- We waited 3 months to get this exhaust from HKS Japan, but it's finally here, and time to install it. Our Copart rebuilt 2020 Subaru Forester Sport sounds so good with the new exhaust, just wait for what's to come, including a new project.

I have a diesel forester and I just deleted the rear mufflers. It now has a nice little growl, a bit of turbo diesel exhaust whistle and a bit of the old Subaru rumble.
Glad you went HKS. I have HKS Super Turbos on my two subarus too. Awesome exhaust systems.
I wish I could get behind the new subarus but I miss the boxer rumble. Next upgrade, unequal length headers!

I have an HKS on my 97 STI. Now looking to get one on my 2020 Forester Sport too 😊
That factory muffler looks exactly like what came off my '15 Forester XT, the right one at least. A friend gave me his factory mufflers and mid-pipe from his '15 STI, so I swapped them. I cut the rear valance to fit the quad tips, used a cardboard template, a silver sharpie, and a jigsaw with a formica blade that had fine teeth.
Dang, that sounds like some skills to make that work. I bet it sounds nice too. Wish you could share a pic on here. What's your IG so I can see?
@@NoboriAuto I have no social media, sorry. It looks factory, the exhaust bolts right in and cutting the valance was easy since I use to be a carpenter...now I am an aircraft mechanic. I watched some guys cut the plastic with a box knife, but the jigsaw worked perfectly. I used a sanding block to knock off the edges after cutting. It added a nice little rumble and it sounds even better because it was Free....lol

"Mega JDM" is alright. You need "Ultra JDM" to step up your game. Muffler looks nice. A rebuilt copart Forester is brave.

I saw a Forester Sport in our WalMart parking lot the other day....black, with the same orange trim. No red paddle shifters though.

You can add the exhaust, but the Forester is still SLOW. It needs at least 200 hp.

This should fit the 21 sport too right? Looking online I only see some with the 2018/2019. I thought it weird that it included the prior year.
Yes, it will fit the SK Forester which includes the 21.

@@re1ss I am fairly certain it does not increase HP on its own. But it allows the exhaust gases to flow out faster and with less back pressure, so if the old exhaust was a limiting factor, then this new exhaust will help. (With the stock engine, that is not the case, so no change in HP.) So if you added a turbo or somehow increased the engine output over stock, an improved exhaust may add a small amount of additional HP by improving the exhaust flow.

Yeah interesting as I also just got my 2021 sport Forester but all online stores says this only fits 2016-2018. Non of them confirmed if it fits 2021

To each their own. Im not a fan of the nameless. That's what's good about aftermarket parts though, there are name different styles for everyone

The new Outback turbo and WRX share the same engine, so might want to compare the exhaust system on those as well.

If Subaru actually brings the 2.4L turbo to the 2022 Forester, I know what exhaust I'll be slapping on it day 1 (waiting for a turbo model before trading in the ole reliable Outback)
They recently discontinued the WRX motor for this car. They moved it up to the Ascent which is bigger and definitely less cool.

There isn't really one, necessarily -- if you swap in the new exhaust and secure it properly, it should be as sturdy as the OEM one. The main change is going to be how loud your exhaust is, and if you are ok with it!
