Myth about El Dorado....graphic shows a Coupe DeVille....are they even really trying?
In the demonstration graphic it's a coupe deville but the one they blow up is for sure an eldorado. Dead give away is the stainless steel top and the slight bustle back trunk

Better episodes than last time. It was at least entertaining. Still a problem with it though that they call it MythBuster but don’t do the science that MythBusters did. They should have done research on where the best place to put the steel plate, if maybe putting it at a slight angle to change the trajectory, maybe a couple of different sizes of explosives, so many variables that need worked out before they go test. And if they do that on any of the myths they haven’t shown it even in passing. But again at least this one was entertaining
Wouldn't it be possible mobsters cars were modified unofficially remember who controlled the labor unions and other parts of the work pool in many city's so do wonder

I'm thinkin that the gangster mistook the giant 80s catalytic converter for a "steel plate". What would a mobster know about cars?

If I remember correctly it was a plate under the seat where the seat motors were bolted to.
Just what I had read, the floor didn’t have the steel plate, but it was in the seat. Also, in the movie (yes I know it wasn’t a documentary) but the bomb fizzled long enough for him to get out before the bomb blew.

Dibbs they really think a1/4" steel plate would protect a person in the car from a dynamite blast.
In the movie the dynamite was under the passenger seat.
Such a shame they destroyed this amazing classic cadillac. With a little work it could have been a head turner. Imagine how many classic cars get destroyed in movies and tv shows that are classics such a waste to get rid of cars you'll never see produced again.
A lot are replicas. See Christine. There's no engine in the Camaro in the gas station explosion.

I don't think that they made any effort to determine how much explosive was used. Obviously , this was far more than what was used back then.

My mind is blown that Tory is in his 50s now. He was a young man what feels like a few years ago but I guess it's been about 20
We don't get to see the conclusion on this tease video but shouldn't the plate have been under the car which would have deflected the blast before it struck the car body
Also the blast looks much stronger than in the movie
Also with them testing it over a different terrain would result with a different blast radius based on where the forced is projected and absorbed

What you need is spall liners. The back shall is 3 times more likely to kill you than the initial blast.
Wait, hold on, marvel is a company which makes movies. I never thought that a blast proof piece of steel plate was made by marvel. I learned something new today.

tory looks like he just cant be arsed and just woke up hungover half of the time.
faye is just there so it isnt a total sausage fest, despite being the most compitent mechanic between the three.
