    I was hoping you had some insight on the blade height adjustment. Mine was working fine then, one day, it just got stuck at 3-1/2, which is too low for my lawn. I took the phillips screw out of the black plastic number plate, but you really can't see much from there. The spring in there is not attached on the lower end either. I shook the handle around, but it's really stuck.

    I am buying one tomorrow and it needs a neutral safety switch for reverse. Is it just a wire plug, or something more major? Could you show me?

    I haven't looked under mine yet, but the deck height adjustment isn't functioning, so it is just riding on the 3 deck wheels all the time. I am not sure how the mechanism works yet. Have you had any similar issues before?

The engine kept running but the deck completely shut off. I'm sure it's my charging system cause even with a brand new battery I have to keep jump starting it....what are your thoughts?....

      I'm tearing into a Peerless five speed right now. What a PITA to even get the transaxle out. There's a maybe 10 carriage bolts with the nuts to the inside of the frame that are next to impossible to get a socket/ratchet on. I spent six evenings working on removing the pulley which resulted in finally the whole shaft and pulley came out of the transmission and I then put into a press and separated the pulley from the shaft. The pulley will have be replaced now as it's totalled bent and narfed up. The Ubolts that hold the Xaxle to the frame bracket piece were seized to the aluminum housing and when they finally did come out a piece of the housing also broke off. Now, finally got the case split, Man-O-man that Bentonite grease is the most nasty crap on earth to try to clean off the gear/case. I'll replace the shift key set and put NLGI #0 corn head grease back in. Here's hoping you have Wwwaaayy better luck than I have on those little transmissions. bjr

    I have one just like this and I turn on the PTO, it runs for a minute then kicks off what's that all about? ( someone told me you have to have a least a little bit of charge in your battery for it to kick on, now I'm trying to change the spindles that have bearings above the blades and there's no way it's all one unit far as I can tell) then they also told me the little dial underneath the seat turns off and on the gas)

    • @icemancometh8679
      @icemancometh8679 Před 2 lety

      @Jimmy S You told me this about having your battery go dead and the PTO not working and it helped me-found out I had a bad voltage regulator and another guy emailed me and told me this was his problem-so thanks for the help. What do I do about the snap ring at the end of my tire axle? I pulled the tire off the back and now I think I need to replace a snap ring how difficult is that? Inside the transmission.

    • @evanstauffer4470
      @evanstauffer4470 Před 2 měsíci

      @@icemancometh8679 Not hard at all to replace the snap ring that holds the wheel on the axle if you buy a good pair of snap ring pliers first. Not sure what you mean by "inside the transmission", the snap ring that holds the wheel on the axle is external to the transmission. In any case, my advice is make it easy on yourself and buy a good pair of snap ring pliers, they will save you a lot of frustration.

    • @icemancometh8679
      @icemancometh8679 Před 2 měsíci

      @evanstauffer4470 I answered and I Comment didn't post. This may not work either. When you replace a Tire , all you have to do is take the snapping off. Not when it comes to my life - Murphy's law- If anything can go bad it will. My spendel was rested on to the hub. I had to use a Jack to pull the wheel off the spindle.And a snap Ring at the other end of the spendel gave way in the transmission. I took the spindle entire to the co op to have the tires replaced came back and Toward the transmission apart to replace the snappering - absolute nightmare. I can say I learned a lot from the experience.

      HI - not the right answer - it is a pressure switch that sits under the seat. It is designed to turn the engine off if it detects no-one is on the seat or someone has got off the mower - for safety. Most people ( including me ), , bypass it so you can get off for a short time.,
