Antony Starr as Homelander is perfect casting and Karl Urban as Butcher is phenomenal. They do the characters justice

And Billionaires, the most wealthiest and more powerful, absolutely have some form of mental illness. I don't know why it isn't discussed more often. Only someone with untreated mental illness could amass and maintain that much wealth. I don't know why we don't collectively look down at them for being the addicts they are. Society looks down on so called "Drug Addicts" but they are doing far less harm to the world than any one of these Wealth-Addicts. I said it and I'll say it again, they have untreated mental illness.

Just watched 1-3. So far so good. Even though they completely detoured from the comics, it’s still fresh and fun. Anthony Starr is meant for this role. His look and his eyes are so menacing.
Getting rid of the on the run plot/blackmailing repetition helps. I think those two things were pulling down Season 2, and now they're really just better off.

@@gibberconfirm166 It made sense in Season 1 and 2 because the world didn't know about Compound V and the supe facade was so strong, so all The Boys really could do was blackmail the supes' reputations and personal lives. Now in Season 3 everything is blowing up in Vought's face, compound V is out, the balance of corporation, humans and supes is waning because of Stormfront's death and Homelander is on a knife's edge. It fucking rules to watch and I reckon the build up from Season 1 and 2 makes it that way. I can look back on those seasons fondly knowing it gets even better.
The show is far superior to the comics. Glad they detoured tbh.
There are scenes in Supernatural involving Jensen Ackles where his acting is so on point that you almost want to cry along with his character. One of the episodes is definitely called "Regarding Dean" and there's so many others involving his character. For any Supernatural fans in the comments, list the episodes where Jensen Ackles completely shines as an actor when he's portaying Dean Winchester. Since many Supernatural fans will now become fans of The Boys it would be cool to have fans of the Boys tryout some really memorable episodes of Supernatural.
PS. Hell even his mental breakdown at the end in the reveal of My Bloody Valentine 3D was really good.
Totally Agree, I think the scene that made me tear up abit was in S12 when he and Sam will find out that their mom was working with the British Man of Letters...gets me everytime
A scene that's always got me was during the Leviathan series, after Frank tells him to 'Do it right, with a smile, or don't do it at all.' and later Dean and Sam are driving and Sam asks Dean how he is. Dean says "I'm fine." And there is this moment, split second of hesitation as he tries to force it on his face, and then there is the smile. But honestly, he's always been an amazing talent.
^^ definitely when Sam was about to finish the last trial with Crowley in the church, but in order to do that Sam must die along with it & dean made him stop. Such a great moment

@@kingk7832 trust me, don't give up after the first season. It sets up a lot of important stuff but it can also be rough around the edges. The show doesn't really start finding its stride until season two.
Antony Starr deserves some award for his portrayal of Homelander. Like Hugh Jackman and Wolverine, I cannot imagine ANY other actor doing as good of a job as he does with his character!

The actor who plays Homelander managed to convey his underlying madness in the first few minutes of season 1.
Without knowing anything about the show, when I first saw him I was like, "There's something wrong with this 'Superman' guy."

What initially drew me into this show was the fact that it is so entirely accurate in the way of how the television industry thinks lol. It's literally spot on with the tactics they use.
Reputation at all costs, lying to the public, spinning some fairytale story about their heroes, cutting those who have a bad reputation from an incident like the deep,, and mudslinging their opposers.
It's not at all really that farfetched from the truth of how the TV business is at all.

I've seen a lot of villains that people called "scary" but I've never been genuinely unnerved through my screen before Homelander. Did you see the ad where he wore a t-shirt? Still terrifying!

Season 2 was mediocre for those who loved the show with high expectations.. but Season 3 is what we needed... Extremely good plot.. unpredictable sequences.. Unequivocally season 3 is raging fire 🔥🔥

Only season with any bad in it is S3, because it keeps ramping up like all the other seasons which is great, but then having that dissapointing final episode. Loved the final scene about Ryan potentially turning evil, but all that soldierboy buildup only to shelf his character😒

I'm happy that Butcher is actually visiting Ryan because I was a little disappointed he was sent away from him after his mother entrusted the kid to him at the end of the second season.
TBF not getting involved with Ryan was the best move at the time.
Still is considering Butcher is not exactly a great person to be a parental figure.
Plus, there is a high chance it will go sideways. They literally showed Ryan ripping of the necklace Butcher gave him in previous trailer.
I think we’re gonna see that Butcher handing Ryan over to Mallory will give her like a second chance at grandchildren. And like butcher said in season 2, he wouldn’t be any good for the kid, and he’s probably right. Ryan needs a mother figure which is what homelander never had, and this is just butchers way of preventing another homelander.
I’m coming back to this trailer so see if there’s any footage I don’t recognize to make sure there’s at least one more episode💀

I love the fact that both Homelander and Butcher seem to be losing their minds. The longer they're in the game the more alike they become.
I’m glad the show does so well at portraying this bc in the comics, it’s hinted at plenty of times that butcher really isn’t much better than the supes he aims to kill. Sure he ain’t a rapist/creeper but he checks just about every other box. He’s a murderer, even when unnecessary and always has to be a part of a war/have an enemy to fight. His bias towards supes is literally nazi level to where he thinks they all need to die-every last V-infused man, woman and child, since that’s who he blaims for his problems. That’s just how he is and as we can see, it’s only getting worse. The themes of morality are so important bc it goes to show that the V itself doesn’t make you a bad person, you can be terrible with or without compound V and human history itself is undeniable proof. So I’m glad we’re seeing that touched on in the show

Fun fact: Jenson ackles auditioned to be Captain America and was offered the role of Hawkeye. However his schedule with supernatural interfered, and he decided to stay with the show rather than go into the MCU. So they decided to go with Jemery Renner.
I feel like his experience from playing a dark but righteous charater like Dean will really help him as Soilder Boy.
Eric Kripke (the writer of the first 5 seasons of supernatural) is also the showrunner for The Boys. He pushed the studio to let Jenson audtion, because of the work they did together.
I didnt know that, but I think with the role of Hawkeye he would have make a lot more money.

I love the fact that on Amazon they really let the shows have full creative freedom to get as messed up and as gritty as they want. Like definitely in The Boys and Invincible, man if only these guys could get the license to do a Berserk Animated series.
And cover the manga parts like Black Swordsman and Lost Children since those stories go really extreme and messed up like the scenes in The Boys.

Dem I got chills and scared a lil bit by the line “I’m very excited for everyone to meet the real me”. That felt like a genuine threat to me, and even if I don’t know homelanders psychopathy, that line alone would probably make me move to the other side of the globe and pray he wouldn’t bother coming.

Just realized that they got rid of the gritty/action movie filter for season 3 which is great ! The colors pop more, especially with the supes costume and the show looks overall better

Ok just noticed this starligh blasting Soldier boy with an attack while MM was covering her with what looks like a gun, in the background Maeve and homelander appear to be fighting. This seems to be in news studio and given the events so far feels like a twist ending might be coming our way .
I'm here after finishing season 3 and I have to admit that Homelander is one of the greatest villains ive ever seen in fiction
I always liked how MM isn’t afraid of and stands up to Butcher when he feels he goes too far
To be fair, he's the only one of the guys that can match Butcher physically.

MM is the glue of the team he’s the Morpheus like character….full of wisdom, nobility and mercy. He’s the voice of reason.

The actor who plays him alluded my senses. I normally recognise the face of any actor even if I’ve only watched them once or not seen them in anything for years. I didn’t realise this guy was the villain in fast four and played the jealous tribal man turned ally in avatar.

I can’t wait for this season it looks like it’s all the seasons combined to make a crazy blood mess all over my screen but I am kinda skeptical with them getting powers I hope it’s not used to much because my favorite part of the first two seasons was that they are just regular guys going up against gods

I actually prefer season two over one. Season one is great don’t get me wrong but I felt like the conclusion was predictable. Season two finale was shocking because I didn’t foresee events playing out the way they did with storefront, Ryan, his mother, billy etc.
Season one A-train vs starlight and hughie was just corny and Homelander’s showdown with Billy after he kidnapped Stilwell and her baby was again predictable.
Let's be honest, Homelander IS this show.

Yeah Butcher was written as the main character for the comics so in that medium he's praised
But the show arguably follows Homelanders antics more/Homelanders scenes are purposely given more impact and narrative sway
