- Stunning ebike adventure in Oberstdorf and an epic ride around Lake Constance in Germany.
A short September (2020) ride turns into an Epic 50 mile ride with a boat trip. We leave Oberstdorf after 6 great days there and head to Lake Constance. Our stay is two nights on an Aire about 1km from the shore. Our first choice of Aire at Uberlingen was full - need to get there early for that one!
We had no plans for the ride and the boat trip was totally unplanned but it was a fun experience. With hindsight we would have taken a different route after reaching Konstanz along the shore line of the adjacent lake Untersee.

I think for me, this is one of my best videos, I really enjoyed it. Reading back at peoples comments I love the fact that the boat was spontaneously and the fact you guys just see the boat and got on it. It’s very helpful for us the way you describe services and give tips on how things work.
I keep looking back at the cows loved the way they come up to the bike. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Its great to hear this is one of your favourites we like it too, especially for the boat. The video was made just as we entered the post Christmas lockdown and we really felt like we needed to do something with a bit of energy to lift the mood, hence the music choices. Not sure what shocked us the most - the distinct lack of pins in the intro or the fact that you 2 ate a McDonald’s. Loved the fact that the ferry had bike racks, hope you stopped Strava for the crossing or that would be cheating. Great Vlog to start 2021
Ha Ha, eating MD's for us is pretty rare, they didn't even do a Sausage and Egg McMuffin so it was a little disappointing. Err no, didn't actually switch off the tracking so I guess we did cheat a little on the mileage! Cheers...Andy&Michelle

I enjoyed that. We currently live in Switzerland and before Germany locked down we would be in Konstanz regularly, its tax free shopping if you are Swiss resident. There's a really nice spa in Konstanz too. Did you take a look around the motorhome dealer beside the Stellplatz (ha Aire, its not France you know :-) ). Loved the video. Thank you.
Oh wow, Switzerland is beautiful place to live. We love Switzerland and have been several times. Yes we popped into the motorhome dealer, we've broken one of our branded Carthago wine glasses so we wanted to see if we could buy another. Fantastic, another great ride, have you ever thought of selling downloadable print outs of your rides giving all the detail , like the rides up the valleys , and round robin ride in Lake District, you could mention campsite close to rides and directions , then we could download your rides and put them in folder, then when travelling with motorhome could stay on site and do your rides, keep up the videos watching them during lockdown gives me something to look forward to when we are free to travel again 👍🚵🏼♂️
Hi Kevin, we haven't really considered selling downloadable printouts. I'm still working full-time at the moment and to make something worthy of charging for would take a long time I think. We are happy to share everything we do for free anyway 😀 Virtually all the routes are shared on an App call Wikiloc. The links are in the description. This can be viewed on a computer or followed point to point using a phone while following the course. We are glad the videos are helping you through lockdown! Did you plan the ferry, or was it a last minute decision. Added a nice addition to a bike ride.
Hi Tony, no it wasn't planned, we just saw the Ferry and thought it would make the ride into a nice round trip around the lake, it was a bit further to ride on the other side than it looked though as it was not possible to ride along the lake and we had to head inland, Cheers...Andy&Michelle
Lake Constance is a Paradise for bike riding. Beautiful villages, medieval towns, castles, orchards and vineyards.
I've really enjoyed this Germany trip series, summer seems such a long time ago now!

Forgive the boring question - while cycling your camera seems to pan round while you’re not moving your head - do you control it and if so how?
Hi - your not the first to ask this 😀 not a boring question at all, we use a 360 camera (GoPro Max) which records in every direction, then when back at the computer the camera angle can be selected for the one that I want on the video, technically its called ReFraming, adds quite a bit of time to making the video but we like the effect 😀 cheers...Andy&Michelle
Hi. What are your favourite European and UK bike rides?
Hi Jon, that's a really difficult question, there are so many great rides. The favourite European ride so far is Lauterbrunnen for its incredibly steep climbs and decents (road) with fast sweeping corners and stunning views. In the UK our most memorable ride was around the hills of Castleton in the snow. Also like the cycling in the Lakes in the Keswick Area. and yours????
@@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures Yes it’s tricky. Nothing too amazing. Derbyshire mtb circuits, Lake District near Windermere etc. Europe probably riding a Tour de France route near Arras ahead of the real race getting cheered on! Your German rides do look good ...will have to try those sometime.
