Why Arabic Women & Men Smell Good - Is It Special Perfume Oudh عطور عربية | Bakhoor Oud - Heaven Scent Agarwood. Free giveaway gift by Outstyle this week will be Becca Opal highlighter.
Arabian Oud is a fragrant oil derived from resin and worn traditionally by both Arabic/Middle Eastern men and women. It has a distinctive, mesmerising scent that visitors to Dubai will soon learn to recognise and associate with the Emirates/Middle East. Oud is one of the most expensive natural resources in the world, fetching 1.5 times the price of gold, and is a great souvenir to take home from your visit to Dubai.
Also known as oodh, oudh or by its Arabic name, عود, the oil is derived from the resinous heartwood (often known as agarwood), produced by trees belonging to the species of the Aquilaria genus of Thymelaeceae family.
Agarwood, also known as oud, oodh, oudh or agar, is a dark resinous heartwood that forms in Aquilaria and Gyrinops trees (large evergreens native to southeast Asia) when they become infected with a type of mould. Prior to infection, the heartwood is relatively light and pale coloured; however, as the infection progresses, the tree produces a dark aromatic resin in response to the attack, which results in a very dense, dark, resin embedded heartwood. The resin embedded wood is commonly called gaharu, jinko, aloeswood, agarwood, or oud (not to be confused with 'Bakhoor') and is valued in many cultures for its distinctive fragrance, and thus is used for incense and perfumes.
One of the main reasons for the relative rarity and high cost of agarwood is the depletion of the wild resource. Since 1995 Aquilaria malaccensis, the primary source, has been listed in Appendix II (potentially threatened species) by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. In 2004 all Aquilaria species were listed in Appendix II; however, a number of countries have outstanding reservations regarding that listing.
Oud (in Arabian 'oudh') is highly valued by perfumers for its sweet, woody, aromatic and complex scent. It is used in forms of oud oil (dehn al oud) or raisin (oud mubakhar). The oil of oud, whether extracted by distillation from wood, or by melting the raisin, is non-irritating and can be applied directly on the skin, or added in a perfume composition, most often as a base note.

Due to its rarity, high demand, and the difficulty of harvesting it, oud oil is perhaps the most expensive oil in the world. Its value is estimated as 1.5 times of the value of gold, and it is sometimes referred to as 'liquid gold'.
Long prized as a perfume ingredient in the Middle East and Europe, oud has recently made great gains in popularity in the West. Oud plays a starring role in several North American perfumes for women, including Pure Oud Eau by Killian, Oud Intense by Comptoir Sud Pacifique, Midnight Oud Eau de Parfum by Juliette Has a Gun, and Bond No. 9 New York Oud. It is also used in Sensuous by Estee Lauder, Twilight Woods by Bath & Body Works, Amouage Epic Woman by Amouage, and Daphne by Comme de Garcons.

actually we do he following: first take a shower , while your body is still moist from the shower , spray some light perfume then burn one oudh stick and let the scent surround you, so the scent will stick to that perfume, then wear your clothes and spray another layer of the perfume and burn another stick and surround yourself with scented smoke , remove the stick before it burns totally not to catch the smell of burned wood

Being the girly girl that I am, I'm always looking for a fragrance that doesnt smell like flowers! It attracts every bug and bee in my zip code!
And then I discovered Arab perfume, from Swiss Arabian, and I haven't been the same since. I'm amazed at the "sillage" and the long lasting fragrance.
I think, because alcohol isnt used, ever, (haram!), these fragrances dont seem to get rancid like the alcohol based spray.
    Love your show!

Just to add, we also use a special wooden hanger/stool kind that allows us to hang the long garments such as abayas and men’s kandoora upright , its like a pyramid narrow at the top and wide and hallow at the bottom then we put the burner underneath it and the garment is hanged on top so the oud or bakhoor goes everywhere and clings to your garment. Also for maximum result we open the abaya and bring the burner close to our body then loosely wrap our abayas around the burner to trap as much of the mist as possible. Hope this helps.

In ayurveda ,it is done as a part of treatment in such disorders in which there is bedsmelling secretions and also as a disinfectant
Along with this oudh or agar wood
Guggulu (comiphora mukul) and loban are also used

Basically its an old tradition in Hinduism called "Dhoop" but in now days mostly people doesn't follow that, but we use dhoop in pooja to make our house pure , and free from negative energies. And arab was also in india , in Mahabharat the Maaharani Gaandhari wife of dhidhrasht belongs to afgaan she was the rajkumari of afgaan . Well Love from India .

Wow! The kitchen garment that covers even your hair! I want one! You ought to design, manufacture and sell these. They'd sell all over the world, everywhere that cooks with strong spices and other pungent ingredients. I don't like people being smeared as racist just for saying that people whose clothes and hair reek of their kitchen activities smell upsettingly strong. It's got nothing to do with racism: it's just that people don't want to smell fish powder, cumin, kimchi, garam masala, onion or anything fermented at 8am on public transport. It's that simple. It's an olfactory complaint, nothing else. I'm going to hunt for one of those garments now as I am an adventurous cook in danger of stinking up the High Street if I'm not careful with my textiles ;D. Thank you for your video.

It's not just an Arab thing, Muslims in general will smell good because of the emphasis placed in the Sunnah on being well presented and well perfumed. Therefore, Pakistanis and other Muslim peoples of other cultures will have fragrance embedded within their Islamic culture. This video should be titled why Muslim women and men smell good.

They smell very strong which doesn’t necessarily mean they smell good. Their perfumes are so strong cause they use “ oudh “ if that’s how it spells, that it gives headaches 🤕
Perfume is to give a fresh or floral or musky or any such scent to the people who come in your close proximity unlike a room freshener that smells up the entire room😂
No offense but that’s my personal experience with Arabs since I live in an Arabic country for a decade 🙂
