- Tapasya - SDN's training sessions, is a series of videos that will be published on a monthly basis (as episodes) on the last day of every month.
The students featuring in Tapasya series have about 6-8 classes every month. Each episode of Tapasya is a cumulative overview of what is taught to them during the course of the month.
Along with the training sessions of the children, Tapasya also holds inputs on teaching techniques from Smt. Sheela Unnikrishnan and useful tips from the regular performers of Sridevi Nrithyalaya.

Since SDN is run by SRIDEVI NRITHYALAYA TRUST, all the productions of SDN, be it music or dance, become intellectual property of the Trust. Sridevi Nrithyalaya Trust (SDNT) owns all the productions and will not allow anyone to download or use SDN videos/audios, even if it is meant for non-commercial purposes.
With able legal guidance, our team works meticulously in curbing audios/videos of Sridevi Nrithyalaya that have been used in unauthorized ways and uploaded on social media. Though we do not put up copyright declarations in all our videos, we strictly adhere to legal formalities and procedures regarding copyrights.
We work hard and spend a good time and amount of our resources to produce our music and dance videos. They are produced and uploaded on our social platforms solely to take our art to all those rasikas around the globe who are unable to reach us in person to enjoy SDN's art live.
It is not about 'misuse' or 'trying to support' our dance and audio productions by just giving credits. Art is for all, for sure. Our productions uploaded on social media platforms are for the art lovers worldwide to WATCH and ENJOY but definitely not for copying or reproducing without SDNT's authorisation.
SDNT has unanimously arrived at this decision and therefore, SDN or any individual from SDN would not be able to grant anyone permission to reproduce any of our works.
All the productions of Sridevi Nrithyalaya are intellectual properties (Aural & Visual) of SRIDEVI NRITHYALAYA TRUST solely. Any person or channel infringing our copyright policies (which are mentioned in the description box in our CZcams videos) will be given a 'copyright strike' which we might not be able to redeem at any cost.

Adavus are not the only thing to be taught to the children… punctuality, discipline, attentiveness along with that our puranas, culture & tradition etc… are to be nurtured in them. We need to engage them with some interesting result oriented activities based on their levels side by side perfecting their Adavus. Best wishes to you.

Maybe running a class could be boring after some time (because you're just RUNNING), if we are not sincerly, deeply dedicated on that path ... if so, better to acknowledge it in our heart and do something else that really suits us ... Living in north Bhaarata .....now i have realised how important is keeping dharma alive and all our beautiful dance forms .......they are not dead here but certainly highly endangered ......so happy to see somewhere around Bhaarata especially south where the temples and the culture is still alive

I cannot thank you enough for this great effort of yours in teaching all of us how to train students who aspire to learn Bharathanatyam. I am a big fan of your teaching style and always wanted learn your techniques, so "Tapasya" is really helping all of us in this regard.
But I have a few questions based on the information you have given in this episode. If you could answer them, it will be really helpful and I will be grateful to you.
According to you, adavus should not be initiated until proper body balance and araimandi posture is achieved (A very good point made) and I can see that students who joined in 2015 are only learning 3rd tattadavu now. With this speed, it will take a minimum of 5 to 6 years just to complete the dasha vidha adavus. But, one of your students, Kum. Shreya Shree, who is, may be, just 9 or 10 years old now, is able to dance in a very professional level, with excellent body language and perfect adavus. . And many of your students of this age are able to dance very well. So based on my observations of all of your videos, my questions are:
1. What is the minimum age for students of your class?
2. How many classes per week do you conduct and how long will each class be?
3. Do you select students who can perform well and give them extra practice?, but after seeing your videos, I dont think that is the case, as all of them dance equally well.
4. Do you teach more lessons per class once a student attain basic body balance and anga Southavam? Because to reach the stage where Shreya Shree is right now, more training is absolutely necessary.
I would really appreciate if you could kindly let me (All of us) know your answers. As this will help us improve the training we are giving to our students.
