    When I worked as a Pro Photographer during the mid 1980's to mid 1990's I used the Bowens Mono Gold, Mono Silver & Mono Gold Lighting system. They were expensive but more than paid for themselves.. I used the Hassleblas 500ELX & 500CM cameras as my main tools of capture.. Very accurate video. It's very well presented

    Excellent introduction to portraiture. I love the 'no rules, except the laws of physics' mantra! And; 'Overexposure is another tool'... Amen to that!

    Excellent Tutorial, Thank you!! I am just a little confused with the lighting ratios, why doesn't a 3 stop difference read 1:6 instead of 1:8? It seems the previous readings are following a 1/2 stop pattern but this one doesn't

    • @rubennieves5479
      @rubennieves5479 Před 9 lety +3

      1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64, 1/128..... see the pattern there? It's the inverse square law. Each stop is another square (inverted, so it's a fraction). I hope this helps a bit as to WHY 3 stops is 1/8, and not 1/6. Because we're working with squaring (exponential), not multiplication.

    You used bookend reflector extensively. Where did you get the foam boards?

    • @caryader369
      @caryader369 Před 7 lety

      Home Depot and Lowes carry sturdy foam boards big enough to go from floor to ceiling. Sturdy, and easy to tape together the long way so you have two that can stand on their own.

    • @mikesong4030
      @mikesong4030 Před 7 lety

      Thank you for responding to my question. I did look up the web sites of both stores but found all 4x8 foam boards have prints and patterns on them. I did not find a white board. I hope they stock white color boards in local stores. If I do not find white ones, may be I can paint them using reflective white paint.
