    While everybody can hear that he used some creative production techniques it's a whole different story to analyze it, remake it and present it like you did, Navie. Congrats!
    Regarding the 2nd example wasn't there a controversy back in the days because he did not clear the sample? I always wonder if that was his decision or the idea of the label to rip off those middle eastern artists.

      They settled. Technically it’s the label’s legal team to clear the sample. The producer of the Big Pimpin sample wanted more ownership into the song but the court decided against it.

    Timbaland truly is a G.O.A.T. cuz the way he creates different textures and sounds is crazy but it works. I made a video using the same sample he used for Are U that Somebody and it took me a minute to come up with something decent. lol
    Seeing you break down Bounce blew my mind though.

    Navie, your soundpacks are amazing. Been working on producing for a while and got a lot of different sounds from different places, but when I got your most basic pack something just clicked. The quality is so good, it's like a catalyst for ideas. In a couple of hours I created something I feel is better than anything I've done before. Maybe I just got better at producing, but the sounds just inspired me. I can't afford the more expensive ones right now, but when I got the money I know where I'm gonna put it. Keep up the good work, cause you're inspiring a lot of people

    Thank you for this one. Im from the 757 and love Pharrell, Timbo, Missy, Davonte...pretty much anything from the Tidewater Area. I think one of the big things Timbp does, that you might have missed (or maybe saving for a part 2) is incorporating beatboxing in the beat. Someone might have mentioned this but i didnt read all the comments. Great breakdown.

    Man i really love you vids! You should analyze Mike Shinoda (from Linkin Park / Fort Minor) style of beats, drums, melodies, structure, etc etc etc. For me he's the most underrated but at the same time one of the most talented producers outside of hip-hop!

    Yes, Royce was originally on renegade The actual song is even floating on CZcams somewhere. Jay was trying to do the whole end feature thing and he showed him some stuff and then he asked if he could have that song and just keep Em's verses on it. It was already recorded and finished before hat did anything with it...which makes it a fact that his verses were written(Jay styled in the booth or whatever) AFTER hearing Ems.

    Can u just imagine when as a kid hearing all these songs and years later u get into beatmaking at some point years later as u progress and get better then come back and out of nowhere u remember songs bro back then that you listen to or heard and all of a sudden see it in fl studio and see details behind the beat. This is crazy. My mom and sister listened to her music when I was a kid. It's crazy to also see the producer behind the song showcase wild I don't think beatmaking on CZcams even existed idk it's really interesting. Even exciting when something is giving an example in your favorite DAW mines for example is fl studio. Seeing the details behind it in fl studio is really crayy feels wierd in a good way

The course plug is sweet (seems like a great course, im all for online knowledge transfer) but I feel like saying "if you struggle with your beats" is an unfair way of marketing it. There's stuff to be learned in it sure, but it's not going to fix all the Mr. Struggles out there...

    I am into minute 5 of watching and had to stop to comment. You did a really great job with this brother!
    Timbaland was and still is a musical idol for me. He had a big influence on finding my own style and developing it.
    My friends knew how fascinated I was by his music and as a teenager I was even called Mbaland because of my first name.
    Hope to work with him one day and maybe also have an impact on the upcoming generations of producers.

    Love Timbo to death for much of his earlier work (10 year plus ago) but he tends to rely on co-producing a lot more these days and his beats aren't as ahead of the curve as they once used to be. Most times we refer to his best work is his old work. Was also very underwhelmed by his Masterclass series.

    I just used this technique as a challenge from some sample that had all hi hats and the parts I wanted so I took some notes and 16 leveled it. Not the best beat but it was just practice with the technique

    Listen to Jodeci's last 2 albums to get a feel for Where Timbaland started. People overlook the genius Timbaland learned from the Genius Devante. All the layering etc came from Devante. Those albums are incredible masterpieces.

    I believe timberland uses the MPC 2000 XL to make this beat. Before pro tools and all that stuff. The keyboard might have been first generation Korg trinity with the Roland JV 2050

    Timbaland to me is just funny/unique synths with simple notes and quirky little drum loops with a groove. I know I'm making it sound more simple than it is because you just know he ain't feeling it unless it's got some crazy detuned sounding synth with tambourines and bongos and shit
