In this clip, Tony Lewis Sr. talks about Rayful Edmonds' sentence before explaining to DJ Vlad that his former friend is now being held in an undisclosed prison as a part of the government's witness protection program and that he should be home soon. From there, he explains the "First Step Act" that Donald Trump signed into order back in December of 2018 and why he didn't believe it would led to his release, initially, because of the country's crack and cocaine laws. I work downtown in DC and that day when Ray was here for court in 2019 was crazy! I was walking to a spot to grab breakfast and thought the President's motorcade was moving around but when I got back in the office, they were talking about Rayful had a court appearance that day on the radio.

There are two Laws pertaining to the sentencing of nonviolent drug offenders with the same acronym-FSA. One signed by Obama in 2010( Fair Sentencing Act)
The other signed in 2018 by Trump (First Step Act). Bush signed the Second Chance Act in 2007 as a rehabilitation and treatment bill. Obama reduced mandatory sentencing. Trump took the same acronym and all the credit. Read all three laws for yourself.
