My mother has congestive heart failure and her doctor told me that the time she approved me for is only for when my mom has a doctor's appointment. My mother can't even clean up her own household. It's hard for me to help like I want to because I have my own family to care of also.

Question. Does my employer, need to forcefully pay me from my available sick and pto hours when I use fmla. I don't want to use that time. I just want to use fmla unpaid when needed.
If it is in their policies then yes they can require you to use your PTO/Sick time while on FMLA.
Can I take the 12 weeks after the paternity leave? Or it’s the same thing

My employer will not qualify me for FMLA to take care of my special needs son because I was on a leave during the pandemic. So, I did not work the hours needed to qualify for a FMLA.
But, can my employer, American Airlines, deny me even though I did them a favor? AA offered leaves in order to reduced employees getting furloughed in 2020. I took the leave. It also gave me the time off to take care of my special needs son. AA cancelled my leave. I now have to go back to work November 2021, so I need to qualify for a FMLA to be able to take care of my son since I am back to work.
Are there any exceptions to the law (of needing to work a certain amount of hours a year order to qualify), because we were/are in a pandemic?
If so, where can I get this documentation?
