He's been given enough credit together with Desmondchild. It's just that Jon is the frontman/lead vocal not Richie. Jon was looking for a guitarist before and found Richie, and I think Richie agreed to play with them not as lead vocalist but as a back up singer or lead guitarist. And during Jon's prime, you can't deny the fact that his voice is amazing, it's just that his voice suffered a lot as you mentioned.

I am absolutely blown away at Jon Bon Jovi's vocals in his live performances. He is flawless singing this. The same goes for Ritchie's voice. If you want to hear another stellar live performance check out Cheap Trick singing The Flame {Daytona 1988} Robin Zander's voice is pitch perfect. Another beautiful ballad. It is definitely worth a listen. Ah...the good old days when artists could actually sing.

TheMagpie4Real - I fully agree. It feels more sentimental with the unplugged version and feels more powerful and emotional on the album. Lost Highway is one of their best albums in my eyes. So many beautiful and memorable songs for me.

His voice may have weakened towards the end - but it felt like his "soul" was stronger than ever... don't know how else to put it.
TheMagpie4Real - Oh I hear ya! His covers of Desperado and especially Bridge Over Troubled Water and Hurt off American Recordings IV: The Man Comes Around are hauntingly beautiful. I watched the video for Hurt. I just felt the emotions pour out.

Love this song, it's so beautiful. Love the way that Jon and Richie's voices blend so well. The lyrics are so beautiful and touching. One of my very favorite songs, I listen to it almost every day.
This song is "beautifully painful". I kinda feel haunted by it. It brings both joy and pain with the memories of my late better half. Wish we could have made more memories, laughed more, danced more, hugged more, etc.... This song, literally, takes my breath away ❤️ 💔
