My absolute favorite that left me mind blown 🤯 is Whispers & Roars by K. Webster , my tip is go in blind and don’t read reviews, best psychological thriller. Note : This book does have warnings tho
I'm so happy I came across your channel!! 🥰 I really enjoyed this video, the books you recommended sound *amazing*!! They're all on my TBR but I'm especially excited for Sharp Objects and the Lucinda Berry books. Now I'm off to watch part 2 🖤
Ashley Reads Fairytales I used to read a lot more than I do now but my favourites authors are Fiona Barton & Claire Mackintosh - so pretty much British Thrillers. Eager to try some from your list though
I watch a ton of these recommendation videos and this is the first time I’ve seen your content, I am subscribed now! I’ve only read/ heard of a few of these so I can’t wait to jump into a list of new (to me) psychological thrillers 🥳🥳 I like that the books you included aren’t the same ones on everyone else’s lists. Thanks!
So glad I came across your video. Several of these I've never even heard of and I'm so intrigued I was downloading them onto my Kindle as the video went on!
I love your recommendations, all other channels seem to recommend the best sellers at the moment and that puts me off reading them. From the books you’ve mentioned I have only heard of one of them. I’ve just ordered phantom limb and those girls going to give them a read once they arrive.
Recently read The Butterfly Garden and loved it, so creepy! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😍 It’s classed as Horror on Goodreads. I loved seeing the relationships between the girls. I’m reading Gone Girl atm.
I could definitely see it being horror. I kind of classify what I believe to be psych thrillers because it's not an "official" genre. Gone Girl is preeeetty good. If you like it try Boyfriend Glasses by Livia Harper. It's free on nook. It's like Amy Dunn x20 crazy.
I am a new subscriber and I am so happy to have found you because I love all kinds of thrillers but especially psychological thrillers. Keep uploading more as you find them please. Thank you
Really liked "The perfect child". Another one I liked who is also a creepy child situation is "My sister Rosa" by Justine Larbalestier. Same, I loved "The butterfly garden", really really creepy. By the same autor in the same serie I LOVED "The summer Children", such an emotional read... I'm definitely going to read your recommendations. Thank you for your video !
The Phantom Limb book (Haven't read it) seems to be taken from the real life events of two brothers. One got amnesia and forgot all the horrible abuse they experienced growing up. I bet the author was like, woah, that would be good for a story. Real life is a great source for inspiration.
@@thaliaquintero8138 Hmmm, well, I guess one which doesn't have good pay-offs, doesn't have good setups, is predictable and therefore isn't shocking or even surprising.
I don’t know what to think when you say “really creepy” or graphic because I listen to true crime podcasts and they rarely hold on to details so I’m used to pretty graphic scenes, and at first i was like you said freaked out and had anxiety bc of them and had to stop listening for 2 weeks and now I’m like what else is new when people say things are graphic 😐
It's kind of tricky because everyone has their own threshold for this! I personally don't get easily disturbed and have a high tolerance for messed up scenes but I wanted to be sensitive to anyone who might not be.
Currently reading The kind worth killing by Peter Swanson ,few chapters away from finishing it so I’m here looking for what to read next.. I think I found my next read. Thank you .
As a successful independent woman I don't understand why men youtubers seem to read books by women AND men. While women youtubers only read books by women!!!
Why are most psychological thrillers written by women and when they are written by men, why is the protagonist female? The silent patient Alex Michaelides/ The woman in the window A.J Finn/ Before I go to sleep A. J Watson --- stephen king doesn't count.
Honestly that's a super good question that I've been pondering for awhile. I have also noticed when men write them, they often use pseudonyms that are gender neutral. I'm definitely going to keep researching it. I haven't been able to find too many scholarly articles on psychological thrillers at all.
I want to read all of these!! I have read Those Girls by Chevy Stevens and omg it is soooooo good!! Like every chapter I was shocked. For Gillian Flynn I read her dark places and didn’t really like it. Though I have heard multiple times how good sharp objects is.
Dark Places wasnt my favorite either. The ending was kind of unsatisfying. Definitely check out some more books by Chevy Stevens! I enjoy her books a lot
Honestly, I dont think I could handle most of the psychological thrillers you mentioned, but I LOVE hearing you talk about them. I need a filter where I can just put in all the things that put me on the bus to NOPE town so I can find one I'll like!
That is 100% okay! These are not for everyone. If you want you can send me a DM on Twitter and I can try to recommend you one. I’ve read a lot, some not so gruesome :)
