What would you do if you were climbing a ladder and someone at the top pointed at gun at you? Jackie chan flip over the guy? I don't know how knowledgeable about ladders you are but you kinda use your hands and feet to go up them and hard to reach down and grab your gun...
Also police holsters are designed to make the gun harder to get out (to prevent someone running up behind the cop and just taking their gun and shooting them).... While training would make retrieving it one-handed on a ladder "easy" and fluid, it's not like you could do it before getting shot.
What should he have done differently?

So the shooter was noticed to be acting suspiciously when he was near the magnetometers and word got out among security personnel to keep an eye on him. Yet, still, he ends up "walking around" at some point carrying his rifle, climbs up to the rooftop of one of the buildings to position himself for the shot. How in the World was this allowed to happen? He had already been "flagged" as someone to be watched closely before it all happened. Unreal.

Did you watch any of the dozens of videos explaining timeline? They all say it happened in a matter of seconds from when the officer confronted him. Less than a minute.
Outer perimeter police failed and Secret Service failed. The whole thing was a massive security failure that would have been avoided if secret service grabbed Trump the second they heard about someone on the roof.
It's enough for them to shoot the person under any other circumstances. This seemed more like a wellness check.

he used his power ranger skills to borrow the secret service guys ladder. at this point I wouldn't doubt a report like that emerges. really though, I was wondering about how he got up there and how he kept that rifle unseen. maybe he separated the upper and lower receiver and bagged it? unlikely to keep even a broken down rifle unseen. very fishy

Why did the Secret Service allow a rooftop close to where Trump was going to be, unguarded. Why did law-enforcement ignore a concerned, citizen about a man on the roof with a rifle. This entire incident is very, very odd.

That was a horrible analysis. First, the “radar” question was not about being premeditated but how with all the people in the crowd saw him yet SS didn’t minutes before the cop climbed on the roof. Then he said it wasn’t premeditated yet he had explosives all over. Interviewer failed to ask obvious questions like building the shooter was on was the police headquarters with snipers on 2nd floor and not on roof. How did he get a gun and ladder in there? How come so many witnesses saw him yet no police/SS did until it was “too late”. BS

I think the bigger question should be how is it that the guy got on the roof and the Secret Service who were on the opposite roof couldn't see him across the way? How is it that two sets of people both with roof access and they don't see one another?
They said it in this video. He was far away, in the other direction, and on the other side of the sloping roof. You've seen triangular roofs, like A-frame houses, right? If someone is on the other side, you cannot see them.

The other day when this happened the comments that said this was fake and others said good in more ways than one and utube left up most of the comments that supported this.
More obvious questions (not addressed here): 1. How did he know about that site? 2. How did he get access? 3. Did he park at the AGR International facility or walk from some distance? 4. If that responding deputy was told there might be a man with a gun on the roof, why didn't he have his gun drawn when he went up there? 4. The fact that a deputy was even there to check the rooftop, means there was a law enforcement presence at the AGR International facility; how did he get past them? 5. How could the shooter have set up, found his target and pulled the trigger in just a couple seconds?
All of that strongly suggests a lot of preplanning and weapons training. To suggest that he put this all together on that day is absurd. Making the ammo purchase that day could easily be part of his plan to avoid raising the suspicions that might have come if he made such purchases earlier.
1. He knew about the site because Trump advertised his speech to have as many supporters as possible. And he supervised it using Google maps. 2. He got access by showing the rifle and saying: I am a republican, I support Trump and the constitutional right to buy assault guns and bring them with me wherever I want. It seems that these Rambos showcasing their rifles are quite common around Trump, so he got the green light and was admitted to the party.
