspensions than actual output in the final third and for someone who’s seen as a “world class winger” and the face of this team once he’s no longer there, he has to play better, it’s the same thing for Joao Felix and others on the team because you can’t rely on Ronaldo forever. They have such a tough bracket as they’ll have to play against the likes of France Spain or Germany on their potential road to the final, if Portugal really want to win the EUROs either drop Ronaldo and if he’s on the pitch the team should be revolve around other players.
