What does being a disciple of Christ mean to you?
Act like Him, loving others like He did
doing his work, ministering to others in times of need
It means to follow him whatever it takes. He's proved how much he cares about me no matter what, so no matter what my circumstances, I will follow him. That's what it means.
There are two hymns I think of, I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go (number 270), and A Poor Wayfaring Man Of Grief (number 29), both of these hymns talk about stuff that being a disciple of Christ means to me
To have Him be the most influential figure in my life.
Being a disciple of Christ means that I can do anything. I know he is there to support me during hard times. My sophomore year in high school was especially hard for me, but because he was there for me, I know that he was helping me the whole way through. I didn’t make the best of choices, but through his resurrection, and atonement, I can put those bad decisions behind me and move forward. Right now I am a senior in high school, and couldn’t be happier for the things I believe in. I am a son of God and will never deny what I know to be true. I decided not too long ago to serve a mission, and know that no matter where I go, Jesus Christ will be there for me, helping me get through my trials and tribulations. Jesus loves us all and we are God’s Children. ❤️

Your story is quite similar to mine. I'm so excited to be more involved with the Church and go on my mission soon after I graduate.
:) I agree. It kind of relates to last year's theme of "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." I gained a strong testimony of that truth last year. My sophomore year (the end of it during January - May 2023) was also very hard but I agree that the Lord was with me. This may sound strange, but I want you to know that I'm proud of you for choosing to serve a mission. I am a daughter of God and I know it with all my heart. I love the Young Women's theme. I also am choosing to serve a mission when I turn 19. I'm 16 almost 17 currently. I agree!

Being a disciple of Christ means loving God, and others as I would love myself. Every commandment, every ordinance, and everything we do in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints points towards our Father's love and our Savior's love. I testify Their love is perfect and is ALWAYS available for you to experience and feel, no matter what you've done. The Atonement of Jesus Christ applies to everyone, and I know because He rescued me from sin as a gay man when I was in my 20s (I am 34 now). Jesus is real and His commandments are liberating. 🙏❤️

the disciples were called disciples because they were in the very presence of Christ, they were there when he was here on earth in person. So if anyone on this earth today is a true disciple, Know that its rare, and God and only God makes that call. Also understand, that these very few and rare people must go threw a very troubling time, being tested in all areas of life spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally. however once reborn again, being really saved, God counts these ones as extreemly special and capable of all things.... read the gospels threw. and then acts, then you will understand. God bless and may the God of peace, love and care rule your world.
When my dear friend killed herself I couldn't function. All I could do was cry for two weeks straight. My anguish and grief were causing me to stray away from the gospel. My dad forced me to go to an activity at Haaga. I was on my phone the whole time barely keeping myself together. It wasn't until we blessed the food that I put it down. I had my own prayer in my head and asked to be able to live without this extreme pain and to function again. The moment I ended the prayer I felt the weight of the world lifted off of my shoulders. I was so confused. I suddenly felt so light. It still hurt to have her gone, but I was able to live again. For the first time in two weeks I was able to wipe the tears out of my eyes and smile ❤
What an amazing experience. God truly answers our prayers❤

Would you like to know what happened?
I quit smoking, vaping, cussing (pretty much) and drinking, and was working so hard to get my patriarchal blessing.
I was happy. And then...
I received such a spiritual...I don't know what to call what I experienced...
A faith challenge? A spiritual journey that affected my abilities to cope by myself, and I think that what I've endured may have triggered what is known as the NPD gene. Now, I'm fit for ....?
Who is gonna want an autistic woman with trauma so intense that only the bravest and most resilient of people would want her?
Yeah that's gonna be a reeeeally reaaaallllly "fun time" explaining to any possible suitor...
"Hi, yeah hey nice to meet you. I used to be a lot more fun, but then I started getting visions and promptings and my ex husband used that in court as an excuse to gain custody of 2 of my kids, and I actually thought about unaliving myself... But hey, I'm learning German because I have this tiny ray of hope that it may actually come in handy sometime, and I need to feel like my life has some semblance of purpose since being a mother seems to have been ripped away from me, and oh! My family! Yeah, so my dad is a narcissist, and my mom has BPD...but both of them are in such denial of their psychological issues that they've actually treated me like I'm the crazy one of the family, even though I'm the only one who seems to have been intelligent (or autistic) enough to accept the fact that trauma based personality disorders run rampant through our gene pool, and I guess perhaps telling your parents or siblings that they're also autistic with personality disorders and ADHD seems to be an insult, rather than a blessed answer as to why they behave the way they do..."
So I really hope that if a man has the balls to take on the magnificent ME, that he's got a really great family who is kind and thoughtful and caring and funny and loving and not afraid of being around people who actually talk about what they're feeling, because I've missed having a family that doesn't act like ... The biblical word for mules!
...and since talking badly about others isn't very nice, it's probably a good idea if I just don't have anything to do with my family members who actually have treated me with so much neglect, abuse, rejection, indifference, and cruelty that I've had pretty angry thoughts that involved a lot of .... negativity...
and by "negativity" I mean like...
I kind of want to slap my sister in her face...
with my fist...
but as that isn't very nice or the way a disciple of Christ is supposed to behave (so I've gathered 😂) I think I would like to marry a man whose family isn't a bunch of ...

I love this song. To me, being a disciple of Christ means doing only those things that help me grow close to Him, or in other words, submitting my will to the will of Heavenly Father. If it drives the Spirit away, such as listening to a song or watching something where the Lord’s name is taken in vain, I will turn it off. If I am with a group of people that are not being kind, I will leave. I may be limited in regard to the options of things I can listen to or watch, or people I can spend my time with (which has required me to be lonely many times), but like the Savior, my Kingdom is NOT of this world. I know that the Spirit is always there to buoy me up. I can truly say that I am a disciple of Christ when I do these things.

We just finished our online seminary class and this was our closing hymn. It has a great message that reminds us of our mission here on earth and that is to become disciples of Christ in every aspect of our lives. :)

That's cool that you do online seminary. I do too. I agree with what you said. I'm a junior and I have done online seminary since freshman year. Online seminary is awesome, especially since I'm introverted. I will go in-person once or twice this semester and then a few times my senior year. This is an awesome closing hymn! I do online school now (as of this year), and so before I start my schoolwork or seminary, I'll read the quote and verse of the day on the Gospel Library app, say a prayer, and listen to this song. It really helps me, especially when I pray to be able to focus, concentrate, and get my schoolwork done soon. I can get distracted easily, so this routine helps me be more productive. I recommend it, even if you go to school and come home and do homework, or even in an in-person seminary class.
Can't wait for this new theme to impact my life now and all this next year! Fire song and keep up the great work!

For me, as a disciple of Christ, my hope would be that each and every person I come in contact with would leave our interaction having felt a little of their Saviours love through me, whether they recognise what it was they were feeling or not. I want to be a window to His love. Such a beautiful song. Beyond grateful for all the wonderful music created for our youth. 48 years old and guarantee I listen to it all as much as our youth, if not more. 🤣
