  • Today we are temporarily changing Trail Force One's name to "Trail Force Oneski". The reason being, is that I added a snowmobile ski to the front, and in this video, I will show you how I did it!
    Be sure to check out the other Trail Force One videos in the bingeworthy playlist that I will include the link to below. Thanks for watching!

    I added a chain to the rear tire of my Coleman this winter it was awesome. I was able to haul two ice fishing sleds on the lake in about 6-8 inches of snow and ice. I made the rear chain the same way you made the chain to connect your ski minus the ski. Next winter you should do a video on building a chain for the rear tire.

    • @themostlymikeshow2582
      @themostlymikeshow2582  Před 2 lety

      That's pretty cool Fight City! I was thinking about building a tire chain like you said. Did you use about the same size of chain as I did with the ski? I was concerned that it might hit the drive chain unless I used either thin chain or cables. Thanks for watching and the suggestion.

    • @fightcitygymtalk
      @fightcitygymtalk Před 2 lety +1

      Yes my chain was about the same size as the one you used to hold on your ski. I think it's about the same size hard to tell on video. It didn't make contact with the drive chain it just rubbed the frame on the other side. I made some adjustments to the chain to pull it high up on the tire so it didn't hang down so far on the side of the tire. One other thing I did was add a washer to the axle on each side. That spread the frame out just a bit so the chain could clear and not hit the frame. It wasn't that hard, you seem to be a very handy guy you'll figure it out. I just ordered a torque converter. I'll be watching your video to get me through the process. Keep up the good work.

    I swapped out the stock sprocket for a 72 tooth sprocket today on my Coleman CT200U EX mini bike. My friend installed a 72 tooth sprocket on his Falcon (Baja Warrior). We did some serious hill climbing through the woods, no problem with the stock jackshaft. My friend took his through a creek several times, fairly deep. It did not cause any issues with the centrifugal clutch, unlike what I have heard with regard to the belts slipping on the CVT's (torque converters). I am convinced that this is the most economical and reliable way to turn a mini bike into a water resistant, trail riding, hill climbing beast.

    • @themostlymikeshow2582
      @themostlymikeshow2582  Před 2 lety +1

      That's awesome M Hall! I was hesitant on getting the 72 tooth, and just got the 60 tooth. I did however, just order the 9 tooth for the front. I may need to bore it, but not sure from what I have read in the Amazon reviews... Gopowersports.com only has the 10 tooth and has it down as a 17mm bore, and the one from Amazon is 5/8"... I might need to look into what needs to be done to make it work. Great to hear about your upgrade success! These bikes are fun!

    Having just seen this you've figured it out by now but the bush planes and c47s early on used bungee cords from nose of ski to high point keeping the nose up about3-4" higher than normal ..

    • @themostlymikeshow2582
      @themostlymikeshow2582  Před 7 měsíci

      I didn't know that, but through follow-up experimentations, I got it to work pretty good. When we get some snow I will film some more. I did do one little follow-up short video on the last snow that we had last winter. Not sure if you seen that one or not

      Thanks for watching David. I do want to make a snow chain or cable of some sort. It would likely have to be a thin cable because there's only about a half inch of space between the tire and the chain.

      Yeah Kyle, it's not common in late March or early April, but we do get some late accumulations sometimes. I kept putting that video off, and now wishing that I would have done this a month ago. I would probably already have a part two out with improvements to the ski. The list of upcoming videos keeps growing.

      Seems to worked out well. I've only had the opportunity to use my bike in the snow twice and it was quite disappointing, the little wheels couldn't get up to speed breaking through the snow. If we had more snow in west tn. About once a year is what we get. Man I'd love to do this mod.
