My 1st review video is here! I unpacked and tested both the Epson ET 2850 and the Canon Pixma G6020; overall both had pros & cons. In the end, I kept the Canon Pixma G6020! Hope this review helps anyone who is looking to purchase either of these two printers.

00:00 - 00:41 Intro
00:41 - 06:04 Epson ET 2850
06:04 - 12:38 Canon Pixma G6020
12:38 - 13:42 Final Remarks
We finally got a Epson printer and about the color, Yes, it has a red tint on it any paper type. I fixed the problem by exploring the 2nd tab on printer properties by clicking the Color Custom. I tune down the Magenta, Contrast, and the Saturation. I tuned up the brightness. I also change from Epson Vivid to Adobe RGB. It took me 6 print test to get what im satisfied with the result.
Do you think this is the problem for most users? Having to tweak the settings themselves? And are you still using it and would you still recommend it for folks purchasing it who have their sticker business? Thanks....
I tried the same setting, but it doesn't work at all. Even I pull Y/C to the max and saturation to max, 4x6 photo printed keep no change with original effect. Totally no idea why can't adjust.
Yeah sure you did.
This is too much work. I'm going with cannon
@@chocolatexx2011 Its made for mostly printing, but the 4800 which is 239 is made more for photos. The resolution is 5700 vs. 4800, it has a Fax, and Auto feed f0r the same price. So, after understanding that my choice is the Epson 4800 or Canon G620, not the G6020, the 620 is much better at photos.
this review was really helpful and interesting. Thank you, Moshilulu for sharing
Hey! Thank you for taking the time to record and review these two printers. It definitely helped me solidify my purchase decision.
Hi Narvee! No problem, I'm happy my video helped in your decision process, good luck with your new purchase!
Thank you so much for reviewing both!! I’ve been at a standstill on which to get aaaa this was very insightful!!
Thank you!!!
I had bought an epson but it happened to be refurbished and I returned it because it was faulty and I didn't like the print quality. I was considering getting cannon instead of a replacement and you just sold me on that option
Thank you❤
Thank you for such a comprehensive review. Most welcome
Thank you so much for this video! Was hesitating between these exact two printers for art prints and stickers. Gonna go for the Canon :)
Awesome review! Wish you could’ve shown a side by side comparison of the same printouts between the two printers, but still great info. Thanks!
Happy you liked it Grashi! Thank you for the feedback I didn't think of it at the moment, but I believe I still have some footage of those and may post them on a future video, thanks so much!
Thanks for taking the time to review both of these printers. There were some of my top picks and has helped narrowing my choices.
Thank you! This is so helpful!
I'm in this exact same situation right now. I have a Epson 2800 and colors are off, and I also get little fine scratches on my vinyl sticker paper :( I'm seriously thinking about getting this Canon printer as well. Did you ever have an issue with the Epson feed rollers leaving marks on your sticker paper? Thank you for this amazing comparison.
I heard you can't use card stock with the Epson ET 2850, do you know if you can use yardstick in the canon pima G6020? By the way great video!
I will be printing stickers but also want to use card stock, what is the heaviest you have put in?
Thank you for the video, very helpful
THANK YOU--- I appreciate the HONEST opinion and review.... many will tell the good, but not hte negative... which is necessary to know the reality of using it. THANKS AGAIN..
Does the canon have an automatic page feeder for more consistent scanning?
How is it working today is it still working well?? do you still recommend the cannon printer??
Amazing review 😻
Thank you Roshi! ☺️
VERY HELPFUL!!! Thankyou
Thanks for the very honest video comparing these two printers. Great job explaining the setup and differences in print quality and color accuracy!
I'm wondering... Are the colors off because the monitor is not color accurate? therefore causing you to make your art with different colors to make it look good on the monitor but in actuality causing the discrepancy?
I have the same issue for Epson ET-2850, photo is more red(or magenta) . And big problem is, "color correction" in printer properties doesn't work at all, so I can't adjust it.
I have return it and wait for Canon pixma g6020 deal.
I like when see two latest cartridge of canon G6020,,, black and colour,,, and now am still used old canon Printer MP258,also with cartridge
any update on the printers after extended use? i wonder the longevity of these things.
Great informative video. Thanks for sharing!…
The only negative that I have been able to find for the Canon is the small screen should be back lit ( come on Canon - it would cost pennies to add an LED to the screen ) . The removable heads can be cleaned with a cleaning kit and replaced as the last option is not economically feasible on the Epson. The "waste felt" can be replaced and the counter reset and compatible ink can be bought very cheaply. The fact that the colors are better "out of the box" , less jamming and possibly faster printing "out of the box" make the Canon more "hassle free". After much research my next printer will be the Canon 6020.
Very helpful thank you!
Unfortunately, on the g6020 model, you can not reset the ink water counter. It’s pretty much a paper weight once you start getting the error code. I believe that models made after the g6020 can be reset, just my luck that I know this due to the fact that I am just learning all of this now about my g6020. 😢
Now on the hunt for a new printer. After feeling betrayed by Canon over this fact, I’m still leaning towards getting another canon PIXMA printer. But doing much more research this time
@@kellyjean4981 is there a code associated with this issue ? Sdid you search CZcams videos for a solution ?
I got the Epson ET-2850 and I'm satisfied with it. For home use, just what I need and produces sharp images. With the eco tank and no ink cartridges, the amount of copies seem endless.
However, like you mentioned about the color, the color looks faded and dull compared to other printers.
You need to load icc color profiles for the printer to print colors alike the source material. You can't easily find these profiles though, so I'd suggest getting them from Keith Cooper (a professional photographer who made color profiles for the Epson, you can email him and request the profiles for your specific Epson ecotank).
You also need to print on inkjet paper, and these come in all types of grams etc. The Epson is an inkjet printer, and that inkjet paper is made for this machine to get the best results.
The black ink is actually not used when printing choosing glossy paper, but when you put glossy in there you can still choose matte paper and it will use the black ink.
Hello thank you for your review I have a question how do you like how it prints on regular paper?
It's good! It comes out sharp, I would say it depends on what regular paper you get, I have a cheap one and a more sturdy fancy one, but both look good.
It’s been 1 year ago hmp do you still have the printer
hi there! is canon pixma g6020 still your main printer for sticker sheet? may i know the update after almost a year usage? i'm planning to buy one for myself. thank you!
Is still works great! The quality of the prints for stickers is beautiful! I still 100% recommend it.
Did you tried with the regular paper if it still print good? Thanks
Good luck, that thing isn't going to last. I speak from experience
A number of people have told me the Canon Printer is designed to fail after so many cycles. Several said it did not last any longer than the ink refill bottles that came with it. Apparently, instead of replacing cartridges, you now have to replace the entire printer. It's unfortunate because I currently use a Canon printer who's print head is failing (it won't align anymore). Sad, because I had very little problems with it otherwise and It's print quality was excellent. So knowing that the Canon printer has a short life I have decided to purchase an Epson ET-3850. It's similar to the one reviewed here except it has a paper tray underneath with a 250 sheet capacity. I hope I can resolve any color issues with it, otherwise it will get returned. Anyway, thanks for the great comparison review.
So some printer models have a non-replaceable ink sponge. Don't buy those. Independent of that, make sure to properly power down the printer, print at least weekly and avoid the borderless print modes. That should reduce the amount of cleaning cycles and waste ink production, helping the lifetime.
Concerning the colors: it seems some of those devices are badly calibrated, so if you can borrow a colorimeter or submit one for measuring, that is the most precise way. It could also be that the light settings for the printer don't match your environment. LED light for example often has quite a different spectrum compared to a classic light bulb.
Thank you so much for this video! I was especially looking for someone who'd print their art with the Canon one! That makes my decision so much easier!
Thank you 👍
Great video
Canon 6020 or epaon et 2800 im confused?
This was the most candid review of anything I've ever watched, which made the information extremely helpful. You should be a professional reviewer. THANK YOU.
So... what about the printer now?
why the hell do they make you use your phone for stuff its fine if u want to but im sick of having to use apps and phone and stuff i just want plug it in and click on my computer and read the intructions
Do not sign up for the instant ink on hp, unless you are in business etc. Because they have a chip in their cartridges and if you don't pay or send back the cartridges, they will lockup your printer.
This is crazy.
After 8 months are you still using the Canon?
I got the Canon g6020...after my mx922 had a code 1403 code..tried fixing that but no good.
I had leftover ink in all the bottles...the bottles are hard as a rock...so you can't squeeze any leftover ink...😱😱😱
Does anyone have problems printing with Canon G6020 on matte vinyl sticker paper?
Mine turned out super faded for some reason. It's faded on plain paper, too.
So I got rid of Canon and bought HP Smart Tank. The print colors are amazing. HP never disappoints me in terms of the print quality.
Did you go into the Properties first and tell the printer which type of paper your using ? I'm not sure if there even is a setting for vinyl sticker paper.
@@nrich5127 I did. It doesn't work so I got a HP smart tank instead. It works like a charm from the very first print. The colors are so great. I love it.
Thank you. I was planning to buy Epson but now I will buy Canon. :)
Thanks. This is a great video. Nicely paced and very helpful! I'm leaning towards the Epson but I'm worried about the magenta tint. So I just did a bit of research and found this video where the host talked about "double colour management". Apparently, the printer driver will automatically adjust the colour when your software has already done so and so you need to figure out how to disable that feature in the driver. I'm wondering if that was one of the things you tried? He talks about it at 3:10 in this video - czcams.com/video/F82RE2yfqWY/video.html
Thank you so much for this review. It's a big help for me choosing between Epson and Canon. I was considering both brand. I'm planning to start my business, and I'm more of an art person so I'm very meticulous when it comes to the accuracy of the colors. Great review.
Hi 😊 did you get the Canon?
Thank you for this review. I was so close in purchasing an epson ecotank printer. Now I know not to. 😊
gracias, nesecitaba una segunda opinion sobre la canon, aunque la musica me puso melancolico
Denada Bajo la Lupa! Y haha lo siento yo y la musica melancolica somos una persona hahaha
I'm not sure if it's just a bad single device. Yes, the epson is a handsome device. I just got mine yesterday morning the 2820. But I kept getting cart wheels/pizza wheels and scratches on my prints. After spending hours on settings and printing, wasting so much of my photo paper. I'm returning it and going to check the canon mega tank out soon, I hope. It's the reason I'm watching this now xD
I got the canon G6040, same as G6020, but for middle east model, I think.
Does the Canon print to the edges of the paper?
The Canon G6020 does have edge-to-edge printing but at the moment have not tried this yet.
Careful with edge-less printing as it will fill up the waste ink storage.
I have the Epson (Japanese version), but I'm sending it back because it has the paper jam problem (and I've had trouble with alignment). And it doesn't matter even if it's just regular paper. It just pulls several sheets at once or says there's a jam when it's barely started. Finally, it didn't even occur to me that a printer these days wouldn't have automatic double-sided printing, and mine doesn't, so that's a big no-no. I specifically need a printer for art, so it needs to be as good as possible for what I can afford right now.
Interesting! So which one did you take to replace it?
My last 3 printers were Canon that printed, scanned, faxed, etc. I got tired of them quitting after 2-3 years & spending a lot of money.
I bought an Epson et4850. It works great & and hopefully, will last longer that Canon. Fingers crossed.
Any update?
Why does your print comes out faster than mine?
Different print resolution?
1:47, trust me I've gotten the et-2850 and it's build quality is much better than the horrible products (hp) officejet pro 8035e that I had.
I only see 4 colors in this video. Isn't it a 6-ink printer?
I think that's G620? This is G6020
so after 1 year of use are you still as happy with the canon as you were here in this video, or you discovered some new pros-cons ??
I still love it! The colors are still great, and it still works fast.
@@Moshilulu have you run into issues with the waste ink sponge getting full and giving you the 5B00 error code?
Canon is not flimsy. While closing the top cover just push a little on the white holding arm and the cover will close easily.
Thank you for the advice Sushi.
Have a good day idol.i am your new subscriber! God Bless !
Epson is not a photo printer so don't expect good results on photo paper. You should print on matte photo paper for better results
Canon has replaceable print heads because they use a thermal print head which is not as robust as a Epsons patented micro Piezo print head technology. So they’re replaceable for reason.
They have a shorter lifespan and more prone to clogging compared to epson.
All the videos I watched points to Cannon
My Canon G6020 stopped working after 2 years. Ink will not flow. None of the cleaning or flushing functions fixed it. It’s now useless to me.
Isnt that the print head replaceable?
After 5 years my quit I used almost everyday same one in the video
@@TinaMarie-km2ed After 5 years I would consider that normal.
HI, l like your reviews. I don't have/use a smart phone - I have a flip phone. So without a cell phone to use like you did
could the Epson be set up with a desk top PC? Another thing I have come across on various reviews is the clogging issues
from lack of frequent use. Another factor I didn't consider is print head replacements. How often and the costs.
Seems like everything has a catch to it. I still use a ink cartridge printer/scanner and they have a print head in each cartridge
that is replaced but that becomes a vampire to my budget. It looks like your Cannon printer does not have a duplex printing.
The Cannon G4210 does. Also here is a link to ink sponges that these tank printers uses. Very informative,

Stop the music!
I also have a the same Canon printer, the only issue I have, is if it set's longer then a week without doing some type of printing on it, The head dries up, Also if you want to replace the print heads, they are very expensive..
Thank you for sharing.. I was tempted to get the Epson, friends told me the colors are never right in the printing, mostly they have way to much red or all the colors look very faded.. This video
made sure I do not buy one..
Also If you have any issues with any printer This guy shows you step by step how to solve almost any issue...
www.youtube.com/@BestPrinters
Don't replace the "heads" - get a cleaning kit ( $16 ) and clean them several times and the clogged micro nozzles will clear. To prevent clogging , print a full color page once a week.
I grew up with a canon advertisement tagged "with canon you can" which I translated in my head as "with canon, you might". Leading to me not buying anything canon ever.
Canon, HP, Brother - all horror stories, avoid these companies at all costs.
Epson.. maybe, investigating.
Did you, or did you not, use the same paper for epson and canon for the heads picture?
Ink printers are such a hassel. If you don't print daily you will soon get into all kinds of trouble. Laser is the only real choice.
Not if you want to print high quality photographs:)
Not for prints or stickers it's not.
Have had so much better luck running Canon Printers.
Not me, this cannon printer stopped working after just 7 months for me, plus if I went any more than 6 days without printing it would get clogged
