Maybe it's odd but even when this guy comes out with some ridiculous comments (and there have been many) I can still never dislike him. He's just a kindred spirit type of person to me and always comes across awkward but interesting. Long live Moz!
The way I see it, he gets asked trick questions. The media edits it, reframes what he said, then tells others what they should think of him. And of course repeat it over and over again. What I think of him is that even personal songs are misinterpreted, let alone some of his opinions on world topics. I won't be forced my opinion of him by the media. If they let me hear/read ALL he said about a specific question, then I'd decide for myself. But the media is trying to eliminate that just to create catchy headlines...
@@martinspeer262 Finger on what pulse?? Who is losing their identity? You're not gonna bang on about "foreigners ... COMIN' OVER HERE etc." are you? He has llived most of his later years in America, so he's hardly affected by anything happening in the UK. If you read what I put, I still like the guy, but he has said some pretty dumb things.
Jools Holland Later in 92'? Mr Steven Patrick Morrissey from Kings Rd , Stretford , Manchester has the best South Manchester accent ever!! He fucking hated Bowie at the end of that tour.
Thanks for this correction, something was bugging me about the '92 tag alright. I've been a fan for quite some time, and I just knew the year was wrong, just from looking at him! Thanks for giving me the answer to what would have been my next question, "What year WAS it?" Respect from Davey in Éire (Ireland)
The audience is largely young and all look a little excited/nervous to be there. Not like today’s audience which seems to be populated with dull, middleclass bores that seem to think they are lining a funeral procession
am i the only one who fully understands the sarcasm in this interview ? lol moz would have made a great comedienne its almost as funny as the hitler outburst lol
Something weird happened when I watched this. Every time the camera would pan out and I'd see the crowd lined up, I'd hear 'E's are good! E's are good!
I wouldn't say he became more outspoken, more that some sections of society had taken such a hard left turn that they were now rewarding the kind of idiot that made a big deal about anything he said that wasn't in lockstep with the regime
As for his hair..he has what's known as a 'Widows Peak' like Count Dracula..neither of them are bald..the difference is Morrissey can wear a Crucifix and eat Garlic!
You shouldn’t be scared or made to feel ashamed you like a fabulous singer because of what he says ,political view or any other reason we are fans of his music, his voice & he’s brilliant I don’t care who he winds up unlike his old band mate Jonny Marr! He’s to scared to say anything alternative!!
This is from 1995 not 1992. Hence Jools mentioning The Boy Racer and Southpaw Grammar, both from that year. In '92 he wore the gold lame shirt and sang tunes from that year's Your Arsenal. Good post otherwise
Do you have the second part of the interview? Later on in the show he was interviewed again briefly, and they watch a clip of the NY Dolls. Jools: "Do you ever dress up like that?" Moz: "No, why would I?"
Morrisey is still to this day a man who intrigues me immensely. I just can't get enough of him.
me too. he is a half breed. half handsome/half gorgeous !!
Maybe it's odd but even when this guy comes out with some ridiculous comments (and there have been many) I can still never dislike him. He's just a kindred spirit type of person to me and always comes across awkward but interesting. Long live Moz!
same, that's exactly how I feel about him

hes a normal honest human very hard to find these days
His comments are not ridiculous. He's got his finger on the pulse, in particular with regards to National identity which we are losing more and more

"He gave it to me when he died, yes"
Love how he just slips the end off that sentence
Baker died in 1976. So, he gave it to a 17 year old Morrissey???? Really?
davidsomerset Moz was joking. He jokes alot. All the time. Constantly. Sometimes he's not joking. This one was.
davidsomerset
You obviously don’t know his humour.
Cool hearing morrisey talk about bowie with such admiration.
that's what I thought too
(*Morrissey)
@StooB Yes it did, they had a major fall out about who should go on stage first when they toured together!
@StooB Yeah..when ego's collide!
@@kenpudsey6435 Really? Bowie sold 10 times as many records as Morrissey. There's no doubt about who the show closer should have been.
@@BAztid I never disputed that did i?..Bowie was selling out stadiums in America when Morrissey was still at junior school.
Whatever happens, I love Moz.
0:57 he's so cute when he's nervous!
Agree. His voice hits you in the gut and can break your heart.
As male singers go he's up there with Sinatra and Van Morrison for me .
Morrissey is such an icon .
You're three years out, my friend. This was originally broadcast on 12 November, 1995 Anno Domini.
Oooh, I had chills when he looked into the camera!
Moz had a phase where he was quite fascinated with thuggish types (boxers, skinheads, footballers, etc.).
There’ll never be another like him. Totally mesmerising, I could listen to him all day long.
My belly goes all funny when Morrissey looks straight into the camera. Does anyone elses? Or is it just me?
This is the only time I've ever seen Jools Holland looking angry because he knows he is being made a fool of.
This was the best day of my life
Heart melting...
Que hombre mas guapo, interesante, talentoso mi amor eterno.
Never seen Moz' hair looking this tame
I think he's smart and funny.
Jools Holland Later in 92'? Mr Steven Patrick Morrissey from Kings Rd , Stretford , Manchester has the best South Manchester accent ever!! He fucking hated Bowie at the end of that tour.
Jesus... Even though his glance and his voice you can see how clever he is!...
this is 95 not 92

Frivolous Foxes hmm I thought he looked a bit old for it to be 92

This interview you've shown has been clipped,in the full interview he talks more about the 'New York Dolls' and we get to see some footage of them!
Granted you'd surely have to be exceedingly stoned but you might be tricked into believing this was Jackson Browne interviewing Roger Federer.
Can't picture Moz at a boxing match
Stanley Bakers suit? That is flat out cool as fuck.
Morrissey was 17 when Baker died. Why would he give a kid his suit?
Jools said he's got Stanley Bakers jacket and he should dress like 'The New York Dolls'..since when has he been a fashion guru?
I have just found out Morrissey lives just down the road from me in Hollywood.
It's definitely from 1995, to promote Southpaw Grammar- I watched it at the time and also taped it, so it's ingrained on my memory!
Morrissey has a really relaxing speaking voice.
*Kool*
*4*
*Katz*
This show is still going....wow its been going since 1992....they must have had some amazing old bands on
The audience is largely young and all look a little excited/nervous to be there. Not like today’s audience which seems to be populated with dull, middleclass bores that seem to think they are lining a funeral procession
He looks like Jimmy Carr.
I happened to pause it at 0:59 and the girl in the background looks like she's possessed by Morrissey
Yes, it's interesting. He likes boxing and footbal hooliganism. ''I like violence, but from distance.'', haha.
am i the only one who fully understands the sarcasm in this interview ? lol moz would have made a great comedienne its almost as funny as the hitler outburst lol
Don't be arrogant and assuming like you are more superior to the rest of us!
Something weird happened when I watched this. Every time the camera would pan out and I'd see the crowd lined up, I'd hear 'E's are good! E's are good!
The girl behind looks so smitten.
Morrissey was 33 here.
36 he was here this interview is from 1995 not 1992
Minor quibble: this can't be from 1992, "Southpaw Grammar" which is being referenced here was only released in 1995.
I never had Morrisey down as a boxing fan !?!?!
that surprized me too
Morrissey is like Jesus with more emotional depth
Ha ha..I like that😂
So don´t let the blue eyes the blue eyes fool you... I dont care,do fool me :)
He still seems pretty shy here, but after releasing You Are the Quarry he became WAY more outspoken.
I wouldn't say he became more outspoken, more that some sections of society had taken such a hard left turn that they were now rewarding the kind of idiot that made a big deal about anything he said that wasn't in lockstep with the regime
Morrissey at his solo peak ,,he fell out with Bowie after the tour ,,,egos i think
0:49
Actually loled everywhere
They cut a clip out from 'The New York Dolls' here and this wasn't '92 it was '95.
someones wearing pyjamas
This is 95 nor 92 cos" South paw grammar" didn't come out till 95 and also the boxers tour was the same year and not long after he supported Bowie
In what regard is he balding? His head is still full of hair..
nope, not anymore
As for his hair..he has what's known as a 'Widows Peak' like Count Dracula..neither of them are bald..the difference is Morrissey can wear a Crucifix and eat Garlic!
He REALLY looks like Jimmy Carr in this vid - UNCANNY
clearly his hair dryer was broken

NOTHING like him, okay the hair.
@ThreeCrowns I was thinking Daniel Day-Lewis...you know the eyebrows and all...
Depends on where you're from. In the UK, it is 'a lot' but in America, it is 'alot'. I'm not sure about Australia.
Goddam, they were all so young and floppy-haired, like I was then...
good
You're right, this is from 1995
his name is mozzer....or maybe mozzerati
this is from at least 1997, the year southpaw grammar came out.
'Southpaw Grammer' came out in 1995!
same my idol
Morrissey is a bit like a fish, beautiful in the water (i.e. singing), but terribly shy and bordering on inarticulate out of water.
He's the good looking version of Quentin Tarantino
watch Jools interviewing the Police in 1980, fucking funny and painful
This is from 1995 not 1992. Hence Jools mentioning The Boy Racer and Southpaw Grammar, both from that year. In '92 he wore the gold lame shirt and sang tunes from that year's Your Arsenal. Good post otherwise
1995 i think :D Maladjusted in 1997
She wouldn't need to say that twice!
It's 1995 this video - about October I think.
Oh, He seems rather uncomfortable. :) Poor Moz.
Do you have the second part of the interview? Later on in the show he was interviewed again briefly, and they watch a clip of the NY Dolls.
Jools: "Do you ever dress up like that?"
Moz: "No, why would I?"
Yes,I'm sure you do! ;)
and the song with the piano? why NOT!!!!!????
Morrissey got the hairline of an 80 year old jewish grandfather
Yeah, this must be the same show as when he sang Sunny?
Whatever year it was, it looks like it was recorded in the 2000's :0
1995
he looks like jimmy carr
@Howieeeeex HAHAHA THEY TOTALLY ARE. i watched it again just to laugh at their expressions XD
This is not 1992.....This is 95/96

@siQshit jimmy carr looks like morrissey...to be fair.
let's get the chronology correct.
This was '95, not '92.
whose the light skin with the checkered shirt?
This is not from 1992.

@joeklose1994 Cornelius Carr
@msangh2003 What??
Just find Jools a condescending guy. WTF was Squeeze?
Who did he say changed British pop?
Bowie, pronounced "bough-ee" by the fool Holland.
Matt White bowie .... ahh it was so hard for me to pick up ...
