Mattie Levy is a coordinator for SMTD's DEI Office and a program coordinator assistant for Wolverine Pathways. She’s a cofounder of Black Leaders in Art Collective, which supports Black artists by providing performance and collaborative opportunities and a safe space. Her recent projects include serving as performer/composer/artistic director for No Dead White Guys, a series that amplifies marginalized composers. Her essay on imposter syndrome in BIPOC artists is seen in the online journal Currents in Music Research. Her Presser Award-winning musical Concert Black, which celebrates Black musicians’ stories, is in development; a workshop staged reading of Act 1 occurred on January 27, 2024.
