misleading message, poverty in itself is not evil because sometimes the almighty will make you go through it himself. Was not elijah poor as a prophet and living in a cave? was not john the baptist poor and living in the wilderness? did he have mansions at that time. we have to be careful abt saying poverty is sin, yet the almighty at the same time commands his people to shun earthly possessions. fidza You are right poverty is not a sin, however, he never said it was. God does not use poverty on us coz that would be contrary to his word. The gospel in no way shape or form advocated for poverty though. Given the choice most ppl would be self reliant money wise. It's your choice though to believe the side you want to be on.
poverty is simply lack of money, and even though the most high doesnt like doing it but he sometimes uses it to humble his servants, just like how he would send them to captivity (the same people he loved he would make them become slaves to other nations). We have countless examples of servants both rich and poor who served the most high, job was both rich and poor but was still acceptable to him, elijah was poor, isaiah was poor, john the baptist was poor according to today's standards but was highly recommended by the messiah. so we see the doctrine of poverty being a sin is plainly wrong and misleading, this is why paul encourages us to be content with what we have. the problem that i see most people having especially in today's prophetic churches is that they are now seeking the promises more than the promiser himself, up to a point where if they dnt get rich they move on to another church, on the other side u get prophets who start of poor and by taking people's tithes they start bragging that im rich, i got businesses etc when 5 years ago they were dead broke...

misleading message, poverty in itself is not evil because sometimes the almighty will make you go through it himself. Was not elijah poor as a prophet and living in a cave? was not john the baptist poor and living in the wilderness? did he have mansions at that time. we have to be careful abt saying poverty is sin, yet the almighty at the same time commands his people to shun earthly possessions. For those that dont love truth u will bash this point but remember none of the apostles were rich as is being implied here. u can be poor or rich and still serve the almighty, dnt shun the poor and suggest like they cant serve him. If the messiah was here today he would be going to the neglected, the poor, the blind and not sandton...
fidza You are right poverty is not a sin, however, he never said it was. God does not use poverty on us coz that would be contrary to his word. The gospel in no way shape or form advocated for poverty though. Given the choice most ppl would be self reliant money wise. It's your choice though to believe the side you want to be on.
poverty is simply lack of money, and even though the most high doesnt like doing it but he sometimes uses it to humble his servants, just like how he would send them to captivity (the same people he loved he would make them become slaves to other nations). We have countless examples of servants both rich and poor who served the most high, job was both rich and poor but was still acceptable to him, elijah was poor, isaiah was poor, john the baptist was poor according to today's standards but was highly recommended by the messiah. so we see the doctrine of poverty being a sin is plainly wrong and misleading, this is why paul encourages us to be content with what we have. the problem that i see most people having especially in today's prophetic churches is that they are now seeking the promises more than the promiser himself, up to a point where if they dnt get rich they move on to another church, on the other side u get prophets who start of poor and by taking people's tithes they start bragging that im rich, i got businesses etc when 5 years ago they were dead broke...
