    Bud I've just stumbled on to this channel, but I love it. I was mentored by SC guys back in the day due to rocking an 810, and you guys are a rare breed and some tenacious SOBs when it comes to racing. Great job again! You just earned another sub...

    Thank you very much for the videos. I raced pan cars in the early 90's and am just now getting back into it. Your videos have been tremendously educational. As I'm older now (much) my investment and research level are as well. I've tried watching other CZcams videos on RC cars, but the vast majority may know their RC acumen, they sorely lack the personality to be facing a camera, let aloe talking into one. I've found your insight, experience, breadth of knowledge to be priceless. I've since spent several grand, and am confident that I've made some educated decisions/investments, based on the knowledge you've kindly shared. Keep it up, i've lots more to learn!

    Thanks for the tips Jason, I got the lipo bag, a Plano tool box and made the tire cleaner. I also got a pit light and it came with a magnifying window to look through, it's pretty helpful. Next is the drill and calipers but these were awesome for a new driver like me. Thanks again!

    I personally use a round ice cube tray for all my hardware. I got the idea from my dad who is an electronics technician. It's nice because you can put all the little pieces and hardware in steps wile taking it apart and work in reverse as you put it back together. Simple, cheap and hard to beat.

    @5:13 I call it a clutch, many drills have the adjustable clutch on it to prevent stripping screws. Used to be your best friend before the new impact drivers today.

    The yoga block car stand is genius. I used my knife and dremmel tool to create an indention to fit the chassis, about 1.5 inches deep in the top of the block, rather than cutting the block to fit the chassis--I tried it both ways (the blocks were 2 for 5 bucks) and with the block cut, it tends to move around, whereas where I cut into the block on the top and left the base alone, it is much more stable. Add stickers, and it looks like a factory stand (but it works better). Thanks for the idea!

  • @brando555555
    @brando555555 Před 8 lety

    Nice idea with the tire tub I gotta try that one.
    Another thing I found that works really good for a car stand especially 1/8 is those medium sized parts bins that they sell at home depot, menards, lowes, or probably even the dollar store...the ones that are stackable or attach to your pegboard just flip it over and it makes a good 1/8 buggy stand. I stickered it up and painted it and it looks like the ones you would buy from Jconcepts or some of the other plastic stands. All you need is some cupboard liner or rubber feet in the corners to keep the car from slipping. You can get real creative with it too like gluing magnets to the side to hold your odds and ends like drivers, screws,wrenches, or drill some holes in the top and use it as a shock stand.

    For the tire cleaning tub I used a cheap container similar to yours from Walmart also found a 4" long scrub brush with no handle from there also. I used 100% silicone to attach scrub brush to plastic tub then while silicone was still fresh I ran 2 small screw thru the bottom into the plastic handle of brush to make sure it wouldn't go anywhere followed by putting silicone around screw head to make sure there is no leaks.

    I've been racing for decades now and I still don't have a car stand, I just put my buggy on a couple buggy tires and they hold it right there easy to work on.
    I don't use nitrol fuel line clamps I just put little quarter inch nitro fuel line over the end then push them over the nipple areas on the fuel line to act as hose clamps.
    Fishing tackle boxes still work excellent as parts and tool storage for those racing on a shoestring or starting out.

    Anybody that doesn't have a reamer, get one. I didn't think I'd ever use one but I end up using it all the time. way faster than having to pull out a drill and hook it up to make a nasty hole. bodys, chassis holes, tie rod ends, wing mount holes
