Lake Roosevelt's Kokanee fishery is back on the upswing and we may just see the state record fall this year. It took me a couple days of tough kayak fishing on the big lake to find my two fish limit of these massive landlocked Sockeye.
    Thanks for watching!

Question, what cooler do you use?

Kayak cooler/fish bags that I really enjoy have always been elusive. For Kokanee I use a Performance Fishing Gear cooler bag from Columbia but they no longer make it so I am still in the lurch on what's next.

They don't have hatchery Kokanee anymore, they ended that program, so all you get is unclipped ones.

Great video! Do you ever troll backwards on your kayak? I've been doing that on my Hobie and it seems like it is much easier to see the strikes and fight the fish this way. I've even used a bike mirror on my glasses to watch what is happening behind me and avoid getting in anyone's way.

Sometimes especially when fly fishing but in combat fisheries such as Lake Roosevelt or the Columbia forward is the only real option.
