This is golden. I accidentally stumbled on this video and I am not disappointed. Thank you for sharing.
When I worked as a Pro Photographer during the mid 1980's to mid 1990's I used the Bowens Mono Gold, Mono Silver & Mono Gold Lighting system. They were expensive but more than paid for themselves.. I used the Hassleblas 500ELX & 500CM cameras as my main tools of capture.. Very accurate video. It's very well presented
More than a tutorial this is a complete guide for lightin in photography. This is Imprescindible for begginers!
Congratulations and thank you!
For a beginner like me, i just felt like i learnt years of knowledge about lighting techniques by watching this. Thank you so much.
Excellent introduction to portraiture. I love the 'no rules, except the laws of physics' mantra! And; 'Overexposure is another tool'... Amen to that!

Amazing
I bought this book.
so motivating and inspiring..thanks for sharing your gift with me:)...XoXo
Great!
Excellent Tutorial, Thank you!! I am just a little confused with the lighting ratios, why doesn't a 3 stop difference read 1:6 instead of 1:8? It seems the previous readings are following a 1/2 stop pattern but this one doesn't
1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64, 1/128..... see the pattern there? It's the inverse square law. Each stop is another square (inverted, so it's a fraction). I hope this helps a bit as to WHY 3 stops is 1/8, and not 1/6. Because we're working with squaring (exponential), not multiplication.
good stuff
Agreed 👍🏻🌹
super!!
Christopher Grey # control light effectively
You used bookend reflector extensively. Where did you get the foam boards?
Home Depot and Lowes carry sturdy foam boards big enough to go from floor to ceiling. Sturdy, and easy to tape together the long way so you have two that can stand on their own.
Thank you for responding to my question. I did look up the web sites of both stores but found all 4x8 foam boards have prints and patterns on them. I did not find a white board. I hope they stock white color boards in local stores. If I do not find white ones, may be I can paint them using reflective white paint.
math killed me that ratio part got me
Guys, I've mastered the light
Portrait light
wawwwwwwwww
Irritating voice over. "Because we live on.......Earth and have only.....one sun, We're comfortable with only.....one source of light...
Who thought it might be a good idea to have background music? Stopped this video at 2:31. Thanks anyway.
