    Great review! I really loved watching your deep dive of this laptop. I was torn between the blade 15 or 17 and went with the 2022 Razer 17 I7 3070TI QHD 240HZ 16Gb of DDR 5 4800 and 1TB SSD. I also upgraded the ram to 32GB DDR5 4800 and now have 2 TB of SSD. Overall, a really solid laptop with very good performance. For those wondering if the 300+ nits is bright enough I can say I have no issues with the screen in the daytime. At night I find myself turning down the brightness as it is too bright. I hope this helps.

      @MashITTech  Před 2 lety

      Thanks Michael, I have last years 17" and do love it but I fancied the smaller 15" this year. The 17" you have though really does have a lot better performance than the 15 with 40w better TGP on the GPU and an extra 20w on the CPU in boost mode. I agree with 300 nits being enough, the only time I struggle is in my really bright sun room and even then if I position the laptop right it is manageable

    Edit: My initial positive stance on this laptop has changed. See comment chain.
    This was the review I needed. All the other review videos look at the impractical max-spec $4,000 model, where as this model seems to make the most sense for the money. It's good to know the device appears to function well (apart from the questionable performance of the SSD) and remains relatively cool under load. Went out and bought this exact model at Micro Center today. Thanks for making the decision process easier.

      Update: While the build quality was very impressive, I ended up returning my Razer Blade 15 within three days due to multiple blue screens and buggy internals. Though it may have been a lemon, I wasn’t willing to take a chance sinking that much money into a laptop. After weeks of research into laptops that balance power and longevity, I settled on getting the new Legion 7 Gen 7 with a Ryzen 9.

      @@cfryer102 sorry to hear about your experience, I haven’t had any bsod with mine so Amy have been a lemon 😢 I haven’t tested the ryzen gen 7 but the intel version was amazing so no doubt the ryzen will be as well. Did you get the 6850 gpu?

      @@MashITTech I did get the one with the 6850M XT after it finally was restocked after a month and a half (Still won’t be shipped until the end of November though 😅). I was really drawn to Lenovo after seeing their reputation for reliability, both across the internet and in Rescuecom’s Reliability Reports. I did have the 6700M Legion 7 model for a month, but returned it, believing that the max-spec 6850M XT would last me longer tech-wise. I was also happy to see Notebook Check reviewed the 6850M XT model quite favorably.
      I wanted to love the Razer Blade 15. There’s no denying the machine felt like the Windows Macbook equivalent, build-wise. However, after having to exchange my “top-rated” Dell XPS 15 three times years ago, I didn’t want to take that chance with that expensive of a machine again.
      I was amazed at how much research was required when buying a Windows laptop. Apple makes it easy by limiting your choices and generally ensuring quality products. Shopping for a Windows laptop felt like trying to eat berries in the wild, as even the best looking machines can make your life hell.

      Razer set an artificial TDP for these CPUs to keep the temps down. On balanced it is 35w and max it is 45w. As always their laptops look great and they show that you can put replaceable mem in the thin body with all the other hardware in there (unlike Alienware x15 which to be fair is thinner ) . @MashITTech  Před 2 lety +1

      @@MashITTech So I just grabbed the M15 R7 here in Canada for the equivalent of £1820 after tax with the 12700H ,3070ti, 32 gb ram, QHD screen, Cherry Mx , with additional 1 year accidental damage and the alienware AW610M mouse(for free), which I think is a really decent deal. Nothing else is remotely close in price to these specs, unless I go super budget laptop but even then it's pretty close for arguably crappier build quality.
      I tried to spec the equivalent Legion 5 i pro 12th gen which they just got in on the Lenovo site and it came to equivalent £2,445.30, no extra warranty or free anything, just the laptop. That's a pretty hefty price difference.

    I’ve always wanted a Razer laptop but the battery bloat issue, and terrible customer service were enough to convince my to buy an Alienware instead. 1 year with my M15r4 and I couldn’t be happier

    • @MashITTech
      @MashITTech  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah I must admit the battery bloat issue is annoying, it’s been going on for years without a fix! I wonder if it’s because the compact chassis gets too hot and therefore the battery runs hotter than other laptops? When I compare the palm rest of the x15 to the blade, the whole palm and battery area remains cool on the x15 but it’s really hot on the blade

    • @undervoltologist420
      @undervoltologist420 Před 2 lety

      @@MashITTech The main issue is the battery, most brands use batteries that are rated up to 100c or close numbers, meanwhile razer batteries have a disclaimer on them saying "do not expose the battery above 65c" which is too low as you would expect

    • @bennyribs
      @bennyribs Před 2 lety

      @@MashITTech I would absolutely agree with you, I think the internal design makes a huge impact, and I’m glad the Alienware has the thermal shelf in the rear. I think battery bloat would be less of an issue if their customer service was better. I’m hoping Razer fixes this with a redesigned blade 15 soon

    My 8 Core Ryzen 5900HS in my Zephyrus G15 has the exact same cinebench r23 as the i7-12700H in this Razer blade 15 which I find ridiculous. Seriously, Razer needs to revamp their cooling system as they are seriously lacking behind their competitors in terms of innovation, CPU performance & customer service

      Yes, I have hammered the blade 14 for a year now and use it for work (taking to customers sites, gaming in the lounge and general surfing around the house) as it is so mobile. It won't replace my X17 which I do any serious gaming on but I love it for casual gaming on the go

    I love razer blade laptops but they are very overpriced and the price to performance is not worth it for example I have been looking at the blade i7 3080ti and that costs $3999 before tax or shipping 😕 so I just went with the Asus m16 i9 3070TI for $2200 with a 1600p screen I love it. The prices have to come down before I pull the trigger on one of those laptops.
