He was. Thor was hitting Gorr so hard the shockwaves split that nearby planet in half, Thor flew down, held it together and engulfed the fissures in lightening mending the planet back together. Plus King Thor threw the planet with the sword on it into a black hole lol. Good shows of Thor physical strength, as it should be
Quiet possibly one of the best comic series in Marvel. Really hope they turn this into a Thor movie

Isn't the same applies for the villains in the prior ''Thor'' (as I refuse to genuinely call that atrocity a Thor movie) movie by that same director? He made Skurge some sycophantic janitor who never does anything worth a damn in the movie except recieve out-of-nowhere redemption scene and a poorly shot death scene, Loki was turned into a third wheel in the story where he's meant to be the main villain, and Hela went from a melancholic neutral evil who needs not to throw fists to overpower someone, as she's literal death and she is above anyone whose flesh is still grasping at air, into a cornball video game boss who kills NPCs in cheesy fight scenes and is not the daughter of Loki.
What else were you expecting from that director?

This storyline was so awesome. After I heard this I went a bought the whole series. Then came back to listen once more. Thor was truly a God in this story. This is the real Thor, the MCU should absolutely use this as a movie without a doubt. 👊🏼

Bro really? I knew he was going to play the villain for Thor 3 and I was exited to see the legend play gorr , but then I heard they were making the villain Adam Warlock so I was kinda disappointed. You have no idea how much I screamed from excitement after reading your comment and learning his is going to be gorr!
This story is beyond amazing.
This is by far my favorite Thor story start to finish god tier art and writing one of my favorite lines ever that they just had to rip for Ragnarok in the MCU “I’ve killed gods of war gods and of death, what was Thor god of before he died? ....thunder”

Old thor mentioned if middle aged thor was a guardian of the galaxy. And in endgame thor actually became a guardian of the galaxy. Coincidence, I think not.
Is because in the comics actually exists a team that is called the asgardians of the galaxy, and thor was a member of the guardians too I dont remember bad

You know, I feel where Gor is coming from, but he's let rage blind him. A shame, too; could've worked towards a better world for him and like-minded people. A self-sufficient society where either no gods ruled over them or a society where gods lived among them and the term god just meant long lived, not superior. A society that venerated helping one another over grovelling and begging to a higher power. One that placed emphasis on hope for tomorrow without needing to look on high for some sort of deliverance that's subject to the whims of a deity/deities, that emphasizes that the state of tomorrow depends on the choices of today. He had such a powerful drive, but he focused it in the wrong place. Then again, we likely wouldn't have heard of Gor if that were his story.

Back when I was in university, this was the story I'd listen to on my commute to/from every semester. Now that many aspects of this storyline are in the limelight, it feels like an appropriate time to come back and listen again.
As much as I love what this story is I feel like if marvel was as in the habit of making unconnected stories like dc is we could have had something darker.
Something like Thor the end where we really get to see the effect of gods falling, hell considering what we’ve seen from Gorr would have been interesting to see him deal with Galactus
I agree, if we had gotten something like this in the vain of Old Man Logan or literally ANYTHING like the dark knights metal timeliness this story could have been extremely darker. Hopefully they treat it with respect in Love and Thunder, Gorr neeeeeeds to have a dark and morose tone when he enters.

I have never been a fan of Thor but your reading of this amazing story has opened my eyes to the realm of possibilities for great writing within these books. That last line with the river’s names made me well up. I have never really been a fan of prequels but the way these stories are written in flashbacks make them so much more. Thank you for the great job on this read and I am so glad they showed how dangerous Minotaur actually was before they totally nerfed him in immortal Hulk.

& That is never answered also. + which " Gods " did they pray to? Where they all evil gods to begin with? & that One god of BOMBS looks like he be one of the gods they worshiped too..? How they had nothing to build with they could barely even make the simplest tools.. & after all this time of him going back in time killing all these gods no one notice to many plot holes in this story

Honestly, he probably could. Think about it. Gorr is extremely powerful yes, but mortal. Kratos is a demi God, turned the God of War. He can die, but he's too stubborn and driven to stay dead. The question isn't IF he could, it's rather WHEN.

This is such an epic story, I love it so much.
It seems that gods in the marvel comics and MCU seem synonymous with powerful being.
Marvel comics gods are actual gods ,though not immortal,
-they can respond and hear to prayers
-praying to them boosts their strength
-their body is made of divine energy/life force
-thor once stated that he could feel the energy of universe following through him
-vision stated that zeus and greek gods are much more than physical bodies and can revive at will
but mcu gods just seem to be powerful beings, not actual gods (atleast prior to love and thunder)

young audience can handle a serious toned movie, not necessarily an R rated movie of course but love and tunder was not aimed for young audience, it was made for 5 year old children.

You will be severely disappointed if you expect Love and thunder to do this 1% of justice, as this comic run is LEGENDARY, the movie makes a mockey of it and Gorr.
Gorr...the beast who tortured the god of torture, cut off shadracks eyelids, chopped off the arms and legs of the god of the hunt just so Thor would find him and have to take him out of his misery....Gorr the guy who CRUCIFIED volstag..
He's a cupcake and you can tell that Taika isn't lying when he said he never read these comics.
What a fking joke, Sam Raimi would have been a better choice to direct this rather then multiverse of madness...ANYONE but that 12 year old boy trapped in a man's body in Taika, he's about silly jokes and constant humiliation-comedy....that's not Gorr the God butcher or Thor.
@Dealbrutality was there in Capt. America 2 and dr strange 2 . Ragnarok had comedy, action, emotional scenes, everything done well and was a break from that forgettable dark world. Can someone help me out with a Thor reading order. I love this storyline. Well the amount I’ve seen, before I decided if I’m going to read it. I’m new to marvel as I’m more of a dc fan especially green lantern and Hawkman. However Thor has always been interesting to me since he reminds me of both characters. I never understood the point that he couldn't call a storm cloud over the tent... Considering he has summoned storm clouds IN SPACE before(in canon)... FIRE STORMS on normal planets... He SHOULD be able to do just about ANYTHING with weather (thus, the title of GOD of whatever)..... In that, "whatever" logic is whatever he SAYS it is... But apparently writers didn't get that memo.
