Out of ALL the dumb challenges on this list "Hot Water", and "Car Surfing" challenge has gotta be the dumbest! 💀
Bean boozled destroyed me
TikTok needs to be aware and pull any videos that show anything that encourages people doing dangerous challenges or dares.
Take all the precautionary measures & consciousness
I nominate everyone to the common sense challenge. If something sounds stupid/dangerous then don't do it
It will never catch on.
And not receive pointless internet clout?? Whaaaaatttt????
@@genesisknight9948Chea sad but true
You mean the *un*common sense challenge?
I've been kicking ass at this challenge for 27 years!
Even as a child i knew drinking boiling water or tipping it on someone would probably kill you .
What a stupid trend!!
Right?
@Anonymous-cc5pn indeed
Thank you! Children are more aware than some people think they are. They're not stoopid, but want to be brave and be in the click or group and not seem scared of anything. Sure they're immature but simple things like drinking boiling water or playing around with chemicals is something they ARE smart enough to know those things will hurt them.
No more excuses. If you have children, please teach them about the unpleasant subjects you may not want to expose them to.
It just might save them someday.
yeah one would imagine getting one's tongue burnt once is enough to realize it's harmful 😸 apparently not 🤷
0:53 It was a dare from a cousin, so the little girl mistakenly thought it was all clear.
Parents, get your kids OFF of TikTok!
Exactly. Video content should be monitored.
Adults get off tiktok too
Americans should educate their children.
My mom refused to get off tik tok.
Amen!
Pouring boiling water on yourself is a challenge? What the hell is wrong with people?
Don’t forget the bleach challenge, where you drink bleach. It’s equally terrible
@@nicholasnguyen5181 oh yeah, we all remember Brad Teal, it's hard to find that video now.
@@cypherpunk12 yeah

Ya trends are like the new idiots idea
@Awoken777 some aren't bad. Like dancing trends aren't bad.
By better you mean smarter
Agreed.
I Agreed
The fact we are surrounded by so many stupid people is scary.
I wouldn’t want to call them stupid. As we heard many (not all) of the victims were children. Children aren’t stupid. They just aren‘t able to anticipate the outcome. It‘s in their nature and their brain function. It‘s just not developed enough. 😢
@@MaryJay371 Meh, that argument is valid only to a certain point. But the actions of some kids can be attributed to plain stupidity. Often they know better and still do it.
@@blueguy12345You are correct. My problem with the last challenge is how do you hold your breath till you die? Unless you are assisted like someone holding you under water I'd think you would just have to take a breath. Reminds me of how a man killed himself by hitting his own head with a hammer till he died.
@@blueguy12345they dont know b/c its the parents fault & society teachers can emphasize not to do deadly pranks. It's the evil of the net. And the neglect of governorship..like letting lose tick tock without regulations & accountability for money now AI..so its gonna be worst. Disgusting. People who invent these challenges should be put in jail and banned from social media.
Jail? How about these idiots not do dumb shit
Kept her spunk.
Who writes these! 🤣
This is coming from China and they are doing it on purpose
Who is the more foolish, the fool, or the fool who follows him?
Black out challenge was alive in the 1960’s for elementary school kids. You would hold your breath, while standing up, until you passed out and fell down.
I did that too. It was fun until I had a seizure.
What???
Yikes!@@vanessammiller3436
We did that in the 90s
I did that with my friends in grade school and we did it a little differently and it involved someone doing something similar to the heimlich maneuver and pass out in the play area at school

How is pouring boiling water on someone a "challenge" that is straight up assault.
Unless the person that they pour it on, gave their consent 😔😒
@@ddthewolfthat still assault love
Throwing 100°Celsius/212°Fahrenheit hot water on each other is crazy as hell 🤬
I suffered second degree burns at age 8 from a similar incident. Never again!
Once hot tea accidentally fell onto my penis and I screamed in pain lol.
It’s also criminal to do that to someone. It’s an assault!
@@fustigmawithdrlott. Correct
Its assault and battery not to mention stupid
The old saying, "If your friend jumps off a cliff, would you jump off it also..." Evidently, folks would for attention, social 'acceptance,' and affirmation of existence.
This is true.
It's sickening that people come up with these lethal challenges and think it's fun to make other people do it
Not acting stupid is the safest hardest challenge.

Me too
Shut up with this already. Keep that weird Darwin praise to yourself, people lost their lives.
I'd rather be hated than seek validation from those who propose these unsafe and incredibly stupid "challenges." It's not worth losing your life over.
To blame the ice bucket challenge for someone jumping into a quarry and drowning is a pretty ridiculous stretch. What exactly does one thing have to do with the other?
I came straight to the comments to see if I was the only person who was thinking that!! Thank you for confirming I’m not crazy!!
Has anyone else just completely lost all faith in humanity? 🤦
Long time ago!
Completely? Never, if only for the reason that losing all faith in humanity also includes losing all faith in yourself. But seriously, people who truly have lost all faith in humanity might as well retreat to the middle of nowhere and live the rest of their lives as misanthropes, because they contribute nothing.
If there's anything that makes me come close to that point it's comment sections on the Internet, much more so that what I saw in this video. The vile trash you can find there is often astounding and some of them don't even deserve the label "human" (certainly not the label "humane"). Assuming the comments aren't from bots, those people really do represent the cesspool of humanity. It's a shame that this particular cesspool never gets sanitized, though.
Probably since the start of the era of technology or so
I know i have
I'm still trying to hold on to it but each day gets hard and hard to continue to have faith in humanity
What kind of evil person would talk an 8 year old into drinking boiling water?
I still remember kids challenging each other to jump on and off moving freight trains in the early 1960s. A kid in my city lost his grip and his leg slipped under the wheels of the train. His leg was severed and he died on the spot. What a waste. I still remember the kid's poor mother on the tv begging kids not to do it anymore.
Don't forget the Tide Pod challenge, the Birdbox challenge, and that dancing outside of your moving car one. I can't remember which music video thay were imitating with that one.
I think the car dancing one was from Drake's "Started From The Bottom."
Pardon me, but could you recommend a wine to pair with Tide pods? Red or white? Thank you.
@@davidcox3076 I would definitely recommend Clorox it's just an amazing blend and aroma
@@christopherregan1654 i remember it being that 'kiki do you love me' song but then again i dont listen to modern billboard music so there is that to consider.
Our local drug store had to start locking up their tie pods because so many people came in trying to steal them for that dumb challenge 😒
burnt my finger touching one of those sparkly fireworks as a kid because I was curious. Was about 3-4 years old. Taught me a valuable lesson about pain and danger.
Your parents or grandparents learned this lesson from Sesame Street's Teeny Little Super Guy.
If people think doing dangerous stuff is cool, they're dead wrong, it's actually being stupid. Here's a message I have for people who think it's cool to act dangerous: "I think you're confusing coolness with stupidity." Remember, safety always comes first!
@billkikstra2225booooo grow up "its for your safety" isn't a excuse there is one argument and one argument alone that is this "fuck off I like making your decisions for you and giving you 0% input on the matter you do what I say" its not the best argument but its all you got
As Pee Wee Herman said in that one PSA, these could indeed be DEAD wrong.
@@JohnSmith-zw8vp what? Look policing a kids life will solve nothing unless your goal is to make them move out immediately after graduation then mission accomplished
every stunt worker would be out of a job with this logic
Same thing with frats . Oh the cringe when the bad parents want people to be on their side just cause their kid died . LOL
When I was in high school during the 1960s, the blackout challenge was a brief fad, though I don't recall what it was called then. Someone would stand behind the subject, who would exhale as much air from his lungs as he could. Then the person behind him would wrap his arms around his chest (from behind, of course) and squeeze until the subject passed out. I saw it once or twice but didn't try it, then or ever.
Car surfing is old enough that we did it in high school in the 80's! So popular that Michael J. Fox did it in Teen Wolf
And that's why you never do these dangerous challenges or otherwise you'll die like an idiot
Unfortunately there are a lot of people who believe they have no fear and think that by doing the "challenge" would give them bragging rights and attention. But it's just essentially asking people to harm themselves by doing this dangerous stunts. Especially when kids get involved. People who make up challenges like these deserve to go to prison for multiple murder charges. These stupid moron's so called "Challenges" are just a way to get people hurt or worse.
It is idiots that do them. 👍
They all died without dignity
Oh but think of all the views they'll get! 🙄🥴
I remember as a kid watching my friends constantly doing dumb and dangerous crap, illegal crap, and thinking "yeah, NO thanks", I actually enjoy being above ground and I'll try to stay that way for as long as possible... ya'll can be dumb, I'll just watch.
Cool to see my Professor Dr. Sonpal on the news going against the Benadryl Challenge. He’s an awesome teacher/Doctor😄
the blackout challenge has existed since long before social media/viral challenges. when i was in middle school it was just a game we played at sleepovers - you would literally choke yourself until you blacked out. i remember doing it once in a friend's closet (luckily that meant lots of clothing to cushion my fall when i passed out), seeing stars and then having a very brief "dream" before coming to on the floor. that was scary enough that i never did it again.
ohmygad. so sad that, that's what's the norm u grew up with.
NEVER have i ever heard of this.
I did this too with my friends about 30yrs ago. It was done with a friend pushing on your chest. You black out for less then 1 min
That is why I don’t follow trends
Seeing some of these challenges is making me glad I don't use certain apps
But the problem is not the app, I use TikTok a lot and only things I enjoy appear to me, their algorithm is really precise. There's a lot of good content creators. I've never seen these stupid challenges there.
same, this is why I never got tiktok
People have been doing stupid trends well before tiktok...or even the internet existed. Apps are just a tool. People are the issue.
@@notorioustori helps to have common sense too
Reason why I don't do TikTok. And I know consequences and safety. I just think kids nowadays don't know the consequences and safety measures like we do
Long before the internet, a teenager died when trying to mimmick a scene from the football movie The Program. Disney ended up removing the scene where football players laid down in the road while cars whizzed past.
It wasn't a "viral challenge" in 1993 but if that movie came out 25 years later it likely could have been.
That one chip challenge nearly killed my little brother. His internal organs started shutting down from it and he wrecked his truck a block from his house. Broken back, leg, ankle, hip. He’s lucky to be alive.
This is why I’ve always been ok with never taking a dare or doing something just to be cool-better to be uncool and alive than cool in a grave
My grandma had said this best. "I would rather be a live chicken than a dead duck!"
Can we just put an end to all dangerous internet challenges? Just because you wanna be like Jackass doesn't mean you have to be Jackass!
YES! DANGEROUS INTERNET CHALLENGES NEED TO STOP!
I remember there was one kid who ended up severely burned after dousing his hand with lighter fluid and setting himself on fire! He and his friends were making a video of themselves imitating stunts they saw on Jackass.
The problem is the lack of common sense and kids need to go viral nowadays. It's sad. I blame parents for letting internet raise their children
As a kid growing up the “ blackout challenge “ used to be called California high … I remember kids doing it then it lead to one girl I know having a seizure😥 I hope these kids aren’t still doing this
My heart goes out to these people’s families. Doesn’t matter why loved one dies, if they are dead, it is a tragic time
With a name like _Blackout challenge_ , what did people expect?
😂
It has been going on for years way before the internet. We had it at our school
They all probably expected to be simple as it sounds & easier to do while only focusing on the win, period.
@@lisamac1986 that's true I remember people telling me that many teens who played chicken got into serious or deadly car wrecks and the parents expected better of them when they had wreaked their new car! Or lost their lives completely!
This just shows that having common sense is now a challenge because who thinks any of these are a good idea
Common sense went the way of the dodo, unfortunately.
I honestly wouldn't feel sympathy for such incompetent and stupidity
Seriously the Benadryl challenge? I’m surprised they didn’t try a cocaine challenge.
A girl I went to school with “car surfed” and was drug underneath the car. She has scars from her face down to her legs. She was incredibly lucky to survive. It was one of the most horrific things I’ve ever seen. Please tell your kids that this is no game.
Thank you for posting.
how about don't listen to your friends who pressure you into doing something you don't want to do such as harmful challenges it's just sad for the people passed on😭
And I thought the Tide Pod Challenge would be on this list
“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
- Albert Einstein
Its kind of crazy how we throw caution out the window when we are around people we like or want them to like us.. 😢
Honestly if you try any "challenge" off the internet what do you expect.
What about Not Nut November?
It really brings of the perspective of the saying
“play stupid games when stupid prizes”
People should do this as a challenge it’s called the common sense challenge.
The best way to keep your kids safe is to always talk to them about the dangers. Keep the communication open and make sure your child can come to you with any problem or concern.
Unfortunately, people often forget that in reality, some children out there have emotionally absent parents.
It's difficult to foresee these things coming, it's not usual so!etching that would come up.
@@aaronwolk998 yes that's true....but what I said is still true.
That word needs to be passed on.
Seriously? In the 60s we were warned about running out into the street between parked cars, licking frozen lampposts, taking candy from strangers and that's about it. If a kid is inherently dumb there's no way to protect it from everything on the planet.
Social media is so toxic and dangerous, I challenge people to prove otherwise.
That's a great video to show in every middle school and high school class rooms around the country
The ice bucket challenge shouldn't have been on the list. The teen jumped into a body of water, and the father was intoxicated. Neither of them did the challenge as it was intended.
Planking was also harmless as most people know not to perform a balancing act on a 7th floor balconey, the reason a lot of these challenges are on this list is just because people are doing dangerous variations of harmless challenges.
I was watching that and said, "That's not the ice bucket challenge, that's just a dumb kid jumping in a quarry. Kids have jumped in quarries for years."
To be fair, pretty much no one after the first few uploads ended up doing the challenge “as intended” and it quickly just became something people did to try and get internet famous
Fr, the ice bucket is where youre supposed to pour water on your head, not jump into the water
So true, I remember when it was a big thing, our middle school principle did it in front of the whole school on the lawn cause we helped raise a lot of money for this one charity ☺️😎🤣 such fun times!
How to avoid deaths from these challenges: DON'T DO THESE CHALLENGES! It's really that simple
The undeniable hallmark of the stupid is to blame others for their own stupidity.
I can't feel bad for stupidity.
I still don’t understand why people want to go viral for assistance ng someone, and essentially confirming your guilt before you even enter a courtroom.
This is a grim list all the young people that died. RIP to everyone i their families find peace
9:35 the movie choking game came literally came from this from like the early 2000s
Just because something is Popular doesn't mean you should do it. 🙅🏿♂️🙅🏻♀️
In the famous words of the character Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park: "They were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should."
I don't want to live on this planet anymore
We are talking about a generation of people who can’t read and listen to basic common sense.
Even that nasty tide pod challenge...and the infamous drinking a bleach challenge
*Sigh* why those people are so
Dumb
Ya like this new fad of changing sex for example. Or identifying as something other than human. Unfortunately stupid out numbers the rest of us 😢
Tik tok: Hey, you should drink boiling water as a challenge!
People with no common sense: Whoa, that’s so awesome!!
If you do something stupid knowing it could easily kill you then the fault is all on you, not anyone else. Common sense is sadly uncommon nowadays.
Beating someone to death for content is just... wow.
From what I heard, the kid who died from the One Chip Challenge didn't eat just one chip... he ate 16 of them. This video made it sound like the challenge was the problem when it was in fact social Darwinism. It's terrible that he died but he brought it on himself. I'm sorry.
Really that actually makes a lot more sense I thought he had some underlying condition
Unless he had some type of condition than one hundred percent it's the kid fault I'm sorry for the parents up that kid but it's his fault for not reading real warning label sayings do not eat this is for adults only and he wasn't even an adult he was 15 trying this challenge at school of all places
16 of them? I don't think anyone can physically handle that many without puking it all up. Idiotic either way.
Yeah it was multiple he ate at once, the family wants to make it seem like it wasn’t his fault
@@Xzcvr well that's good to know so that there is no misinformation going wish more people knew about this
Anytime I begin to feel like my life is meaningless, I'll play this.
Oh man I remember when we were in high-school the black out challenge, was shut down very quickly
While I feel for the victims of the Happy Slapping challenge, the vast majority of this list are Darwin Award nominees/winners.
This almost sounds like the "Knock out game."
@@CrimsonNineTail ya don't know if it's true but I remember reading the knock out game wast really a thing until the news got a hold of it and blew it up and people started coping it because of that
It's the only one in which the 'subject' had no active role and no choice. All the others were willing participants.
This makes me wonder that may be the reason why they all manage to be the next champion
The whole viral thing is idiotic, but no one died from it. Slapping someone is completely different to beating them to death. And every single one of these idiots besides them died from stupidity, not from a challenge.
I remember watching an episode of Rescue 911, where a girl went car surfing, she fell under the car, and got her leg stuck up in the engine.
Omg I remember that!! It scared the crap out of me lol
Yes!
I'm really surprised the milk crate challenge isn't on this list. That one is a major killer.

My boss dared me to do the One Chip Challenge and ridiculed me when I refused.
I would've told him to eat elephant shit. 😂
I tried the 2022 one it gave me a stomach ache and an extra trip to the store to buy milk. I think the problem with this year is they made a hotter chip than last year? Or it could be something with the combination of the two peppers because that changes every year.
Wha happun next?...
Oh well. Your stomach thanks you.
Stupidity isn't a modern fad... it's been around as long as humanity.
This is top tier natural selection in action😂👌
In the early 2000s I used to talk to kids about doing stupid stunts and challenges, giving in to peer pressure and how to use common sense... while it did feel good when you could see you got through to somebody, out of a group of 20 that was maybe one kid and the other 19 just looked at me like I was a stupid old man who didn't know what "cool" meant.
Happy Slappy 😂 also known as assault
This needs more views
Education is the number one tool to prevent deaths by stupidity.
Sometimes stupid is what stupid does
The saying "you can't fix stupid" is very true in some cases, imo. I feel bad for the extremely young ones because they didn't know what they were getting into.
The blackout challenge was going on wayyy before the internet was a thing, I remember a foster sister and her friends would hyperventilate and then choke themselves, hoping to pass out
Yep i remember at school one day my friends and i trying it. I was around 9 yrs old so probably 1993. I realised how ridiculous it was after lol. It's different when you're a kid, to adults or young adults that know the risks but still do it for the internet
@@xtina6569dumb kid.
I never cared about trends even as a kid, whether music, clothing, and certainly not dangerous stunts and behavior. Educate your kids as much as possible, even on things you would consider common sense...because others out there may teach them to do otherwise.
👏👏👏
Remember when our parents used to ask us "if your friends jumped off a bridge would you do it to?"
IE: Don't be stupid, think next time.
This generation didn't get enough of that.
Survival of the fittest!
I’m surprised the cinnamon challenge wasn’t listed.
My mother once called the cops on some teenagers driving in two vans and jumping between the vans… happened in Colorado too, just like the car surfing one.
I feel next to no sadness for the people who do a lot these dangerous/really dumb "challenges"
Not even the children ?
its their parents fault @@Spiritualthanos87
@@Spiritualthanos87 I agree with her statement, with the exception of the children. Children are very impressionable, and their brains are not fully developed yet. This is especially with the ability to rationalize and be aware of dangerous behaviors. As for the adults and even the older teenagers to an extent, it's a case of play stupid games, win stupid prizes and I don't feel the least bit sorry for them. I do feel bad for their families and friends that are left to deal the aftermath of their stupidity.
@@Spiritualthanos87 i agree with the op i have no remorse for anyone that does stupid things like this child or not use ur brain

The Happy Slapping challenge was called the knockout game in NYC. The rule was to knock out a person with just one punch. there was nothing happy about that challenge.
They're ( blacks) still doing it ( to whites ).
I like how the parents try to sue tiktok/social media as if they're the ones that are responsible for said parent's children's safety smh
A few months ago a teenage girl died while train surfing a metro (public transportation in DMV area) train..
Here's a challenge, during your waking hours drink a cup of water every hour. See how many days you can do that. Go to school every day that is scheduled. See how many days you can do that. Find out what community service is available in your town and do it once a month. See how many months in a row you can do that.
These are fun challenges and should be blasted on TT.
I'm 30+ and I can barely handle 1 Benedryl. Why some take so many I'd never understand.
I was a child and i would have NEVER done any of these things! And as an adult..Kids should not be allowed on social media!
A moment of silence for Timothy Ferguson who is his mother Shanda Vander ark vander ark killed and the only thing she fed him and starved him to death with the same pepper in that one chip challenge
Social media once again overrides common sense.
It's crazy how I didn't die from the blackout challenge as I tried it multiple times as a teenager in the 90s

This shows just how stupid our younger generations have become and what happens when they are raised without being told No and being spoiled.
most of theses challenges is to

😧
Lol because older generations never did stupid stuff 🙄. Just because the internet wasn't around doesn't mean kids were all innocent and never doing dangerous stuff prior.
They were stupid at birth. Some are around age 40 and never stopped being stupid.
The gasoline bath lighter flick challenge... nuf said 😂
The one thing that wasn't mentioned about the One Chip Challenge is that the teen that died from it died because he ate at least a dozen of them in one sitting and died as a result of it. This video sorta makes it seem like he died after only eating one.
Also...the Blackout Challenge has been around since like the 80s-90s long before viral trends. I remember growing up in the 90s and kids were trying it while waiting for the bus when I was in middle school.
Social media apps should have an algorithm system to remove trending challenges that may cause harm to others who participate in it. With the advance of technology that we have right now that can certainly be done in some way.
I cannot believe that there are people around that are SO STUPID THAT they would Challenge other people
To do stuff that are so DANGEROUS
Honestly these “ challenges” sound like something a serial killer would come up with just to easy kill people without being caught. 🤦♀️
The tide pod challenge was so out of the blue. The knockout game was incredibly repulsive as well.
I really do feel the pain that the loves of the deceased are having. On the other hand I’m just unless they were like eight or before teen age. They had to know it was dangerous, like by freshman year of high school I knew not to do stuff that would kill me
I mean before the internet we had the blackout challenge
Its hard to feel sorry when these people die stupidly
