  • I'm back with more Steam Deck ASMR! Today let's get up close and comfy as I play one of the comfiest games I know, Littlewood! It runs amazingly on the Deck and I've been enjoying playing it a lot since I got it. I hope you enjoy!
    Check out Littlewood on Steam - store.steampowered.com/app/89...

    I’m adoring the Steam Deck content. However after hearing it’s allowed you to enjoy gaming again please make sure you always have a way to have games as downtime. My Dad was a video games reviewer for 15 years and he hated video games for a while and took him some time to get back into them. It was hard to see that and would be upset if it happened to you.

      @@MrDyl666 he volunteered technically for his own website Deaf Gamers. My Mom did a deaf studies degree and it was originally created as a project for that. EA were the first company to give PR and started asking for written reviews rather than the checklist they’d created to say if the game was suitable or not for deaf gamers. We received an insane amount of games over the years (I really adored being a gamer haha) but around the end of the PS3/XBOX 360 era and start of the PS4/XBOX One he’d lost interest and PR was changing drastically too. It’s a very different world today than it was back then.

I think there has been a huge quality loss during the switch between ps3 and ps4 (idk about xbox cause i don’t play with it, but i guess you can tell the same).. videogames now are all about high definition than story and multiplayer (exception made for a few case)

    Just one little thing: it doesn't run Steam, it runs Steam OS. It's entirely different because, like you said, it's almost like a portable PC, and it being an OS It means that it also can be run on any computer rig (although you do have to manually put the OS in it's PC mode, and not Steam Mode, which is basically big picture but better and integrated) and, last detail, Steam OS is a fork of Arch Linux, which is a very famous distro (distribution) of Linux, but also doesn't come from any previous distros, but uses the Linux tools to make a whole different flavour of Linux.
    Fun Fact: Steam OS was first designed from Debian, which is one of the original Linux based OS' (also, Ubuntu is a distro directly coming from Debian), but it didn't work because the Debian infrastructure just wasn't compatible with what they wanted to do with Steam OS, stemming into speed problems.

      I have one and my honest opinion is it won't blow you away and most triple A games run like crap on it. Buuut it really shines when it comes to indie games, especially with how many there are on steam.
      It's very nice to be able to play games on the go or in the bed instead of always having to sit in my chair staring at my monitor.
      I would say it's only worth buying if you're into indie games, emulators or in general lightweight games. I mostly play games like rogue likes, card games, top down rpgs, narrative experiences, tower defense. Kinda just stuff that is relaxing or something that's quick to resume and quit whenever.
      Can't say anything bad about the design, it feels great to use in every way. The rumble features, especially on the touch pads make it feel quite good. And you can always make your custom controls in steam per game.
      I used the touch pads as a cursor and played civ even though it's listed as not completely compatible it worked great.

      @@Quzga I can play RDR2, DOOM Eternal, Elden Ring, mf Cyberpunk 2077 etc. on it np, so idk what you mean with AAA games running crap on it. It's at worst a portable PS4 in terms of power (often times it's closer to a Series S, tho at the native 800p res ofc). You might say that those high end games use way too much power, but as long as you know how to balance the settings out, and make good use of the refresh rate setting, you can hit a beautiful sweet spot of perf, visuals and battery life. Hell I'm emulating BOTW, Demon's Souls and Persona 5 on it as we speak. It's incredibly capable.

    • @Quzga
      @Quzga Před rokem +1

      @@HEADSHOTPROLOL Well if you consider 30-40 fps good performance sure. lol.
      Elden ring you can put everything on low and it won't go above 40fps.
      Anything below 60 is unplayable imo

    • @HEADSHOTPROLOL
      @HEADSHOTPROLOL Před rokem +2

      @@Quzga it's a handheld. A handheld for 399 that's even capable of matching current gen hardware at times. Yes, 30fps in AAA high end demanding games that power hungry consoles can barely run is def good perf. I'm used to 144hz on my 3070 PC, but still 30fps is totally fine for me and 40fps is especially all good when you're running gorgeous demanding games ON THE GO.

    • @Quzga
      @Quzga Před rokem

      @@HEADSHOTPROLOL You want a prize or something because you like playing games in low fps? Don't see your point..
      Most pc players would consider 40fps and lower unplayable, it's definitely not considered good performance.
      Try using elden ring at 40fps on low settings as a selling point to any pc player lol, it shines when it comes to indie or mid to low end games. Buying it for triple A titles is idiotic.

    @martialbernier3282 Před 2 lety

    You can't actually do everything she says on the steam deck not yet at least in theory yes but overall it is
    just a copy paste idea from Nintendo. " you can only play Nintendo games from cartarage or store on the switch and your limited to switch games" not true you can play alot of nintendos previous hits as well through Nintendo subscription service. Steam only supports about 2000 games on the steam deck right now with half verified to work and the other half being able to be played. The other thing that makes it feel like a ripped off idea is the pre orders for the dock that's coming. In the end it's preference based. I own a switch and a gaming laptop for when I want to play pc on the go. Do I want a steam deck hell no I have both current Gen console ie ps5 and series x and a decent gaming rig. The ps5 and switch are for exclusives and I mostly play Xbox for my friends. I reserve my rig for rts and other games not on console.

      @YorkieASMR Před 2 lety +2

      1. Nintendo classics are technically still coming from their store.
      2. 4000 games is the current count and that's only what's been tested, theoretically the number is higher by virtue of being untested, or by emulation given that its running Linux.
      3. A rip off for the dock? I mean for one not relevant to the video but regardless I'm not following.
      4. Yes, it is preference, you're correct. Sounds like it doesn't suit you which is perfectly fine but for some reason you're here discussing it in a negative light?
