Virtual Lecture Series: The Whole Gilded Age: Newport and Beyond

In this lecture from June 14, 2022, Ulysses Dietz - a guest curator at the Preservation Society and the great-great grandson of President Ulysses S. Grant - examines how Newport typified the Gilded Age while serving as a catalyst for during an era of major change throughout the country. Dietz has authored books on Victorian furniture, studio ceramics, jewelry, the White House, and vampires, and he gives a speech at Grant's Tomb in New York City every year. He is also on the board of the U.S. Grant Presidential Library and Museum at Mississippi State University.
