Ballet Barre 7 (Online Ballet Class) - Dutch National Ballet

- In these intense and difficult times it’s important stay safe, but also to stay in shape! Therefore we’ve developed a few ‘ballet classes’ for our dancers, but you can join from your living room as well. Ernst Meisner, artistic coordinator of the Junior Company, teaches this barre and pianist Rex Lobo accompanies him on the piano. We will stream a ballet barre on CZcams every Monday and Friday and will go live during a class with dancers (via ZOOM) on our Facebookpage Het Nationale Ballet. All classes start at 11am (CET).

Would it be possible to demonstrate the other side, as well? There are no other dancers around me I can squint at and copy their movements during the time of blackouts.
Ernst is adorable. J’adooore his accent when he pronounces those french movement names
I'm American and I love the accent when he says "foot, foot, foot"! I can't tell that his French has an accent!
and when he says double, it has a birmingham accent :)
And yet for some reason I (British) just sound confused 😂😂😂
During this Covid I have had the opportunity to take classes worldwide with many compagnies, but definitly yours is THE BEST. Thank you agian

Ernst I just have to say a HUGE thank you for these barres! I am a retired professional ballet dancer (57 on Feb 7 and fellow Aquarian) and your classes are absolutely perfect! Very sane and very creative in your combinations without getting affectatious or anything outrageous and shockingly inappropriate! Very wonderfully structured and really what the body needs. Congratulations! You are a wonderful teacher and remind me of the best of the teachers I had coming up in my own career! I LOVE your class.

Checked out several ballet classes online, the music selection here is superb.
Could not agree more. I've also made the online ballet class rounds and these with Ernst Meisner and Rex Lobo are by far the best. The live piano accompaniment in particular makes them really stand out.
Hi, this is my first ballet class in almost 3 years.. I was taking your classes religious ar the start of /during covid, then I got very sick and I had knee surgery which as a professional dancer was devastating. Today is Easter day 2022 and it decided to "" try"" to get through a bar, it was not easy ... had a lot of wobbles but I did it, I did it I did it.
Ernst you are amazing. And then your piano player... beautiful. I can't wait to get back in the New York City to take class but I'm so worried and nervous, thank you thank you thank you and happy Easter to all.

I keep revisiting all these classes, they are so brilliant. I try to do them better each time. Today I must have pressed the sub-title button by mistake. I have never laughed so much. It cheered me up on a dark dull day. Do try it! So funny. "Pas de bourree" reads 'pod Murray" - "ponche" = pawn shade - "frappee and then one"; = frappe and M1- "out, out, you close" = out 03U clothes - "efface" = FSA! Heaven help anyone attempting this who doesn't speak English and can't follow the (very clear) dialogue... probably done by computer..... (I apologise I don't have accents on my keyboard.)
It is magic... whenever I am Ernst with his open smile and trusty Rex are there! Sure yuo began a part of many lives :-)

Greetings from Los Angeles! These classes have been my ballet home away from the studio at least every Saturday morning if not more often. Thank you for sharing your talents and helping to keep us dancers in shape. It's been nice to work on technique fundamentals until we can get back to class.

Ernest Meisner (so calm and clear) gives the best online barre I've come across, and Rex Lobo's piano playing is phenomenal. I started ballet late in life but became hooked.
