  • This is the fastest way to get RID of foam in a Hot Tub / Spa it only takes about 5 mins or Less...First you will need to remove the filter for best results..Spa Guard Anti-Foam / Foaming is easy to find at any pool store although I have tried other products Ive found that this product works the best and it shouldn't cost more then $15.00 with tax and remember just a little bit at a time it doesn't take that much to get the job done ..It will remove the foam from the water of your Hot Tub in 5 min or less..

    Thanks, very helpful. FYI, if you own a front load washer although they have better wash performance they do not rinse as well as toplaoders and are known to leave some minimal detergent in the load. Most people overdose their laundry detergent which only adds to the issue. I have many years experience working directly for a major appliance company and have first hand knowledge of this issue. My recommendation would be to wash hottub apparel separately with no soap. Or use a minimal amount of soap and add an extra rinse cycle. Also remember cheaper laundry detergents tend to leave residual surfactants behind that can also add to the problem.

    That’s not the right way to do it.
    That water looks cloudy!!
    You only need to add 2 little cups of defoamer and let it run for 30min then Calm down the movement on the water. Defomer will reduce your chlorine level and excessive applying of defomer will turn the water cloudy too.
    To prevent that to happen is to add some clarifier and a little bit of enzymes to help disolve the molecules faster and catch it with the filter...
    And of course SHOWERING before going in will get rid off any body lotion, deodorant,etc that will cause the formation of foam...

    You should probably put the cover back on the electrical panel being so close to a water supply, lol.

    Now, is there a downside to adding the de-foamer? As in does it nullify any of the chemicals that’s already in the tub and do you have to do anything to counter it?

    • @spaman5440
      @spaman5440  Před 5 měsíci

      Yes there are a couple downsides..Bottom line is yes Spa Guard Anti-Foam does what they claim it will do but it dose come with a couple draw backs. It does mess with the chemicals a little and sometime turns out to be a high school chemistry lesson that most home owners are not ready for.
      In the end if you are not using the hot tub for a bath tub and are making sure your bathing suit is completely rinsed out... the water in the hot tub water is changed every 90 -100 days..clean the filter bi-weekly and keep the chemical at the proper levels you shouldn't have any problems.
      Now if you don't do the things listed above I can promise you one thing.. You will not enjoy the hot tub as much as you wanted to and you are going to keep a Spa Man like me very busy

      When that happens in our shop.. We empty the tub clean it with White Vinegar and as hot of water as you can handle. Some times you might have to clean it twice. Also put a new filter in the tub.check chemicals and make sure they are correct..If FOAM still comes back ? It get down to what is on your body in your hair or your suit.. Hope this helps. And Thanks for watching my Videos.

      Yep.. Crazy the prices that people are paying for a new hot tub these days. I was at Costco the other day and a small 3 person tub started at 10K and a 6 person was 16K and that was plus tax delivery and set up not including a sub to put it on and all the electrical. while I was there eating my $1.50 hot dog and soda the sales person took orders on four hot tubs Crazy. I think your chemicals might be way off..I would recommend emptying the tub and clean it with white vinegar and really hot water then refill with clean water... I would also make sure the filter is really really clean or replace it with a new one if it is over a year old.. also look at the under side of the cover..if the underside is white you are putting in to much chemical..and a sure sign of this is the under side of the cover will turn white and the cover will start to take on a lot of weight from the chemical drying on the cover when you open it to use it..If this is the case you might want to also replace the cover with a new one.... Hope this helps and Thanks For Watching
